Customer Reviews
House of 1000 Doors: Serpent Flame is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from CE or SE? The game is so good that the CE is worth it. The SE version for Mac just came out. I already own the CE. I figure, if you are reading reviews when both the SE and CE are out, you are wanting to know which to buy. I say, buy the CE because this game has good extras. All of these House of 1000 Doors are excellent games, so what it boils down to is, do you like the game well enough that you will want to buy the bonus chapter, and do you like the mini games and HOS well enough to want to play them over? Also, there are the usual music and art extras. The art is beautiful and clear. The music is more mood sounds than it is music, so I am not sure I will really listen to it in its own. But it is perfect for the game. Because this is an older game finally ported to the Mac, the HOS are not as creative as later games. They are just word lists etc. But the mini games are good. I'm glad I bought the CE. Excellent game, and I will want to play the mini games again. So I say buy the SE if you are on a budget, otherwise, buy the CE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Travelling in time I love to play this game. A real challenge go get out in danger of the world and save the world from the upcoming troubles. Sounds fantastic. It reminds about present time, the Apocalypses, that prophecy that was done from Nostradamus about the End of the world. And the girl saved the world! I love to play in the place of this girl, Kate. She is so bravest So courageous and strong. I love to play this game over and over again. FANTASTIC GAME.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round game Good fast flowing game as you can use the interactive map to go directly to where the next task can be found. Areas which are of no importance are blocked out until needed again. I like the fact, that when you click on an area to collect items, the areas 'close down' when they are finished with. Good selection of mini games to add extra interest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as the previous 2 1000 Door games The plot is interesting & the graphics is even better than the last 1000 Doors games... Somehow I think CE is more complete as after the SE ended, there was still some epilogue going.. It is not easy to keep a game series going great but the developer has done it! 3rd game in the series but never going downhill...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this game! Beautiful graphics. Great storyline. I absolutely loved this game. I think the challenge level was perfect. Personally I love the fact that I was never stuck during the game and wasn't wracking my brain for a solution. The sound effects are so awesome and detailed - from the sound of candles being lit to the waves in the ocean. Lifelike & fun! But I hope you don't mind snakes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best game I;ve played in a long time. This is the third one and they have produced another great game. The graphics are great and the music is good. Has a map Has the guide to help if needed. The hint button works great and fast. Has a good storyline just like the others, The HOS are good and some are interactive. The puzzles are fun. Some harder than others but good. The flow to the game is pretty good. I really enjoyed it and will buy this game. Everything is a game that makes it fun an enjoyable to play. Cant go wrong on this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta Love That House! Snakes alive!!! Another superior House of 1000 doors has been brought to you from my favorite developer and although I didn't like the second edition as well as the first, they have redeemed themselves on this game. To start off with this is a very long game therefor well worth the bucks. There are only 2 modes of difficulty, but the map is really all you need it will indicate areas of interest with an exclamation mark and once you travel there it is easy to figure out what to do and where to use your inventory items. This is a continuing saga about a house that occasionally pops out of nowhere and the House chooses who may enter and who can stay! All of the original characters make a cameo appearance but it won't be vital to have played the other two games to play this one, however, this is an excellent story so I also recommend playing those. The CE has morphing objects and a bonus game that explains where the mysterious man that brought Kate to the house came from and why, but if you can do without that then this is the game you have been waiting for. A young man collapses at the door of the House with Kate in his arms, but the man has gone into a comatose state and not even Kate knows who he is, yet. The world is being destroyed by millions of evil snakes and Kate must travel through several portals to stop this mayhem. The HOS are very interactive and very well done, and the mini games are fun and not to difficult so you probably won't need to skip any of them. There are many things to do in each scene and you will find a lot of inventory to keep you busy. There is a lot of back and forth, and some actions won't be completed right away so you will want to take advantage of the interactive map, enjoy!
