Customer Reviews
Adventures of Megara: Antigone and the Living Toys is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Houston, we have a problem First off, I can't deny, I enjoyed this game (Please read reviews for the CE) However, and this is a major problem. This game first off will not work on 32 bit machines yet nowhere does it say this. Secondly, I have no problems at all with my game, it runs very smoothly and I really enjoyed it. I had no problems with it slowing up or having to multi click. However others do, even those with 64 bit machines so I can completely understand the 1 star reviews as they should be able to play a game that works. I would suggest a fix needs to be made here as it is a bit of a risk to purchase this game when there is a chance you may have trouble. As for the game, it is a good game and there are many different things occurring even operating switches in the right sequence to get the colored lasers to open the gate. This is why this gets 3 stars from me but If there is a flood of 5 star reviews then developers think there is no problem and continue on, but there is a problem with this game even though I did not have one. It is in every ones interest to get this fixed. Great game but needs attention so we can all play it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute Game The game colors were bright and pretty. The buildings and characters were very cute and artistic. I was able to play to level 9 within the hour and find all the green pieces for 10 points each. Story line was adorable with the little girl and her kitten. So far her only use has been in the story line changing toys to moving objects. Otherwise it was a normal TM type game. Gather food, wood, gold in order to fix or get objects. I did not have any technical problems. I did not figure out what the turn around was changing. I did notice in the case of one of the lumber mills - I was expecting the log to show up onto an outside disk. Instead a green circle filled up around the building and you clicked on the building. There was a disk right next to it where the circle around it changed to green and either food, wood, or gold showed up. At first that confused me until I realized both the building and the disk contained items. This also happened with one of the farms. The robots were silly and after you destroyed them, they changed to rocks that you then destroyed. It took a long time to be able to get a second person. I could not get enough credits to gain anything but a helmet. You are suppose to dress the knight in his armor for extra strength or magic. Adorable dragon showed up but haven't seen him but once. The music was grading and annoying after second round and I turned it off. Not a bad game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money I really wish I had. Game was very basic "remove the spell off the tin soldier". It was over within an hour. I've been a big fish customer for a long time, very unhappy with this game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time I wanted a game I could chill with during lockdown. I tried the demo and it worked fine and was quite nice so I used my free game. I regret that now. As the game progresses it gets real frustrating. On scenes with lots of water shimmer or fog the movements become totally jerky and you have to keep clicking on areas to collect items so you are unable to get any stars because of it. Very disappointed I wasted my free game on this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love thy _brother At first, I thought I was going to really like this game because they have a couple of new features, one of which is where you earn red gems to purchase 5 sections of each piece of equipment, each of which gives you a bonus ability, and when all 5 are purchased, you get an even stronger ability. They also got creative with the Achievements which unlock various tasks and award you with red gems when you reach various milestones. The problem I ran into, however, was that the music was hideous, it sounds like organ music from an old movie and it gets really loud in an attempt to make the game seem more dramatic than it actually is. Okay, I can turn the music off and play in silence if I have to (who wants to do that?) but then I noticed that the game seems to lag, resources wouldn't appear on the platforms for a split second after it had turned green, not to mention that a farm showing wheat being harvested would produce grapes, and gold mines produce shiny gold coins in mint condition? I found myself having to click on some resources a few times before the click would finally be accepted, and sometimes it would let me click on a resource that was blocked, but then it wouldn't let me remove it from the queue? I talked to several people who have 32-bit computers and they can't even play this game, they get nothing but a black screen! I have a 64-bit computer, so I'm not sure what the issue is? If you can get this game to work smoothly, and you don't mind the hideous music that gets unbearably loud at times, it does have some interesting features. The Puzzle Runes (50) are a bit hard to miss, and they refer to them as "hidden" but they are neon green and quite large? I did enjoy the creature that could Petrify you, but one of the "abilities" you can purchase with the red gems is to lower the probability of being petrified! The CE version has 50 Main Levels but just 5 Bonus Levels according to the Strategy Guide, as well as 10 Concept Art pictures and 4 Music Soundtracks which I guarantee I will not be downloading! I have opened my own forum, so you can find all of my series' lists at thewoodsforum.boards.net :)
