Battle Ranch is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I could take it or leave it This game is like those songs on the radio that you'll listen to if nothing else better is playing. I would play this game if it were free - and there was nothing else on to play. At first I thought I'd hate this game because the graphics are seriously unpolished, the music is cheap and repetitive and the tutorial is practically non-existent. But once I got used to the game play, I found myself somewhat hooked until my hour had gone by. Mind you, I didn't find myself hooked enough to buy it. You grow plants and harvest the seeds for money. You then use that money to place vegetables on the playing field to block the ... medieval piggies? There's where the story line loses me. The only "game guide" within the game is more a cheat for each level, showing you a graph on where to place plants to beat the baddies so I didn't want to use it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Essentially Plants v Zombies Quick review- poor version or copy of plants vs zombies. Not as sophisticated, graphics are poor (1990s style writing) and more immature subject matter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feel Like I've Just Been Punched In The Face I want to start by saying that the game from which the ideas for Battle Ranch are so obviously swiped is & long has been one of my absolute (maybe my #1?) favorite games for PC/Mac. See my reviews on it. So that being said, PvZ is everything that this poor knockoff is not. I played Battle Ranch for as long as I could stand & was left rather confused & annoyed. No instructions - not just none, but none in a game sorely needing them. Poor graphics, unpleasing to the eye, no motivation given... If youre going to strongly emulate the best of the best you better at least do a half decent job of it. On the other hand, there was so much of this that I didn't even KIND OF get that who knows? Maybe its better than it seems. If there's some way they can go back & add a tutorial-but idoubt that bec. I suspect the game just isn't well enough put together to even explain. I guess I'm just irked that they had the GALL to steal ideas from a game so perfect that 3 generations of my family play & then to execute these ideas so poorly & that there seems to be a lot to this game that I just cant even tolerate my way to. I'm not saying every game needs to be 100% original. But this? This is a bit much & not even well done!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lame version of Plants vs Zombies Boring! Had to stop after 7 minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad PvZ knock-off has promise, but falls flat This game should never have made it off the creator's drawing board. Battle Ranch directly plagiarizes Plants vs. Zombies in at least one place (the Split Pea, firing forwards and backwards) right down to the artwork. The graphics are atrocious, there is no storyline to speak of, and the sound is irritating at best. That being said, combining the farm management aspect with PvZ gameplay was a good idea, adding a new element to the game. If the rest of the content was more original, and if the artwork and sound were improved, it would be a most enjoyable experience. As it is, Battle Ranch is a poorly-executed, underwhelming attempt at copying one of the greatest casual games of all time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful It was very hard and not much fun if you can't get past the first game. The vegetables took to long to grow

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plants vs. Zombies Wannabe, But Seriously Lacking I only played this game for a few minutes, before I had to stop and uninstall it. It's a similar type game to PVZ, but any PVZ fan will be extremely disappointed. The movement of the boars is very stilted and the plants that give you seeds to plant your defensive plants are high maintenance. Blah.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The "derp" factor here is astonishing. Ridiculous graphics, very slow game play. I don't have a problem with rip-offs in and of themselves, but these developers didn't even try. Don't waste your time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from There are better games As a fan of games like Garden Panic and Royal Defense, I was excited to find another of this genre. Instead, I was playing a slow, confused, and poorly designed version of these games.
