Escape the Lost Kingdom is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Escape The Lost Kingdom This is a very unusual Hidden Object Adventure. The Reed family, Laura and Henry, and their two children, Emily and Francis, visit a museum featuring Egyptian art. When their cat Jinxie gets away from them, they follow the mischievous feline and discover the Lost Kingdom. When they encounter hidden passages and traps, the entire family gets separated which allows you to choose individual family members and join them as you try to escape, eventually you will choose all members to portrait. If you own a pair of 3D glasses, you can choose this feature in the options section, I didn't use this feature. Francis has a pair of Glyph goggles which will allow you to "see" which parts of the scene you can interact with, but it's really a worthless feature, unless it's more difficult to spot in the 3D mode. Emily has a Time Amulet which let's you "see" the past which basically shows you how items or secret passages worked in the past, therefore in the present. Mom and dad have a Tool Bag with basic tools such as a crowbar, shovel, and hammer. The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly easy list finds (some multiple items) well lit, but with basic graphics and there are usually at least 2 HO's in each location. The Mini Games are decent, but not too complex such as repeating the pattern sequence shown or clicking on several lights until all of them are blue. My favorite game was similar to Shape Shifter where you click to pick up items from the inventory bar and place them on their matching slots that are moving in 3 or 4 rows at the top of the screen. Enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rule No. 1 - Keep Your Family Together. Your family is taking a trek across Egypt but your daughter brought along the cat, who got loose in a museum and ended up in a Pyramid. Of course, you all go in the pyramid after it....then...well havoc ensues. It's not bad enough you are lost in this pyramid but when a secret door opens off goes your daughter on her own - then BAM - there's a cave in and you tell her to stay there - but does she? You find a side door and proceed that way but before your son can get through - BAM AGAIN - the door closes. You holler for him to stay there - but does her? This is a story about a family lost in a pyramid because they couldn't follow Rule No.1 - stay together. You get the opportunity to place each of the son, daughter and parents. Going through rooms, finding items, getting lost, etc The graphics are poor. Probably because it was meant for 3D vision glasses - it says that at the beginning of the game. It was ok but I won't purchase it. However, I always try to recommend others to give it a whirl. Happy Gaming.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A GREAT GAME FOR KIDS, FUN, EASY, SHORT, HISTORICAL EGYPT BASED ON COMPLETED GAME IN EXPERT MODE This is a cute, fun, easy, short game. I enjoyed playing it, but the whole time I thought maybe I had purchased a kids' game by accident. As the other reviewers have said, it takes place in Historical Egypt which is awesome. The atmosphere is amazing and makes you feel as if you really are travelling with the family. Of course the family becomes separated and trapped while looking for the cat and have to figure their way out. To do this, they must restore and reverse history. It's a lot of fun. My only caution is I think this is more a game for kids, not adults. I found it to be way too juvenile for me, but I'm judging it "as if" I were still in that age bracket. By today's standards it seemed too old-fashioned. You just get pictures of the characters and their lips don't move (for example.) If you want a game you can play with your kids this is it. Enjoy! LIKED: Likable characters Egypt, lots of amazing scenes Time amulet and goggles the kids use Game unfolded in chapters As I finished a scene it said "area cleared" Map that showed active areas, but it was not a jump map Journal which gave me clues Being different characters within the same game Easy HOS and mini games LOVED: Nothing DISLIKED: Poor graphics, items seemed blurry to me Way too short and ended abruptly Lack of challenge HATED: Nothing. BOTTOM LINE: Great kids'/family game that's easy and quick, but not a game experts will enjoy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So-So Game I wanted to like this game, but had so much trouble getting it to play nicely with my security software that it was very frustrating. I finally resorted to disconnecting a laptop from my home network and shutting down the security software to get the game to play properly. This has never happened with any of the 90+ games I've purchased on Big Fish. Having said all that, the game was okay. A family is visiting Egypt and gets separated in a tomb that contains a curse. Once the family members are separated, you end up playing as each family member (and you choose the order of play). Each family member has a "hook" during game play - the son has glyph goggles, the daughter has a time amulet and the parents have a tool kit. There are HOS and mini games. There is a map showing the location of each family member and which areas have been cleared. The map is helpful as you work your way through the game. The graphics are okay, the family members are cartoonish and didn't fit with the background graphics. The voice overs are well done. The game has a satisfying ending. If I had not experienced so many difficulties trying to get the game to run, I would have rated it higher. I was so frustrated, it affected my perception of the game. I was disappointed that, after all the effort to get the game to run, it was a very short game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Great... Not completely awful With the addition of a better hint button to show you an exact location to highlight the items you missed (items that I must add tend to blend entirely too well into the scenes making it VERY difficult to find), this might have been more enjoyable and relaxing compared to just being frustrating... The "help" buttons don't help at all, just tell you to keep looking around... no good when you are trying to find a tiny object in a big scene that blends in! Also a better map and way to get around to the different rooms, might have been better... The voice acting I found very annoying, and the storyline just not that enthralling or interesting at all... Also it was quite short. While is wasn't great, it wasn't completely awful, but there are most definitely much better games to download!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I did not care for this game The graphics were a mix of cartoon and picture, which seemed unbalanced to me, and the storyline just did not draw me in. I found clicking on the goggles and the amulet distracting from the overall play of the game.
