The Clockwork Man: The Hidden World is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from An Enjoyable Game ... Graphics, Sounds & Story OK ... Some Nice Graphics Ideas (Panning & Zooming Scenes) ... I Tried The Original First And Could Not Get Into It ... This Follow Up Game Is Definitely A Lot Better To Play ...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a very challenging game for me i didn't really like this game that much. no skips. it had a good storyline, but it took forever to finish. others might that, i had to keep cheating to finish. it is about a woman that goes exploring and winds up finding people she didn't expect to find. if you are like me and want to be able to skip some games.....try the demo first to be sure you will be happy spending the money. the hint button and item locator are both slow charging. there is a diary and an interactive map but the map is so-so for helping.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not much Clockwork I really liked the first Clockwork Man game. I like the little guy and he seemed an integral part of the game. In this one he was not much of a player. It seemed more that they used the name just so there would be familiarity and those who liked the first would be drawn to this one. There was no real reason it needed to be clockwork anything. The game could have stood on it's own. The play was good, the puzzles interesting and different from the typical HOG puzzle. One I found particularly challenging which produced a frustratingly fun time. Often the puzzles are repetitive and easy. These were unique and entertaining. As with most HOGs the ending was a let down. The finish doesn't involve any sort of challenge. There's a movie scene, then she puts her hand on a column which activates something that sucks the bad guy away. Then there's another movie which goes on for about 5 min, it seemed, explaining backstory and oh I don't remember I wasn't really listening. I was wishing there had been something for me to do rather than click to speak with the guy. In review: Game play was good, HOG scenes challenging, unique fun puzzles. I gave it 3 stars because the Clockwork Man was not any real part and the ending just happened with no challenging puzzle or HOG scene or participation by the player.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tedious, Boring & Ever So Sloooow! Had difficulty right off the bat in the mine. It was the usual cluttered junk pile with hard to distinguish teeny, tiny objects. The robot button & hint button take a very looong time to replenish. The story line drags & I felt that I was getting nowhere fast. The scenes were not crisp & difficult to make out due to all the clutter. The voice overs were nice & the music reminded me of the type you hear while receiving a massage!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What A Shame! This game has so much going for it. The story is fun and easy to follow (although the time jumps make it more confusing than it ought to be), the graphics are delightful, the characters are lovable. Your robot companion has three ways of helping you with different hint styles. All of which recharge separately. The voice over is good, ambient sound fine. The HO scenes are well put together, puzzles challenging. It also has one of my favourite features: scrollable screens. Now for the reasons I don't like this game. There really aren't that many HO scenes in this game. Most of the time is spent travelling between two or three scenes to pick up one item. This is not picking up after a HO scene or puzzle; this is literally going back to a scene to find one thing then having to move on. And I mean two or three scenes literally too. You never have access to more than that at once. You’d think that would at least appeal to beginners, right? Nope! Despite the monotony it was annoyingly finicky monotony that I don’t think would help newcomers at all. This boring and repetitious gameplay totally spoiled the game for me. I wish it were a better game – so much good work has obviously been put in.
