The Unseen Fears: Outlive is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than any reality show I've seen This game is FANTASTIC!!! It takes place on a Survivor style reality show set, but is so much better than the actual Survivor reality show. It's a long game, too. Just when you think you're near the end, it keeps going. There is a lot to do and see. There are more puzzles than HOPs, but puzzles are mostly easy to mildly challenging. The artwork is beautiful, fun to look at, and contemporary. One thing to beware, is the protagonist has paranormal ability, When his wrist tattoo (bottom right) glows red, it's time to touch the tattoo and click on main screen for an action to take. This is a fun game with excellent story. Wish more games had this level of quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I'd gotten the CE now...... After playing the first Unseen Fears I was not that impressed with the beta or demo so decided not to buy. After reading some of the reviews I decided to spend a game coupon in the SE. Wow........ what a fun and LONG game. The hidden object scenes were really good! The best being the cartoon strips where you had to find objects in one scene, go to others to replace them. Who said you can't do much new with hidden objects???? Was sad to see the game end but will be looking forward to the next game in the series!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SURVIVOR GAME I actually beta tested this game and wasn't too keen on it, BUT I had a free coupon so I tried the SE version. Well, it was totally worth it! This is a long game with 28 locations that you frequently go back to. You have all the standard things -- note book, map and hint key. There are four types of play -- I usually choose Custom; the hidden objects are good but you have more mini-games, some of which are quite challenging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good surprise I really enjoyed this game. Interesting story line and it went for a long time - I thought i'd got to the end & the story continued. Great value - More than some of the more established series offered on Big Fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can you save the city before the televisions take all the people? A very captivating game. You never know what's in store for you. You can communicate with the paranormal and once you pick up the monster's tattoo, you either: put pictures together picking up objects from one scene and placing in another with the story of the beginning from each released captive progressing each time; or: you will be given insight to an object you may be looking for. Your main aim is to destroy the monster and send him back to where he belongs. You have a variety of mini games and hidden object games to complete to proceed from one step to the next. Of course I skipped some of the puzzles (i.e. I'm no good at getting the pipes working) and you do have the choice of playing a match 3 game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fans of Survivor will love this game! I Loved this game! I thoroughly enjoyed the heck out of this game! I don't normally purchase the CE edition of games unless I think they are going to be very good and I felt that way about this game so I purchased the CE and I do not regret it at all! This is the shorter SE version which is just as good as the main story ties up nicely in this edition, you just won't get the bonus games. I was very perplexed by the low reviews on the CE edition of this game especially by those who only played the demo. When I played the demo I was hooked, after playing the entire game, the bonus game, and the other mini bonus game I can honestly say they missed out because I had a fantastic time playing this game! The game progresses and plays like every other game we have here on BF but the story was really fun and different. It's basically a bit of a rift on the show survivor, someone with a broken heart finds what they think is an immunity idol but in the end, it turns out she unleashes a very old very baddddddddddd evil entity. Your job if you choose to take the case is to flush this demon out and lock him away again forever! I love the locations they are all regular everyday modern environments and jungle locals. I love being in regular modern, everyday settings instead of the same old same old, overly colored fantasy lands, or dark dreary, broken down, ugly, bug infested environments which we see a lot of. I wish we had more games like this. Many games lately have bored me so it takes me days sometimes weeks to finish a game, this game I started yesterday and finished today, I just didn't want to stop playing The mini-games are not really my thing but I found I played and enjoyed at least half of the ones in this game, the hidden object scenes were fun and varied, the music was appropriate for each setting and the locals as I stated before were really nice. The best part was the story you find out little by little what the story is and it becomes clearer and clearer the more you play, many games you lose the thread of the story if there ever really was one, not this game you know what you are doing and why you are doing it. You get things in your inventory and you use them within a reasonable time frame. You don't drag junk with you the entire game! I truly find it shocking and very hard to believe anyone would give this game a one star especially after all the actual duds we've been given this past year. I highly recommend this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding Graphics Some of the best graphics I've ever seen. Thought this was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the mini-games were easy enough for a 5-yr-old. No challenge at all. The game has good length, so it gets a star for that. Some different actions you don't see in other games. The developers worked hard on this one. Lots of things to do in every scene. 4 stars for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reality Show Gets A Whole New Meaning I generally enjoy new twists on hidden object games, because unfortunately many of them fall into the same standard rut. That cannot be said for this game, which features a reality show that is so close to Survivor as to risk copyright infringement and rather smartly uses that vehicle to shoehorn in the status quo story of saving the world from the demonic evil spirit that was already banished once forever. But really will be this time, we swear! It can get a little hokey, to be sure, but I liked the concept of reality television potentially sucking the souls of its viewers and causing the end of the world. Maybe I watch a little too much reality television. The game itself looks great, with solid effects and voice acting that is largely solid with a couple of exceptions. HO scenes are just enough, and you will repeat a couple of the scenes. Minigames are pretty standard and generally not challenging, especially true of the one at the end. I did like the twist that your character uses a couple of special powers, but to be honest they aren't that interesting. More could have been done with that facet. Overall, though, you could do much worse. The story moves along well, and it's predictable but largely very fun. The theme is interesting, while a bit over-the-top. I liked the chance to do something different rooted in an area we can all relate to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ~~THE UNSEEN FEARS SEQUEL IS A FAR CRY FROM THE ORIGINAL!~~~ This is the follow up to The Unseen Fears: Body Thief. I would recommend you to play the first installment which is intense and because there are some good and spooky moments that seem to be missing from this sequel. Do you recall and remember what The Unseen Fears: Body Thief was about? It’s about a private detective with some special skills who is called for help in Amsterdam. The authorities are facing a seemingly deranged killer that leaves their victims skinless and they have a feeling that it might be a bit supernatural. In The Unseen Fears: Outlive, your mission is entirely different. A new reality show is entrancing the globe, but not in a good way. When strange things start happening on the set of the nation’s most popular show, it’s up to you to save the contestants and yourself! With dark forces around every turn, do you have what it takes to save the world from a horrible fate? Find out in this sequel to the successful The Unseen Fears: Body Thief! This mystery game allows you to battle supernatural forces and defeat all sorts of spirits and demons while you attempt to save the world. The game does not feature new gameplay mechanics or anything of the sort, which means that if you already are a HOPA fan it should be easy to get down to business from the first minutes of your adventure. The story starts with a TV shows that goes wrong and starts spreading some kind of curse around the world, while simultaneously putting the contestants in danger. Your job is to save everyone and deal with the evil spirits in the process, although you also receive a bit of help on the way. The story is about as straightforward as it gets, so don’t expect anything out of the ordinary in this regard. This edition may not live up to casual gamers expectations; unlike the first edition. As far as the puzzles are concerned, all you have to do is find the required items in order to unlock them, as well as solve the mini-games that challenge your wits. Sometimes you just have to place the right item in a slot, while other times you have to find the correct pattern in order to unlock a container or a door. There is a lot of variety in this regard, even if most mechanics boil down to the same thing in the end. I really enjoyed the scenery even if a bit cartoonish at times. Thankfully, the scenery is quite good at distracting you, given the fact that you are always exploring interesting environments. The artwork is very detailed and in tune with the story, and the same can be said about the characters you meet along the way. There’s even voice acting for cut-scenes, as well as spooky sound effects to help with the atmosphere. It's your typical supernatural adventure game and I wonder if fans of the series compare it the original? All in all, nothing really sets The Unseen Fears: Outlive apart from the rest of the games in the genre, but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy the trip. Hence, you can easily spend a few hours solving quests and defeating monstrosities. I enjoyed this game and played with an open mind though I found myself comparing both editions. Demo and give this sequel a chance. Who knows? Some casual gamers may like this edition just as much as the first, if not more so. Cheers!
