Around the World Mosaics II is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed This Now Enjoying this game a lot! I like being able to choose from 3 countries before each game, as well as the size (10x15, 15x15, etc.) and the little snippets of trivia about each country. What I like the most is being able to choose a pattern to overlay the color squares so that white squares do not blend in with the beige background. The music is World Music and the difficulty is just right for these trying times: enough to keep me occupied but not frustratingly hard. Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Really Like This One! Our latest trip around the world is proving to be a nice, fun game. I needed a new mosaic to brighten things up around here. This selection of countries was more interesting to me, offering once again, all the fun facts I love to learn. I love being able to choose the country I want to visit. Having so many great features is really special because my mosaic-solving skills still need some fine-tuning. It is not so frustrating in my learning process with great tools to help me better my achievements along the way. I strive for that silly perfection in these mosaic games, to satisfy my even sillier ego that wants me to earn 3 stars every single time. It drives me nuts! lol The undo feature is a favorite and also I love not having to start anew after a pre-set number of mistakes are made. These two features, for me, keep discouragement from creeping in sometimes and 3 stars are easier to earn, as I hone my skills. The hint system is very good, too, but I hate using hints. Just had to try it, though, in this new game, to see how it works. The two game modes are fun, I like to play them both. I'm also happy with the variety of tile shapes and, as Pennmom mentioned, the column and row highlighting is a very welcomed, much needed feature. As I move forward through the game, I hope to find lots of clever images and nice colors. So far, I am delighted with everything and the game runs smoothly on my PC. It seems that Lazy Turtle isn't so lazy when it comes to delivering lots of relaxing fun. I'm grateful, because this has become one of my top genres, as a break from the more "serious" game styles in my ever-growing BFG collection. Maybe BF could bring us more quality mosaic games, on a more regular basis? I think that would certainly make a lot of fishies very happy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ?????, ????, ?? (?? ???) ??á, ???????????? (?????s??????) ?? '??????? ?s s????, s???????, Γει? σου (???á s??) ??? ??????? I just took my second trip around the world, Mosaic-style, this time I visited Spain-China-Brazil-Russia-Egypt-South Africa-Greece, and Turkey, and I learned even more interesting fun facts after each completed level! The coolest feature by far is that you can choose any Country you want to visit and then select whichever griddler you want within that country, you aren't stuck playing levels in a specific order! There are 8 different countries to visit and each country has 10 different theme-related puzzles to solve. Each griddler, within the country, is labeled to show you how many colors are used, as well as the Grid dimensions and eventually shows completed puzzle statistics such as the Time it took to complete, Stars earned, mistakes made, etc. You can play in an Easy Mode which marks off cells one by one or a Hard Mode which crosses off the numbers once the entire column or row has been completed. You can also choose between 6 Tile shapes by clicking the settings icon and then choosing the "more options" icon. Another feature I liked, displays a large bubble with the number of cells when you click and drag longer segments. They have added a row and column highlight this time, which was really my biggest complaint on the first Around The World Mosaic game. You can earn up to 3 stars, a star is deducted for each mistake made, however, there is an Undo feature available that gives you 5 free undo's and I'm assuming more can be purchased with the coins earned during gameplay but I haven't had to use them yet to find out. Although a star is deducted for making mistakes, it doesn't make you restart the puzzle after a set number because just for grins & giggles, I played an entire puzzle by placing X's on every row, 176 Mistakes on a single puzzle! There is also a Hint feature that gives you 5 freebies as well, but these grids are pretty easy and I doubt they will get used up. After completing a mosaic you can read a Fun Fact about whatever image was completed, and you know how I love my random fun facts lol! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay, but had to make some forced guesses..... I love griddler/picross games. I tend to go for the more challenging offerings, but enjoyed this one for some light enjoyment, when I have a bit of time to fill. I really enjoyed the fun facts which are offered at the completion of each puzzle. The graphics were good and the music was okay. The deal breaker for me in all griddler/picross games is when you are forced to make a guess, as there are two possible solutions to complete a game. I came across this situation twice in the demo. This leads me to assume I may come across more as I got further into the game. It is for this reason that I will not be purchasing this game. If you are a beginner at these games, or don't mind having to make a guess once in a while, this is a good option for you. Here are two picross games which I own, and find quite challenging: --> Asian Riddles (#3 and #4) *very challenging; logic based solutions. --> Picross Fairytale: Legend of the Mermaid *very challenging; logic based solutions; if you make a mistake, it does not tell you right away... you have to 'check for mistakes', which cost you some of your accumulated points. It is monochromatic. It does not display the number of 'cells' if you drag the cursor. I used to do these types of puzzles in old paperback puzzles years ago, with pencil and eraser. This game (Picross Fairytale) is the closest you can get to that... no bells and whistles... just a challenging puzzle (mind calisthenics!). As always, I recommend that you try before you buy. Happy Gaming Fishies!! (Stay home... stay safe... one love)
