Fantasy Mosaics 50: Santa's World is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun And Relaxing A variety of puzzles from easy to more challenging. I own a lot of this series and will replay them. It is nice way to get my mind off other things. The only thing I was disappointed in was there were no penguins in the opening scene or in other scenes. I really missed the penguins telling the story. I expected that it being 50 they would be there!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relaxing and fun Fantasy Mosaics always get a bad rap. I love them. I have purchased a lot of them. They aren't that challenging and it is the same concept every game, but I find them to be relaxing. A game I can play to get my mind off other things. I enjoy it and the penguins are cute. Just don't expect too much from this series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from WHAT HAPPENED TO FANTASY MOSAIC MONDAY? There is absolutely no challenge whatsoever in this series and the graphics seem pretty dull and grainy with unappealing colors which have never been the case with this series in the past? The Zen Mode has returned for those who prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch between colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble. You can play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake, and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints. There are 20 locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers and an additional mini-game. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy, and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake. There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved. Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed, or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice. Rated 3 out of 5 by from 50!! When Will It End? Anyway, Santa arrived in a souped-up sleigh and landed in the snowy landscape. I got started with the demo as usual, thinking that the Christmas theme might add something special. When it ended, I had finished 4 puzzles and saw none of the mini-games or interactive items. The music was pleasant but not very holly-jolly. Although the graphics were sharp and clear, I found them unappealing with colors, IMO, that didn't seem bright enough for the holiday theme. They were kind of on the darkish side and the yellow looked out of place. Maybe it was intended to be gold? So, to me, the puzzles just had a dullness to them. The images were kind of cute. The little details as in past games were missing, but the pics were each easily recognizable. Hopefully, they all depict the Christmas season without some odd-ball ones thrown in that have nothing to do with the theme. There's always enough variety with the tile choices, I usually go for the glossy because I like the shimmery look. They are a good size which adds to the ease of working the puzzles and as the grids grow I usually have no visual strain. Some of the cells will reward you with a bonus/power-up. You can either lock or unlock the colors, I prefer seeing all the colors up front. The puzzles are of medium difficulty for me until the grids become much larger and then my skills are challenged to the tune of replay, replay, replay. It's painful to start over! I have no desire to buy Number 50. I stopped buying long ago because changes were never added, the decorating became boring and the novel penguin adventures wore out. Something new is definitely needed to spruce up Fantasy Mosaics. New characters, new challenges, new features. SOMETHING?! Owning many of the older games, I see no need for a new one. They all play the same. The fans of this series are going to be joyful over this holiday offering. Lots of levels to enjoy with hot chocolate and cookies! If you love the penguins this is the perfect gift, just in time for Christmas. If unfamiliar with the series, take a look at the demo to get a feel for it. It is a quality mosaics game, but for me it just fails to deliver. Other nonogram games on BF have newer features, better options and aren't reluctant to change a little along the way to keep things fresh and fun. So, I just keep trying each FM demo, thinking that someday I'll find something new to rekindle my interest in this once favorite mosaics game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from More Penguin Antics - Less Puzzles I keep hoping for something different but we all know how these games go. I think this one was easier than the others. I've played them all but do not think they are easier because of experience but because they are less complex. I love the puzzles, but there were hardly any this time and they were extremely easy. I keep saying I won't buy any more penguins. Maybe this time I really mean it.
