Memoirs of Murder: Welcome to Hidden Pines Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Good Old Fashioned Murder Mystery! Bought this the other day and it does not disappoint. I am more than three quarters of the way through and it is just so refreshing to play a 'normal' game (no ghosts, evil aliens etc). that's not to say i don't enjoy the odd journey into fantasy/sci-fi. Playing both characters at various stages adds to the fun and excitement that is to be had playing this game. Bravo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Game is Like Playing a Mystery Novel! The plot of this game is particularly good. It's a typical murder mystery, but it's very much like something you'd find in a novel! I really like that as sometimes plots in games don't make much sense or you see them so infrequently that they can be hard to follow. The atmosphere is good, you get to see a lot of different types of areas. There are homes, a hotel, offices, a boardwalk, and more - good variety. Here and there a graphic will be pixelated or blurry, but not very often and it's nothing that hurts my enjoyment of the game. This is one of those rare games where you get to switch perspectives from being a female character to being a male character. Little details change along with the perspective, like the design of the hint button from a feminine hat to a masculine one. I really like switching perspectives, so I'm glad to see that in this game. There are collectibles and morphing objects, the former easier to find, the latter can be pretty difficult. The HOPs sometimes have two rounds of items to find within one puzzle, which I LOVE. I'm enjoying this game a lot and recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mystery HOG with a twist I really like this game. Firstly because as another viewer as said it is not "cookie cutter" The HOS have a lot of different variants, which keeps your interest up; some I've not seen before in other games. The collectible is "only" a gift box, and most are easy, but I missed a few that were really well hidden, and some because I got so caught up in the game I forgot to look. Fortunately, after you finish the bonus game it lets you go back and find them. Also the "Secret Room" in the extras has a nice twist in making you do more to find the objects and most were cleverly hidden! I'm glad I got the CE, but even an SE version would be good, because there is some first class sleuthing here. Occasionally you get to switch identities between the husband and wife protagonist, which worked very well. There were a couple of great red herrings too! The graphics were well done and true to the time period. I also loved the old timey map which was drawn like a tourist map:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have 100s of Hidden Object games but rarely review.... I have been playing games from BF for 8 years now but due to the fact that most games are reviewed by people that have written hundreds of reviews and usually do a great job at it, I almost never submit a review. However, after playing this game in its entirety, I simply had to review it. Everything about this game was new and exciting. It really was a truly unique experience. Although I always buy CE versions of games, I often don't play all of the extras, particularly if I haven't been completely satisfied by the initial game. Not only did I do all of the multitude of extras, I even watched the credits to complete my achievements. The story was wonderful and really was a head scratcher. The way that the characters worked and allowed the player to switch who they were playing as, was not necessarily a new twist but was done really well. And the HOPs were fantastic. They were all different and interesting enough that I played all of them again after the initial game and the bonus games were complete. But the truly unique aspect to this game was the way that the souvenir extra was done. I won't spoil it for those who haven't played it, but, trust me, it was a souvenir set up I had never seen before and really enjoyed. If you are an old HOP gamer like myself, believe me when I tell you that you will truly be happy you invested in this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice job! See the other reviews for details about game play. I just wanted to note that it's lovely to play a game that's a straightforward murder mystery without any silly supernatural nonsense. Not that I have any objections to supernatural plots per se, if they're well-written; I'm just bored of chasing Evil Mages who are collecting souls to revive their dead wives/children/sisters. Exciting once ... repetivie, dull, and unimaginative fifty times. So have fun! No demons, alchemy, magic, or talking animals in this one. Phew!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it A fun game with a nice little murder mystery. The HO scenes are clever and interesting and the games are "busy work fun" rather then hard. Everything about this game was enjoyable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When the Welcome Wagon is a Hearse... ...you might just be in Hidden Pines. The last of the boxes aren't unpacked before you find yourself accused of murder! Playing as either Mary or Aaron leads you to the same conclusion -- this is not the quiet little burg you hoped it would be. Eixpix has created a wonderful premise, well-fleshed interesting characters and a bagful of imaginative puzzles and HOP scenes. The graphics are eye-catching. Usually I ding developers for bonus games -- but this one carries on the theme of the full game and holds your interest from start to finish. Hope to see more of this series in the near future. I have a feeling that Hidden Pines holds a great many more secrets that will keep the Fletchers busy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game Pretty graphics, good voices to the characters. Good stories. Scenes change fast from one to the other. Fun playing Supreme Achiever at the end. Lots of extras at the end too. I really liked this. Remember checking it out on Beta and couldn't wait. Thanking this dev.
