Memoirs of Murder: Welcome to Hidden Pines is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great New Series I loved this game and am glad there's a new series underfoot that I enjoy. I'm not a fan at all of fantasy games, and there seem to be so many of them lately. Loved everything about this game. Was a nice length and the bonus chapter was good too. Enjoy !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from more like this please Am enjoying this game a lot! Graphics and music, story line, interactive play of the characters, different scenes and HO's super. Would like to see more of these types of mysteries. It just goes on and on and love it. Not short of interest for me at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from me This is one intriguing murder mystery you don't want to miss! In Eipix's new series Memoirs of Murder you begin by selecting your role as either Mary Fletcher or Aaron Fletcher, though it doesn't change the storyline which ever spouse you choose. Mary and Aaron Fletcher moved from the city to pursue a more relaxed way of life on Maple street in the small town of Hidden Pines. A town where everyone knows one another including small town gossip. The Fletcher's arrive and find a note left from the last tenants which reads: "take what furniture's left; we don't want anything related to this place"! (Suspicion #1). While unpacking, they receive an invitation to the annual town party from Mayor William Greenwald and his wife Dorothy Greenwald (who live across the street in a huge manor). One spouse begins looking for a bottle of champagne while the other heads across the street to greet the Greenwald's and attend the party. William Greenwald greets you when you arrive and asks you to sign the guestbook. You observe everyone who has been invited to this mustache theme soiree which include: •Mayor Greenwald •Dorothy Greenwald •Marvin Greenwald (William's brother) •Betty Parker (Diva of the silver screen) •The Family Attorney •Mildred the Housekeeper •Peter Jones (Employee of Greenwald Inc. who works on pier) After you sign the guestbook Mildred approaches you and asks if you would take Dorothy Greenwald's dinner up to her room. Dorothy has been confined to her bed with terrible headache's since her car accident some months ago. You somewhat reluctantly agree and take Dorothy her dinner. Upon meeting Dorothy (who is surprised by your presence)you hand her the dinner tray and begin talking. Dorothy remarks, "Welcome to the neighborhood, it's nice to finally meet you" ! Then she begins to eat the dinner....suddenly she shouts, "I ONLY TRUST MILDRED, DON"T TRUST ANYONE" ! Then she falls to the floor dead; she's been poisoned. You rush to the floor to inspect Dorothy's condition and find ash on her sleeve from the fireplace in her room. (Suspicion #2) You also find a secret box she had been holding (contents unknown). Stricken with panic by what you've just witnessed you head to the fireplace and see a small niche' behind a brick. You quickly stash the secret box behind the brick just in the nick of time and in walks Mildred... Mildred immediately accuses you of murdering Dorothy, the police arrest you and take you to the police station for questioning. It's now up to your spouse Aaron or Mary to discover who really murdered Dorothy Greenwald and the incredibly circumstances surrounding this fascinating mystery! Find out what happens next in this exciting new series; it will blow your mind! The development team at Eipix did an outstanding job with this new endeavor. This game is NOTHING like any of their previous series, not even DEAD RECKONING and Eipix was long overdue in introducing a new and original series! Eipix fans may appreciate all of the new and improved style and format of this new series. If you are bored with the numerous editions of various Eipix games series then you definitely have something to look forward to with this five star release. Cheers!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eh?! Played the demo...won't be buying the full version, unless It's on sale or something. Not too shabby, just not too interesting. This could probably be because the demo is super-short. Not cool, especially when this is 90% of why you'd purchase it or not. This? For me, would be a Not! But hey go for it!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from YEP, THIS VERSION IS KIND OF BORING TOO Welcome to Pine Hills, New England Aaron and Mary Fletcher, a quaint little town where everybody knows each other by name. You're just in time for the annual neighborhood party at Mayor William Greenwald's house. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine, and don't forget to don your mustache, this will be the perfect time to meet and greet your new neighbors and tell them a little bit about yourselves. They get to know you fairly well all right! Enjoy your first night's stay at your new home in Pine Hills. Unfortunately, your accommodations will be less than ideal, because the Mayor's wife has just been murdered, and you're the prime suspect! I had high expectations of this new series entry because of the title alone. It sounded like it would be similar to a tv series called Wayward Pines where the residents of this idyllic town pretended that life here was normal when in reality, they were surrounded by an electrically fortified fence. Anyone who tried to escape was executed in the town square. Because they were so intimidated, they were terrified of breaking the rules, so they acted as if everything was perfect, and wouldn't speak about all the "rules" they were forced to obey. Unfortunately, Pine Hills is nowhere near that interesting, and I don't understand why this game is any different than a Dead Reckoning game by this same dev. If I had to guess, I think they simply couldn't "imagine" a completely new storyline plot, so they decided to create a new series that they know will sell, just because it's a new game series. You will switch between characters (mom & dad) but this is a feature that was perfected in another devs series a long time ago, so this wasn't a feature to get overly excited about. The graphics are horrible! Once again, the graphics are faded with a whitewashed appearance, everything is huge and lacks detail. It's impossible to make a connection with a game when the graphics are cold and uninviting, they look like the graphics you'd expect from an older "video game console" you just picked up at a garage sale for a buck! As far as the CE version's worthiness, this game falls short there as well, offering a hidden Present in each scene and Morphs within the HOP's. The presents are impossible to overlook, they are brightly colored (especially in contrast to the dull yellowish colored scenery) and to make it more obvious, they have a huge red bow and ribbon around each present. (what do presents have to do with a murder or anything for that matter? Once again a huge disconnect) I'm sure many will love this who-dun-it mystery, but it just didn't float my boat. The Hidden Object Scenes vary with just about every type, Interactive List finds, Keywords in Sentences, Multiple Item finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, Replacing items into the scene, and Progressive Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds where you find an item that matches the Silhouetted Shape, and then use that item within the scene Interactively to find the next item. In the CE version, each HOP has a Morphing Object. Some of the HOP's are well done, however, the graphics aren't that impressive and one of the HOP's with keywords didn't make a whole lot of sense as far as related items go. The Mini-Games aren't bad for the most part, some of which are new or have newish twists. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter in the demo and a few after the demo: 1) Replicate a signal pattern using arrows to change sections. 2) Select when footprints are on a stable section. 3) Move plate to keep balance within the outer circle. 4) Rotate 3 disks to fill the center entirely. 5) Move thru a maze to pick up and use items to progress. 6) Rotate numbered tiles to correct combination slots. 7) Draw a continuous line by selecting gems to match the map 8) Swap plates on the bottom to match the information on top. 9) Guide ball to the top using knobs & arrows to direct airflow. The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, (very uninteresting picture choices) 8 Concept Art pictures (simplistac pictures of characters/actors standing or sitting in midair) 5 Music Soundtracks (who cares?) 6 Movie Cutscenes) 15 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, a Secret Room, Mahjong Games (boring) 18 re-playable Min-Games, 33 not-so-hidden Presents, 24 Achievements to earn (most of which are automatically earned just for progressing in the game and doing things you have no choice to do to progress) 15 Morphing Objects (HOP's only!) 4 Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't really like it. This game wasn't fun, pretty boring.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Confusing interface Based on the demo. Once you get into the game, you collect clues to the murder, but you can't look at them until you remove the bookshelves from the wall. Why? (Why not spread them on the floor or on a table?) And why remove clues from a crime scene? I'm going to be sent to jail for interfering with a police investigation! But accept this as the premise for the game and move on... However, the inventory could only be scrolled with an arrow on the far left. And when you get stuck, the hints aren't very helpful. As with the bookshelves, the hint was to look at the clues in my pack that I couldn't look at because I hadn't yet pinned them to the wall! For me not worth struggling through the rest of the game.
