Crystal of Atlantis is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a nice surprise I have always said that this developer puts far more effort in to their stories than they do their match 3 mechanics. Imagine my surprise to see that they have made an effort to change the game play which was always the same game after game. Room for improvement but the very fact that they have made an effort in my book is worthy of 5 stars. Thank you. The ice actually spreads and you now get bombs on every level on matching 5 or more as opposed to only on levels without items to drop to the bottom. You now have to extend gold frames to reach the amount needed which is a new feature for this developer. I was so enthralled by the very fact they had made an effort that my demo time flew by and I just had to purchase. It is not up there with the best but it is a valiant effort to make changes after years of the same mechanics. You still have the morphing tiles which I have always quite liked as they can get you out of a stick situation. As usual try the demo and see what you think but for me I am happy with the effort they have made, for now anyway lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new surprise for match3 lover ! Thanks ! Supremely enjoy this game! Very good in graphic & atmosphere, very deep story as usual. But the main reason is finally a new gameplay mechanic from this developer ! This game is a MUST for match 3 lover. Almost perfect in every aspects, Just give it a try !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Change is good!!!! I haven't completed the game as of now but have completed the first round of upgrades. The developers have made several changes. For example, you will receive bombs after matching 5 or more pieces on all levels, there is ice that will spread unless you remove it totally from the screen. There are other changes that I am discovering but will let you discover them for yourself. I would highly recommend this game!!! If you're not sure try it before you buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crystal of Atlantis I enjoy playing games through this developer and this is the first game that I have played through them based on Atlantis. All the other games have been general and I learnt about Atlantis through this one

Rated 4 out of 5 by from (M3) Crystal of Atlantis (released here 6-22-22) Based on 1hr demo (I got to level 7) It's more like 3.7* The fact it's released as an SE not CE gained a star from me. I do think new players to this dev will really like this one. I own a few by them and they all tend to be a lot alike. Same sounds, same mechanics, those popping bubble tiles.... Relaxed & timed modes (no limited moves) Even on relaxed this is not the most chill game I've played. I think the players that prefer strategic M3s will like this more. The story itself felt a bit M3 generic to me. Take it or leave it. The intro is still pictures that have story narration by a VO. As you add to the build area you get more of the story which requires you to click through "talking text". I didn't care about this story so I was skipping it in later levels. This game gets tricky quickly in so I realized I was holding my tools to use if I got stuck instead of right away. You will find the majority of gameplay is chipping away at blocked tiles. You match beside, over, through ropes, through stone, etc. I wasn't all that big on the tile designs. Every level seemed to change 1 tile design but it would have been better with more than 1 imo. BUILD AREA: It has an area you add new pre-selected sections to. I wish the moving items in this world were a pinch larger. By 10% into the game I loved getting the little cattle & horses to watch but they are super small. I also wished it would have allowed smaller sized upgrades, so we could use our earned M3 currency (stars) to upgrade more often. The music was good and fit this game but repetitive so I turned it off near the 1/2 hour mark. The game effect sounds are the same as all this dev games and I would love for them to change up the game effect sounds per series. Especially that awful "bbbrrriiiinggg" sound they use (usually @ m5, but in this game it's with m7.) It's dev by Efun-soft & my favorite game by this dev is Amanda's Magic Book 3 The Spirit World.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An ENHANCED "STAGE COMPLETE" There are so many of these out, most very similar. But the Developer actually made this one nicely enhancing the graphics and story line (one of first I found interesting). Even the game board play upgraded enough with nice, large, clean tiles. Only possible glitch in my first level only quick play was that several of the tiles that SHOULD have matched, did NOT match - but those same type of matches DID match in most others. But there have been so few even remotely decent NEW Match 3s that I appreciated this Seller actually making an effort to upgrade this type.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I thought "Oh, no - not another one!" I have a few of the previous M3 games by this developer. I quit buying them since they were too similar and I cringed every time I heard "stage complete" for some reason. I agree with others who have said that if you own one or two of these games, you didn't need to bother buying any more because they were all too similar to one another in too many ways. You can spot these games a mile away just by the art work in the tiny thumbnail picture next to the title of the game. So I was ready to go on to another web site, but then I decided to read the reviews. I agree with much of what was said, but was encouraged by the observations that there are improvements in this game. So, I downloaded the trial and gave it a whirl. The sale price was so terrific that I hit the "buy" button at the end of the hour. That's a good combination - an improved game and a great sale! And, there is not an irritating voice saying "Stage Complete" which is another plus! If it wasn't for the reviews, I would have clicked past this one, based on my previous experiences with these games. I'd like to give it a 3.5 star rating if I could.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from LOVE THE NEW GAME MECHANICS BUT WISH THEY HADN'T INCORPORATED THE SAME OLE-SAME OLE This game has a new look with beautiful graphics and modernized fonts. For the first time in a long time, I enjoyed playing this Match 3 game by eFunSoft because the level goals were actually quite challenging on the Timed Mode and the level layouts were different than the ones they have been revamping on every game lately. I was on the fence about my star rating, on one hand, I enjoyed playing this game, but on the other hand, it still seems like the same game because the developer stopped short of revamping the game in its entirety :( As I said, the levels were challenging, and the boards were finally unique, but just when I was ready to click the Buy Now button, along came Artifacts that you have to drop off the board, and clearly, the Bonuses were the same bonuses as offered in all Match 3 games by this developer, even the Morphing Bubbles had returned :( I think eFunSoft is missing the point here. When The Chronicles of Noah's Ark (the 1st one) was released, it was fun and they received 26 Five Star reviews. A few years later and a ton of Match 3 games later, their ratings have dropped significantly because they may all have a different story, but Match 3 fans quickly discovered that every game was basically a clone. After purchasing 2-3 games, even if they are from a different series, we all realized that we were wasting our money because the level layouts were all the same, the goals were all the same, and the bonuses simply had different names but did the same exact thing. We knew we had to upgrade 4 worlds in one chapter to progress, the voiceovers were the same. Unless you wanted a game for a different story, there was no need for another replica and players reflected their disappointment with their star ratings! Eventually, the new fan base became seasoned fans with no need for another clone, eventually, players who had never played a game by this developer became scarce because there have been a LOT of new Match 3 games by this developer, several per month in fact! It's almost as if the developer got cold feet midway through this game. They revamped the graphics and fonts so the curb appeal instantly grabs your attention. The storyline is very unique, it's almost a hybrid cross between Ancient Aliens & Greek Mythology. The main character is very appealing and I was even more impressed when the option to play in a Timed Mode was offered which usually isn't the case! Right from the get-go, the Match 3 levels had different layouts, a slew of various Obstacles, and Goals that were not the norm for this developer and I found myself having to replay levels because I ran out of time and the Obstacles were numerous! Every level offered a new bonus, but it doesn't take long to realize they are the same bonuses with different names. The Morphing Bubble tiles returned and then came the Artifacts that you drop off the board...even worse, those artifact levels had identical layouts where the artifact is on a single top column that was blocked directly underneath by a double roped tile! They changed the Upgrades slightly, selecting various options from a ribbon-type inventory bar to progress the Clan's way of life with Industry, Livestock, Agriculture, and Mining. Several of the options were just black silhouettes that have no price (how many Stars to purchase) it was almost as if they forgot they were there? Honestly, this game was amazing at first glance, but it's as if they didn't know how to make a different game from scratch. You could tell they were trying but just couldn't imagine a different scenario in the long run, therefore, I can only give them 3 stars...BUT if they dive in and decide to go all the way, if they ditch the same old scenarios, I can assure you I will be the first one to give it 5 stars. I think they are beginning to realize that most players have already purchased some of their games and don't want another game that is just the same. They have to create something entirely different if they want to get more sales! Come chat with us about games at my new Woodsy-themed forum thewoodsforum.boards.net

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An Improved "Stage Complete" I enjoyed this one more than the others of this type. Most Stage Complete games I have played were tedious because of the board design and tiles were often difficult to clear. But I regret playing the demo in Relaxed Mode only, as now I think challenge would be the key to making it more fun. The graphics were really nice as were the colors. The characters had no spoken dialogue which means you have to do a bit of reading, but it wasn't enough to make me want to skip. Besides, I thought the story was okay and I don't mind reading if it is a reasonable amount. Another reviewer mentioned having difficulty matching tiles, but I had no problems with that, everything was fine in my demo. The tools were very useful and a couple of bombs were earned when large matches were made. I thought the bombs could have done a better job but I liked that they didn't create tremendous flashes. I think the fireworks in some M3 games is just way too overboard and pointless, but many really love the light shows. Maybe later in the game it will become more spectacular with bigger power-ups. The tiles were big and bright, easy to distinguish. I always like the morphing tiles, they add more interest to the game. The stars weren't as difficult to earn as in past "Stage Complete" games and that made it easier and not so frustrating to accomplish the building. Also, it didn't require a huge amount of earnings to build each stage of the project so that made it more fun, being able to progress without being stuck forever in one spot. Each level required removal of large numbers of particular tiles but it was a piece of cake since I played in Relaxed Mode. I'm sure Timed would have been a better choice, for me. After several levels, the icons that need to drop to the bottom of the board made their appearance and that also was less challenging than in previous games. But that is partly due, I think, to the boards not being designed as cleverly as before. I will likely pick this up with a coupon. We don't get many M3 games these days that are even slightly entertaining. This one had enough pros to make it seem worthwhile, so I'm going to take that leap of faith and hope it's the right decision.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit different Hats off to the developer for at least trying to make this one look different. Mostly it's cosmetic, but welcome, nevertheless. On the other hand, would it kill this developer to add a "Moves" option along with Relaxed and Timer? Not to put too fine a point on it, but "relaxed" is just boring and "timed" often winds up feeling frenetic, which, for me anyway, takes the fun out of it. So, a bit different but underneath pretty much the same. I'm recommending that this game should be played before purchase.
