Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for those new to Nancy Drew This is my 3rd Nancy Drew game I finished . This game was much easier then the others I played. I still had to go to the forum for help a couple times but I was ok with that. This had a funny side to the game (as long as you read your inbox) Do read the inbox, what looks like odd unusual emails is actually hints. This is a good game for anyone beginning Nancy Drew games, not as complex. There are parts that stumped me. Instead of trying for days, I just went to the forum. I think I'm the only one that made Nancy gain 5 pounds. Everytime I was stuck I ran and grabbed a burger at the hotel. Thank goodness the game ended, I would of never wanted to see my bill for room service. (haha). On a different note, This games has a rather sad plot. Trying to recall childhood memories you blocked out due to the pain of them. The game is not sad at all. But I suggest reading up about the game, before buying. Well happy eating and playing

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Beginners to the Nancy Drew Series This is one of the simpler and older of the Nancy Drew series of games. It's good for a beginner or for someone who wants a less scary game. On the negative side, the puzzles are not as challenging and the game is not as long as some others I've played. On the plus side, the story is good, with some funny characters to meet and interview.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun but short - a little too easy I'm playing all the ND games in order of release and this one by far is the easiest and shortest of them. Fun Factor: Despite the brevity of the game and it's ease, it was still fun. I had a blast playing the games ;P LOL Probably wasted too much time on them but I was having fun so that was all that mattered hehehe Visual/Sound Quality: The art work / sketch designs for the horses and such was just beautiful. Aside from that, I'm afraid this game came up rather short in character animations and personality. Not the best. Level of Challenge: VERY intuitive. Frankly, it was impossible to not know what to do next. It was a bit more hand-holding and spoon feeding than was necessary. The puzzles were a breeze, but lots of fun. I loved the checklist functionality - they finally obliterated the need for taking any notes whatsoever. For the first time (since starting the ND series of games) the navigation wasn't a nightmare and there was no constant running back and forth - no bloated playtime at all! Storyline: ok.. so this is where I was disappointed. One of the trademarks of ND games is the enrichment of the story through historical backgrounds. While the game did have some history to it - history on Carousels - it really came up short. It seemed like the story just didn't have the depth that was par for ND games and felt more like it was thrown together in a rush. There was quite a lot more that could have been included and the tidbits of history thrown in just didn't seem part of the storyline. I'm not expressing this well.. sorry, but in other ND games, the history was embedded into the story so to speak and here it was more like a trivial addition. hmm. still not expressing it right. Anyhow, the story really came up short in this game. Despite the ease of the game play, brevity, and the paper thin storyline, it was still a lot of fun. Can't explain why, but I still had fun. Must have been all the games ;P I still recommend it - but probably best to buy when there is a 2 for 1 sale or something.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from IT WAS DEPRESSING!!!! For an older game I didn't expect a lot of challenge and there wasn't.. I'm trying to play my way through all ND games and just started playing them a couple months ago and was hooked! Some games are hard, some hard and fun and so on! The Story with Joy and (Miles The Memory Machine) I'm sorry but it just completely depressed me! They really ruined the game with that story Nancy helps Joy to figure out and remember. It may not bother other people but I play to escape reality so the last thing I want in a game is to have bad memories pulled up and have my mood dragged down! Besides that there really weren't any redeeming qualities to the rest of the game either. Ugh!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too short!! This game is a classic but sadly not my favorite. I find this game length is wayyy too short, there is very less excitement and scare factor and you basically can't go anywhere but clicking on the map. I got so bored talking to Miles the Memory Machine, he just keeps on talking with no tone. Very boring. The ending ends very quickly with almost no fighting from Nancy. Sadly, again, not my favorite.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst games I have ever played. Very little to do and they have this weird midway game that it like an old fashion pong game with very little ability to move the paddle. I quit half way through and never finished.
