Fish Tycoon 2: Virtual Aquarium is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good relaxing game It is a good and relaxing game, and it is up yo you to decide how fast it should go. To use growth potion are cheaper than in the first edition, so you can really be going in a few hours if you do it right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT this is frickin AWSOME, its like so easy to play and neat. I play it while playing the Fishdom series, and some other games. Sometimes it takes time so you play another game come back but once you're rolling you got so many tanks the time factor lessons. This is AWSOME its what i live for in small crappy little games, and i hope these developers continue to pump out more tycoon stuff and stuff related. thank you for this and its just great having an addition to the couple games i play at once. Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is a great strategy game! Welcome back Tycoon I was very glad to see that a Tycoon game was available again. I bought it right away. Its not a tm game but I found it just as enjoyable. It is a good strategy game that takes a while to play. I hope they come out with more. I did not find it hard to figure out but it took some time to get use to the options again. The only thing I found negative is that it takes way too long between the hatching and the fish to become an adult. Maybe just a little less time would be great...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great game but... I am a huge fan of fish and plant tycoon so if you have not tried the first game you will not notice the changes. Though the graphics are so much better and the amount of different colored fish is incredible... I feel that they took away so many of the good and much needed things like the very important growth chart, so without paper and pen you must have a good memory to remember who breed with who. I miss in the store where you could at least clink on useful info to stop the boring time it takes to sell the fish, it would of been great if you could get a coin for every balloon popped and I do love the mascot and change of people though I do miss the kids. I love the music and the sound of the water, it is so calming and relaxing. All in all, This is a wonderful game, one that will give you many hours of intertainment. Now if we can just get them to do a "Bird Tycoon"... imagine the different kinds of birds, colored feathers and eggs living in different nests, they could do a lot with that and it could go a long way. Well I can still hope. I am thankful for games like this, ones that are not "fear" based and grim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW WHAT A GREAT THROWBACK! Great throwback to the old classic. I love Fish Tycoon 1 and must say, I'm loving Fish Tycoon 2 just as much if not more! The developers did a great job with this sequel, so much nostalgia! The game's mechanics are very simple, breed fish to make money and unlock rarer breeds! Happy Fishing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE.....I TRIED TO SELL FELIX This game is a little tricky at first to figure out, but once you do, it's kind of fun! It reminds me of Doodle God, the game where you combine two elements to come up with an entirely different element. That's exactly what you do in Fish Tycoon, only with fish, as you drag two fish into the breeding tank, and see what their offspring is. Then you sell them to make money, which allows you to buy supplies and decorations. It's a pretty simple game in reality, but the tutorial is horrible at explaining the basics, at least in my experience. It took me a while to figure out that I had to remain in the "shop" to sell fish, I thought selling the fish would take place while I was tending to my fish, but that wasn't the case. You just need to select 2 fish (they don't need to be the same species) from the aquarium, and place them into the breeding tank. After a few seconds, the magic takes place as indicated by the red hearts. You can click on any adult fish in the tank, to pull up the Species Information, which tells you the name of the species, if it's pregnant, it's health status, how well fed it is, and whether it's a common or uncommon species. Some fish play a vital role, such as keeping fish from becoming ill, so you will want to hang onto the important ones. Everything takes time, laying eggs, hatching eggs, and growing to adulthood, but lucky for us, there's products to purchase to speed up these processes. Insta-birth, insta-hatch and even insta-growth formulas can be purchased with money you earn selling fish, or completing various goals. You can also buy aquarium decorations, equipment upgrades, or items in the shop that will bring in more revenue. There are daily rewards as well, that are available every 24 hours. There are 7 Rare fish to discover, and a total of 21 different species. Rare fish require Research, which of course cost money, the higher the research required, the higher the cost. Within the research category are sub-categories for Advertising, Food research, and Environment research. You can have several different aquariums too, located at the top, next to the sell tank. Hopefully Felix can forgive us :) enjoy! Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am so happy I am a big fan of fish tycoon,if you haven't played the first one. Then it is like the free to play games in time but there are tricks to speed it up. Breeding and selling fish is what the game is about. If you have played the first one then there are some changes from the first, one you can't use it like you would as a screen saver to relax (a big one that last day of work did that I loved) second you have to press the esc button or not have it in full screen mode to shut the game down don't care much for that either. The fish are similar. For the good changes I will leave that alone and not be a spoiler alert. I bought it right after I downloaded it didn't even need my hour trial. And Now I played it a few hours I am glad I did, I really enjoy this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FINALLY...Fish Tycoon is BACK I was so taken with the original that I purchased this game without playing the demo. I love the visuals in this edition. The fish look real and the tanks look great. I have only been playing for about 2 hours but I am finding my way around. This edition does not have the time changing ability so I have to learn the wait times for eggs to hatch and mature but I can tell I am going to love this one as much as the first. Please come up with more games like this one...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost as good as the original I say almost in my title as there are a few problems with this version. Whenever I go into the settings it automatically adjusts the resolution to the worst and the screen becomes blurry. Thankfully I worked out what was happening and now know that I have to select the resolution, scroll to the bottom and then click. As for game play, the lack of extra profiles is a shame. That was a good feature in the first version as each of my children could have a profile and play but now there is only one, The no exit issue is a pain, how hard is it to put a quit button in the settings. The actual game play it self is almost identical to the original which is great, Newer graphics and sounds bring it into a new generation of players. If you did not play Fish Tycoon (PC) then be patient and you will catch on pretty quickly as to what to do. For those that did play the original this is a fun upgrade with potential )if they patch it) improvements on the first one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved the original There is no story line with this game. It is a simple premise of breed your fish, sell your fish and earn money along the way to buy all sorts of upgrades, new tanks, decorations etc. It is an upgraded version of the first Fish Tycoon game which I loved. There are magic fish to find along the way, and they each have a different effect on your tank. The tutorial is not the best and there is no way out of the game except to press the escape button. The graphics are pretty awesome, and they have kept to the quirky, sort of square people (except you can actually see who they are this time). My only downer on this game is that in the original you could speed up time. In this version you have to wait AGES for anything to happen. When your fish eventually does give birth you then have to wait AGES for it to become an adult before you can do anything else. Because of this it can make the game a tad boring (which is a great shame), and means it takes you a very long time to get extra tanks etc which you really really need to progress as there are a lot of fish to find by cross breeding. They have added the ability to be able to see a bigger family tree of a fish which means no more stacks of paper where you have had to note down which fish to breed with what . I love the addition of the side quests and the daily gifts. I really hope that the Devs bring out a new Plant Tycoon, but only if they keep the ability to speed up time. I am really at a loss as to why they left this part of the game out as I have scoured the game and I cannot find it, so PLEASE if anyone finds the time speed up that I have failed to find would they kindly let me know ! The only way to speed things up that I can see is to buy the insta birth and insta grow, but that takes all of your hard earned cash and then you can't buy what you need ! Some people may like the idea that they can do a little bit, shut it down, and then come back to it later, but I also think a lot of people will be put off the game because of the time element (again a great shame). I will stick with it because of it's beauty, but I will still be playing Fish Tycoon the original and moving a lot faster. Try it for yourself as it may be a perfect fit for you. The fish are very beautiful.
