Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse Collector's Edition is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Witchery Amidst The Charleston Family! **Unlike some reviews this one will contain no story spoilers.** This game has a very unique story that will pull you in from the beginning demo. I purchased this game specifically because I wanted to learn more about the story and the game did not disappoint! You have the option of choosing between two different difficulty game play modes. I played through the entire game on easy mode along with the bonus level and found a couple puzzles that were quite difficult, so I can only imagine if you play this game on hard mode! The overall look and feel of the game is great and there are about three major cut screens that are live-action looking. While playing the HOG I found that at times I needed to click specifically on an object in order to trigger a response from the game which was frustrating at times. Overall, I highly recommend this game if you enjoy stories about witches since the game is part of a larger witch related series. The collector's edition is a good investment if you play through the demo and enjoy the story otherwise I would only buy the standard edition since the bonus gameplay is related to the overall story but not neccessary. I'm looking forward to playing the next installment of this franchise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blend of HOG, Puzzle, & Adventure **MY OPINION** Great game, the ending definitely leaves it open for continuing. Even in regular mode it makes the player think, so it might be a little frustrating for beginners, but a quick glance at the strategy guide will help. **SL (Story Line)** Very well thought out, consistent through out the game, stays on focus and each chapter pertains to it. **STRATEGY GUIDE** It is in the CE version and even covers the bonus extra play, but only goes to chapter 2 in the trial version. **SCREEN MODES** Full screen or Wide Screen (the game opened on my widescreen laptop without having to choose that filled the entire screen. **CURSOR** you have the option of regular or custom. I played with custom and not problems at all. **SOUND** You can contol music, game sound, and voice overs separately in the "options" panel. **PLAY MODES** There were two types: Regular and Expert. Regular mode the skip feature and hints recharged faster and there were active areas to show areas that needed to be investigated further. Expert mode the skip feature and hints recharged slower and there were no active areas shown. **INTERACTIVE HELP** you have the option of choosing if you would like to use it or not. **GRAPHICS** were great, automatically opened in wide screen on my laptop. **VOICE OVERS** this game has it and you can control the volume of it in the "Options" panel. They were much more realistic than some games in that the child didn't sound like an adult trying to talk "child talk". **MAP** There was no map, but it would have been nice. There was a lot of moving back and forth that took several clicks each time, but still it didn't take away any postitives of this game. **PUZZLES** I am a huge fan of puzzles, and really enjoyed these. To me, they were not difficult to work, the challenge was figuring out the best solution, (or steps in getting from point A to point Z) the steps in between. **HOS (Hidden Object Scenes)** Not difficult. Objects that are in clear view written in black, and the objects you need to interact in order to find are written in green. There were a few items that I had clicked on several times and finally gave up and used a hint and it turned out to be the item I had been clicking on, so a few of them (not many) you will have to click in just the right spot. There were also a few items that took 3 steps to complete. **HINTS** They simply recharge at different rates depending on play mode and nothing to collect to gain more hints. **CE (Collectors Edition)** The bonus extra play was very nice. I really liked the twist on the little imp's origin and interaction with it on the bonus play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Hidden Object Game I have just finished playing the complete game including the bonus. I found the graphics stunning and the voice overs and cut scenes well done. The HOG's were fairly standard with some interaction needed. The puzzles were mainly easily solvable but some were more difficult. The storyline was consistent and held my interest to the point where I had to complete the bonus game - something I do not always do. I would recommend that you also do so if you purchase this game. I loved it and recommend that you check it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riveting Where to start. This game was done with a lot of thought. One definitely needs to get the Collector's Edition because it adds a little extra to the game itself. I bet there is going to be a part 2 to this game. Well the game itself has 2 options in game play, Regular and Expert, i choose Regular. The voice over was tremendously well done. One can actually look around because the voice over will not continue untill you press next, nice choice i think. One also has time to read the verbal without disappearing so quickly. The HOS were cleverly hidden and sometimes a little too hard. The story was done extremely well and i was right into it throughout the whole game. Nice. I did find that in some of the HOS that i needed to click a couple of times on the same object before i got a response. Luckily there is no penalty for clicking. The music fit the game, and some i must say was rather enjoyable to listen to. In the bonus game, i had a problem finding the bones but i backtracked till i found it and was able to complete the game. Over all this is one great game and worth every penny and i simply loved it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE OF THE BEST!! I just finished the entire game plus bonus content. This is definitely one of my favorites! I love hidden object scenes but not a steady stream of them. This had plenty of both adventure and hidden object. The story kept me involved right to the end and that doesn't happen often:) There are things in this that will give you a giggle and a scare at the same time. Just a lot of fun:) The hint system was so good that I never had to use the SG so I could have waited for the SE but I enjoyed the bonus play so am glad I spent the extra for the CE. The mini games were not so hard that you couldn't do them but did tax my brain a bit. Since the length was better than most I can't find anything I really didn't like about this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW, WOW....BEST GAME OF 2010 SO FAR!!! As you can probably tell from my review ritle,I "LOVED" this game. iv been playing hidden object/puzzle games on big fish games since 2007 and having played 80% of ALL the games listed i feel qualified to give a genuine review on this one. sometimes hidd object games can become quite repetative, ie, you get a list of items, and a scene to find them. usually with a few puzzles thrown in for good measure. But this game is in another league all together. the quality of each scene is beautiful, the sound is eerie, appropriate to the place and not at all annoying. the challenges are just enough for me without having to tear my hair out, or complain there too easy. the general story line is very intriguing and made me want to turn the lights out and follow this one to the very end. its like being inside the witchhes world, literally. Anyone fond of these types of games should fall in love with this one instantly,an those who are new to big fish, well, after playing this demo, iv a feeling you will be hooked for life! when i recently bought a game for my PS2 of a similar type and quality, this pc game was so much like it that i was suprised. simply because the PS2 game cost £38 more than this pc game. NUFF SAID!!! KEEP EM COMING LIKE THIS ONE BIG FISH GAMES AND I GUARANTEE PEOPLE WILL LOOK NO FURTHER THAN HERE FOR THERE GAMING NEEDS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic game! Just had to write a review whilst waiting for full game to D/L. It has amazing graphics, but what really sets it apart are the incredible animations! If these are the games of the future, the more the merrier. A lot of thought and work has gone into this game. The music is fitting, advanced or casual play options, very good interactive HOG scenes, excellent graphics. Spooky, but the more spooky the more I like them. Of all the games out there, this ranks as one of the very best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adventure game! It took us 57 minutes to complete the demo and we think this is an awesome game. There are 2 modes of game play to choose from. Also a choice of screens and cursor. There is lots to do and the interactive hidden object scenes are great fun. The graphics are excellent and there are animation scenes in the diary book that are amazing! The puzzles are fun and not too difficult. We did not try the strategy guide, so we have no comment on that. This is truly a game we would purchase, however with all the collector editions being released <think there have been 8 so far in January> we will wait for the single edition. When we acquire that never ending source of money we will buy all collector editions! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I liked it What a fun game. Good music and graphics. Has voice over. The hint button if you need words greats as it tells you want direction to go. The HOS are not that hard and the puzzles are not hard either. Just a fun game for playing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OKAY, NOW I'M HOOKED REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS Recently I bought "Witches' Legacy - Ties that Bind" and then realised it was the fourth game in the series. Doh I thought. So I've now bought the earlier three games and have started at the beginning with this one. The other three are: ~ Lair of the Queen Witch; ~ Hunter and Hunted; and ~ Ties that Bind. I'm going to be busy for a while! The main game is about rescuing Lynn from Elizabeth the witch and the bonus is about retrieving the amulet to make Lynn better again. Well, I loved it. It has everything that a fishy could want in a game. There is: * Live actors (Lynn and Elizabeth); * Regular and Expert modes of play; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Diary. Firstly, the graphics are generally okay. They are a bit grainy, but overall the colour is good and its easy to see everything as you move around locations. Sound is good. The music is mainly organ pipes and orchestral. Its not creepy but its certainly somber and quite haunting. The music does repeat over and over again. I didn't turn it off, but I did turn it down. The hidden object games were very cluttered and some items were indecipherable to see. I think it was due to the colour rather than the objects themselves because they blended in so well. These were quite a challenge to do and there were a lot of them. Some of them took me a while to get through, but I just nutted them out slowly. I enjoyed doing the mini-games. Some of these were rotating gems to their proper colour, moving the pins to the left side, playing a melody on the piano, arranging statues, using a pick to hit all the rocks and rotating stones into patterns. None of these were too hard or frustrating to do. There is a fair bit to do in this game and you are moving around to different locations a lot. Some newer/younger fishies might not like this without an interactive map, but for the old hard core fishies like myself, I remember when interactive maps hadn't been invented and we just had to rely on memory where items and tasks were to do. Just grab a notebook or piece of paper to help. All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours, so good value for money. So definitely recommended. Its a bit old school but you have to start at the beginning to get the whole picture. Happy playing fishies.
