Solitaire Adventures of Valentin The Valiant Viking is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game - you don't need fancy graphics! This game is just wonderful. Sometimes you just want to play a solitaire game and enjoy it. This game does it for me. Love the side game. Perfect for me! LOVE IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fun game I very much enjoyed this game. There were so many free wild cards plus the power-ups that it was easy to get three stars on every level. And you got lots of gold to buy extra wild cards or undo if you needed them. The mini games were great. There were a couple I could not solve even with following the walk through very closely. But overall they were great fun. This was a much better game than your average golf style solitaire. I hope they put out a sequel. Likely I will replay this one at some point to try to figure out where I went wrong in those two mini games. I do wish the developers had put a retry button in the mini games. So you could restart immediately if you knew you had made a wrong move.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HAS A FEW FLAWS BUT I LOVE IT WHEN DEVS "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX" I agree with the other reviewer that this game has a few issues, but it also has some unique features, and I will always give developers credit when they "think outside of the box" This is a Solitaire Adventure about a young Viking who can't seem to find his niche within the Viking Clan. Young Valentin has failed miserably in every weapons course offered so naturally, he jumps at the chance to save the fair maiden Princess Estelle from the clutches of an Evil Wizard. In return, the King will grant her hand in marriage to any brave warrior who returns his Princess unharmed. The graphics are designed to look like paper, although unusual, they are very creative. The music is a bit loud and repetitive and has no feature available to adjust the volume within the game itself, but my keyboard has volume controls so it's not a deal-breaker for me. You can choose between Normal and Themed Card styles. There is a brief tutorial to scroll through, which actually does explain the 4 Booster Cards. The first Booster Card removes any Gold Card, the second one removes any Closed Card, the third one removes any Open Card and the fourth Adds 2 Random Wildcards. You may also come across a Good/Bad Luck Card which either rewards you with Gold or Disables one of your Boosters for that level. The goal on every level is to remove the gold cards. The gold cards don't have a face value, they are just blank and require a simple click to remove them. Wildcards and Jokers that are uncovered also require a single click to add them to your stash to be used whenever you need them. (I prefer this over having to use them right then and there) Combos start at only 4 cards, and there are the usual obstructions such as Locked Cards that require uncovering the Key Card. Each of the 12 Locations is replayed several times, they have different layouts, but you will re-enter the location each time until the required Gold Cards have been collected. All that equals up to an average Solitaire game, but I added a fourth star for the Mini Games that in my opinion are really cool. After completing a level you must solve an Interactive Puzzle. Unfortunately, you must either wait 5 minutes before you can skip it or Click on the Walkthrough tab on the inventory bar and just complete the puzzle by direction. They aren't long, and personally, I enjoyed the puzzle more than the Solitaire game! Basically, you interact with the scene to get Valentin from point A to B. The cursor doesn't switch to a hand to say "pick me up" so you'll have to use your imagination and creativity skills to solve it. Items you find in the scene are added to your inventory and when you want to use that item, you'll have to scroll through the inventory and select "Equip" before an item can be used. by Playtinum Games: September 2-2009 Maharashtra Mumbai India "Playtinum is a fresh game development studio focusing on development of innovative casual games. Rated 3 out of 5 by from An Okay Game This is an excellent concept, combining puzzle solving with solitaire. Solitaire is straight forward with special actions that power up as you play, lots of jokers and wild cards and a shop to purchase undos. You follow Valentin in his adventure to become a real Viking and that's just fine. There are a few things that keep from making this a terrific game. The click speed on the solitaire game is slow. Since you have to click on all the jokers and yellow cards to clear them from the field, this slows the game down. Each of these cards has a short animation that it goes through before you can click another card. This also slows the game down. So rather than having a breezy solitaire, as the ricky-tic music suggests, you're moving slower. To be clear the game isn't slow especially, but it is slower than most experienced solitaire players will enjoy playing. The puzzles are fun and that's a plus for the game. The only con here is that you're given the goals for each puzzle at the beginning, but then have no way to see what they are once you close that screen. So, if you aren't certain what to do, you have to go to the walkthrough help to find out. I would say if you enjoy puzzles (such as are commonly found in HOGs) and don't mind a slightly slowed down solitaire, you'll find this game quite satisfactory.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BUYER BEWARE concept is good but delivery is lacking. From the time you click on a card to the time it actually takes to turn over is too long. Gamers like a smooth flowing game. The mini game is different but in a good way. You need to complete a list of objectives to move on the next level. You have to play the mini game to advance. It takes a full 5 min to be able to skip the mini game, and if for any reason you need to click out of the mini game screen, you have to start all over. I am not sure what the purpose is of collecting gold coins when there doesn't seem to be a store to cash them in. There are 4 characters showing at the bottom of the solitaire screen but you don't know what those characters do. You can't click on them to find out until the bar beneath them shows filled then you click on them. Mute the music or you will probably get a headache. Not the best solitaire game I have played.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slow Slow moving, not smooth. Could be cute if ran faster.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't bother After playing the demo for 4 minutes I couldn't stand playing it anymore. It's wayy to slow. Could be a fun game but the pace of which the cards turn over is frustratingly slow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Is there anything below 1 star for a rating? This is without a doubt one of the worst solitaire games I've ever played. NOT fun at all & the visual quality is the lowest I call recall ever seeing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst Solitaire game I have ever come across! From the graphics to the gameplay this game is the worst! Not only are the graphics hazy, the gameplay is very slow. I can't understand all the great reviews - I couldn't play more than 5 minutes. In my opinion, this game needs to be sent back to 2002!
