The Treasures of Mystery Island: The Ghost Ship is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game! Generally speaking, the graphics are great, the music is nice, and the storyline is quite original and interesting. I especially liked the way they used the ship model: you meet ghosts (harmless ones, not scary at all), get them what they need, only to see them reduced to wooden figurines which you then put in the ship model to get something that *you* need. Pretty cool! Speaking of storyline, I do wish they would not use that whole idea of aliens' being our ultimate "saviors." But at least that idea is not emphasized too much in this game. I should also note that I usually don't like Hidden Object games in which you look for, not an object, but *pieces* of objects. But it's not a problem in this game. The pieces are really quite easy to find and if you are having too much trouble finding that last piece, you can always use the Hint, available in both the Casual and Expert difficulty modes. In fact, you can use the Hint in the game itself. In addition, the Map is also quite helpful, indicating where an action is possible. I wish it also helped us get from one location to another by just clicking on a location, but it does not do that. But that's really not a problem, since there are actually four sets (parts of the island) of locations, we visit only one set at a time, and there are not too many areas in each set. Finally, there are 56 Morphing Objects, basically one in every location except for the first set on the map, which has 13 locations but you get only 12 morphing objects. These objects are pretty easy to find also. If you can't readily see one, just move your cursor around to find a clutching hand, which is used both to pick up an object for your inventory as well as to "catch" the morphing object. In short, this is a wonderful game. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Different!Loved it! Normally I hate FROGS,especially when the items are so tiny...but I played this game while house sitting for a friend and the storyline drew me in to the point Ididnt care about the above things which normally would make me not even try the game. I found the storyline compelling;what you think is going to be your run of the mill haunted ship story turns out to encompass ALOT more. I liked the simple yet perfect sound track...for me a good music score in a game as in a movie can draw you in or leave you out...this was simply perfect. In fact I still am thinking this storyline would make a awesome movie! A must to play even if you are not a FROG player! If you love solving really interesting plots, you must try this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely terrific game! I have more than 200 Big Fish games, and this was the first that I enjoyed so much that I felt I had to submit a review. Great story and mini games as well as challenging fragmented objects (the more typical HOS bore me). I also enjoyed the morphing objects, game length and ending. Well worth the money! Although I would have appreciated a map that included jumps (too much time spent clicking to get from one scene to another), I’ll be trying the earlier games in this series, and I’ll definitely be replaying this one. This game helped ease my frustration re the number of excellent games that haven't migrated (at least not yet) from Windows to the Mac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic gem of a game I was sceptic at first when I started playing but it did not take long to totally get hooked. I could not stop playing but eventually had to. It is a very long game, hard to find. Morphing objects included. The items to find, instead of your regular HOS are frags and sometimes hard to make out. You have to help individual ghosts, and put them back on the ship, by putting wooden figurines of them in their own ship cabins. This is a very captivating game, hard to explain, you have to try it yourself. I did not want it to end. I don't know hwy I did not try this game before, and thanks to one of my favorite developers, they ran a special and I saw this game. Great graphics, gorgeous scenes with lots to do, minigames somewhat easy, but it all makes sense. Try it, it is now one of my favorite games ever, and I own many.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!! This was my first time playing a hidden object game. Couldn't put it down. I played for hours until I solved it...then played it again :-) Since I've solved it twice, I sought a new challenge and started playing other hidden object games. Turns out, The Treasures of Mystery Island: Ghost Ship is one of the best ones. The major differences are better graphics/visual quality, an option to play in casual or expert mode (which ensures that you're never scratching your head trying to figure out what to do next), a search for items that you actually are required to use to fulfill your task instead of some arbitrary "Where's Waldo" type deal where you're looking for animals, numbers, symbols or food and a major feature of the game I enjoyed was that you could switch between the "Find" and "Use" tab. (The "Find" tab shows you a picture of the parts of an item you're to locate, not just the word...even-so, it's still very challenging).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than expected. I thought this would be another decent hidden object game--nice graphics and gameplay but nothing very original. Wrong. This is a fairly long game, and it does have nice graphics, sound, and gameplay, but it also had a surprisingly good story that really carried me along. There are no voiceovers, but the dialog is easy to read, adding enough detail without being too lengthy. It is a fragmented object game, so you do spend a fair amount of time assembling things and figuring out where and how to use them. You also have to run around a bit, from scene to scene. I mention this as some people seem to dislike these features. I love adventure games, and enjoy having to figure everything out without too much hand-holding, so this was a win for me. There is a map showing which locations still need something to be done, and there are good hints if you need a little help. A journal records most of what you find or read, so you don't need to make copious notes. There are morphing objects to be collected, which I think is fun. I wish they would give you a little treat for collecting them all (like a wallpaper or song), or at least a sort of trophy room where you could look at all of them. Overall, a really nice, very entertaining game that is, in my humble opinion, a good step above average.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adventure FROG I like FROGs (fragmented object games) much more than HOGs (hidden object games) so it was an easy decision to get this one. It's mostly an adventure game though, and a pretty well-constructed one. The game is divided into four chapters, corresponding to different parts of the island, each containing about 15 locations. A few are open at the beginning and you unlock more locations as you proceed. There is a good map that indicates locations where you can do stuff. The fragmented objects can be a little tricky to find as they are on the small side and could be in a different orientation from what's displayed in the object list. All fragmented objects become inventory items when you find all the pieces. The puzzles are of average difficulty (i.e. easy) for a casual game. I liked the way the story unfolded. You're working to prevent a catastrophe and often when you enter a location, some text is displayed with the name of the location, and how much time you have left until the climactic event. It gives a good sense of urgency. I played the second game in the series (but not the first) but this story doesn't seem to have any connection to it. Maybe I just don't remember the story well enough. I believe the presence of "morphing objects" are new though. These are small objects that slowly morph into a different object then back every few seconds or so. They have no effect on gameplay but are a nice added challenge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A treasure of a Hidden Object Game! I was pleasantly surprised to find this game an enjoyable way to pass the time. I have not had much luck finding any decent games lately, but this one is a keeper! Although the graphics and overall art work are nothing to write home about the gam eitself played well. It went smoothly and quickly. There is no problem finding any of the items even tho' they are well hidden. There is a bonus to this game that I particularly enjoyed and that was the "hidden beyond" objects. There are 56 altogether. I always enjoy a game when it has that little hidden plus in it. None of the items are so far placed that you feel you'll never find them. This game plays so smoothly that you can almost find a rhythm while finding objects, lol. Many games just don't make sense and you find yourself wandering over the land trying to find a way out. This game doesn't leave you hanging. Hints are readily available as well as skips for puzzles. One surprise is that there are actually no hidden object puzzles in this game at all, but, I would definitely recommend this game and am placing it on my "wish list".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, long, fragmented object game I loved, loved, loved this game! It is very long, I spent more than 10 hours on it and didn't want it to end. I will replay it, and I hardly ever replay a game. It has a morphing object in each scene to add to the fun. The graphics were good, the story was good, the hint button was good, it had a map that showed active areas. I love fragment games and this is a good one. My only complaint is that the mini games were too simple for my taste, but I like hard ones. This is the third game in the series, I am now off to buy the first two!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Treasures of Mystery Island: The Ghost Ship I enjoyed this game very much and would highly recommend. STORYLINE: Not bad, very much a ghost story so nothing too exciting, but by no means boring. GAMEPLAY/GRAPHICS: Straightforward gameplay, easy to know what to do. Graphics ok, seen better, but they were very clear and crisp. MUSIC/VOICEOVERS: Can't comment on music as I always have this turned off. There are no voiceovers, just text to read. HOS/PUZZLES: This is a fragmented object game so there are no H0 scenes. I like both types though. Puzzles were original, not many of them i've seen before. LEVEL OF CHALLENGE: There are two modes, casual or advanced. I always play on casual, but this was a little too easy in this game. Nearly stopped playing after half an hour as it was just too easy. However, even on casual, the difficulty does increase throughout the game which I was pleased to see. Puzzles range in difficulty too. WHAT DO YOU GET?: You have a journal where all your notes are added, and a map which I like. The map also lets you know where you are, and also lets you know the locations where actions are available which is good if you get stuck and don't know where to go next. You also get your usual hint button. GAME LENGTH: Very good length, played for several nights in a row. Not too short that it's over before you get into it, but not too long that you get bored.
