Chimeras: What Wishes May Come Collector's Edition is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from is this really a Chimeras ???? Overall i didn't mind the storyline - however i really wonder if it should be in the Chimeras series. I have all the Chimeras in the series - and i am sitting on the fence to decide whether this should actually be part of the Chimeras series. I purchased this on a 60% discount - wouldn't paid full CE price only because of the length (or rather shortness of the game) The puzzles are repeats of puzzles already out there (why can't we get some new puzzles ? Perhaps the developers need to look at some of the very old games such as Surface - the soaring city and maybe just update the puzzles to reflect todays standards. The hidden objects are a little better because it is not just looking for objects in a pile The game was SHORT - developers need to realise that we spend a lot of money on these games and need to give us something in return - such as - a decent game length. I am going to recommend it only if you get it on special. Try before you purchased - happy gaming :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I WISH I MAY, I WISH I MIGHT, HAVE A GAME THAT REQUIRED THOUGHT TO PLAY Completed Game approximately 4.0 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) 16 Main Game Scene Locations +9 Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginner Just when you've hit the lowest rung on the ladder, the bottom of the barrel, the absolute lowest point in your life where all hope is lost, along comes a Genie to grant your wishes. This ain't no Disney Genie, he's ruthless, intimidating, and deceitful as he tricks the vulnerable into exchanging a year of their life for What Wishes May Come...always read the fine print! Audio/Visuals: Elephant Games has always had the most amazing graphics, hands-down...they are still crystal clear in What Wishes May Come but they don't hold a candle to how they were back in the day. Don't believe me, download one of their original games, sit back and say WOW! I can't say the same for the audio because most of their games have weird audio gaps where things go radio silent but in an obvious awkward way. Gadgets/Helper: Technically, the genie is a Gadget. His lamp is only used a handful of times but there are no tasks or repetitive games involved, he just simply appears to wreak havoc. Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only): Elephant Games used to have the most amazing morphing objects back in the day. Then Elephant Games took a drastic change graphics-wise and the morphs became so large and obvious that morphing objects became nothing more than clickables. During this same timeframe, this developer seemed to lose interest in creating games of the same standard. They chose to stop designing games that required the player to figure out how to solve the task at hand. Those tasks were replaced with nothing more than emblem fittings at every door, drawer, closet, and mailbox...no thought required for either party! Now E-Games has chosen to abandon Morphing Objects altogether...don't even get me started on the fact that they ditched Elf in the MT series!! There are 12 boring zoom zone collectible cards and the usual 48 zoom zone jigsaw puzzle pieces that make 4 screensavers. Hidden Object Scenes: There are 16 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter with no alternate games available. The Hidden Object Scenes vary with Listed Item Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Finding 12 Flowers, Combination Finds hidden behind objects (? + ? = Cufflink) Finding & Replacing Items. The objects were super easy to spot because Elephant Games graphics department hasn't seemed to master the art of blending after all these years. On a good note, some of the scenes themselves were unique such as finding objects interwoven on several dreamcatchers, on the Genie's back, or located on family portraits. Mini-Games: There are 16 Mini-Games +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. I didn't encounter any new puzzles, they were all revamped mini-games you've solved a hundred times, such as dragging chips along a path using directional arrows, connecting all gems without overlapping paths, swapping triangular sections to complete the photos, restoring a painting using directional arrows along the edges to scroll through different square sections, clicking on scarabs to adjust the direction of lines to match the blueprint shown, moving tokens along tracks to their matching slots, dragging chains until the snake charms align with the tabs on the left side (1 affects others) There was only one mini-game I really enjoyed where you played a card game with a fortune-teller trying to earn more Hourglass cards by matching 4 identical cards before the fortune-teller. Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only) Sarah and Robert are paranormal investigators that find themselves in a pickle when Robert makes a wish to have the roar of a lion and the speed of a snake. Anyone can see that combining these two creatures can't be good and now Sarah has to perform a ritual to save her beloved Chimera, a.k.a Robert There are 5 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes, (+1 zoom zone HO) and you will continue your search for the final 3 Collectible Cards and 12 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces which allows you to complete the final 12 piece Jigsaw Puzzle Screensaver. Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only) 5 extremely uninteresting Wallpapers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 22 Achievements, 14 Replayable Mini-Games, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 48 Zoom Zone & Scene Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 4 Screensavers (four 12 piece jigsaws) 12 Collectible Inspirational Cards, an Expedition Room (return to scenes to search for missed Cards and/or Puzzle pieces) a Secret Room (Timed-Progressive HOG) 3 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow-Drawn Out Tasks-Not CE Worthy My review is based on the Demo only as I will not purchase this game. It is slow moving with much to read and long drawn out tasks. When you think you have finished with the task....nope, there is still one or two things you must do just to retrieve whatever it is you need. I felt the voice overs were very poorly done. Very little inflection in the voices and certainly no excitement. The collectables are okay but again no morphing objects or anything to actually hunt for and keep your interest held. Again, I will ask BF to let us use 2 coupons to purchase a CE game. We got them from purchasing CE and BF truly does not have many games that I feel are worth spending money on. They used to. Anyway, try this game and see what you think!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short, AGAIN! I will never know how people can get so much gameplay from Elephant Games these days. I barely got to 3 hours, and I played all mini games except one and I purposely played more slowly as I had a feeling it might be short. I don't have much to say as I'm tried of paying so much money for really short games. I think this is the last Elephant Games game I will buy now, or I might use a free game coupon. Everyone says to end on a positive note though.......errr....yeh I like the graphics on Elephant Games, clear and well put together. Good mixture of minigames, HOGs and gameplay. Hate too many minigames and HOGs as it makes for very disjoined play, but this had a good amount. Its such a shame because these games could be great if they were longer. But hey ho!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Chimera in Sight So we have Derek who blames himself for a car accident which puts his wife into a coma. Out pops a genie and grants him a cure for his wife. Of course Derek takes the deal, then realizes he's been tricked. This could have been really good. But it wasn't. Acting was so boring it was like watching paint dry. Game was totally linear. Puzzles were extremely easy. HOS were dark and easy. Not many collectibles or puzzle pieces to fid. It certainly didn't warrant the CE price tag.. The bonus chapter was more of the same. Short. Way short. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Elephant has lost its gaming touch and I really don't think they care. After the conclusion to the Haunted Hotel series, I said I wouldn't buy another Elephant game. That's how disgusted I was with their ending to a 20 game series. This time I mean it. Never again. It took me about 2 hours to play the entire game plus the bonus chapter and I took a few breaks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chimeras: When wishes DON'T come true When I saw a new Chimeras game I was looking forward to playing it. But alas my wish for a new enjoyable fun Chimeras game did not come true. Played the demo in short order on the intermediate level. Boring. Same old (genie or not), same old ho-hum. Will definitely NOT be purchasing this game. Come of BF get new games, new puzzles etc.... you're on your way to losing another member.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dumb Derek A car crash has left Christina in a coma and Derek feels responsible, wishing he could undo what happened. Meanwhile, Mr. Genie popped out of a lantern which was found in the bushes. After dumb Derek agreed to his terms, he releases Christina from her coma. Suddenly, she is at home and the doctor didn't even have a clue. What lies ahead for Derek now? Nothing good, I imagine. The characters were all dull and expressionless, with no movement, the doctor's eyes were creepy. Voice-overs were awful, lacked emotion, like bad actors reading the script very slowly. Couldn't stand it! The graphics were unappealing and dark, colors were drab. The artwork not up to par, making objects more obscure. I had trouble bringing items out of inventory because cursor was slow and jerky. Switching to my own wasn't much better. The tasks to complete and items involved were silly, too many activities to obtain what I needed. There were lots of letters to read, locks, keys, missing handles, etc. It wasn't fun and resulted in my progress through the demo slowing to a snail's pace. The HOPs were just okay, scenes were dark, objects vague and hard to recognize, some very small. The few puzzles I played were the only entertainment I found. Rare for me, since I am not a puzzle lover. Finding the collectibles was slightly difficult due to poor graphics, side indicators kept count of them as well as the achievements. Custom Mode allowed 15 seconds recharge for Hint and Skip which seemed like a lifetime. I guess you can tell I was not thrilled with this game! I did complete the demo, but not enough good stuff to make me want to purchase. This might be a very entertaining game. Is there vast improvement in the series, as mentioned by another reviewer? Is it action-packed? Is it worthy of 5 stars? I don't think so, considering the contents of the demo. I hope I am wrong and that this game will not disappoint all the Elephant Games fans who have waited so long for a great one to arrive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst in the series! Used to love these! I wish the developers would focus more on quality games and keep up with the the competition. This game was boring and definitely not CE worthy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It is bad! I played the demo because of the reviews. Sometimes I find the game is actually better for me than what others thought but lately so many games have been lousy and short and still priced as high I've started playing the demo first. This one lived up to the majority of the reviews. It's bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from $13.99 for this!! It's only 272 mb for $13.99!! Ridiculous. The quality is awful as the pointer moves very hesitantly and slow. I immediately deleted from my download. It seems for this price you can do better with more mbs for this game. Step up your quality or I definitely will cancel my membership. These games you are putting out there now are little to no effort at all.
