Gizmos: Spooky Adventures is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Want a Challenge? This series is only for the well-seasoned nanogram player. The grids increase to 30 x 30 with only one color. If you're used to playing the Fantasy-like series, the difference will become evident very early on in the game. Two complaints: 1- the music is very repetitive and annoying. 2- the grid is too small, making it not only difficult to count the squares, but also tiring on the eyes, as well as easy to make mistakes, so I didn't redo any to get an error free score. There is much counting and recounting of these tiny boxes, requiring uninterrupted concentration. I gave up even trying to beat the time limit. Kudos to the developers for creating such complex nanograms that are totally analytical. I won't play a game that requires guessing. While some games drag because of the dialogue, these characters are whimsical and I would have liked more. Superb game for this genre. This is more like a marathon than a stroll in the park.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's good, two reasons I won't buy it This nanogram game is done quite cleverly. It has a humorous approach and the ghosts, gremlins, goblins, etc. are thematic and appropriately timed for the upcoming Halloween Day event.I'd imagine players enthralled both with Oct. 31st and mosaic games will jump at this entry. There are some easy grids as all of the 10 X 10's that start the game are no-brainers. After about 7 of these the 15 X 15 grids begin and there are some tough ones to be sure. I failed a couple of times and needed a redo. Keep in mind though I never use hints when attempting any grid game. For me it's all trial and error til I get it right. There are 2 reasons why this is a no buy. One is that I already have a few and for anybody who wants at least one, look no further than Fantasy Mosaic 4. Secondly, the occasional jigsaw puzzles did nothing for me. Overall, it's a really cute game that will please many folks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2nd Instalment of Gizmos much like the First This second instalment of 'Gizmos' follows closely on the heels of the first one, and is exactly similar in execution and gameplay as the first. Only difference is the changed storyline, which in a game such as this, is really of little value. I did a fairly lengthy review of the first 'Gizmos' game [Gizmos: Riddle of the Universe], and all that I said for that one, applies to this one as well. So I refer you to that review for all the info. One reviewer mentioned that the background art was disturbing whilst playing...note that in the 'Option' menu, you can completely disable the background images - screen is completely black behind the grid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun little mosaic game I haven't beaten the main gizmo's game yet, but wanted to play this one around the holiday. It's a fun mosaic game. The chibi style pictures you uncover are very cute and make this a family friendly game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable Really love these puzzle games, and this one's mixed with jigsaw puzzles, and nice combination. The "mark-the-squares" part is more difficult that other puzzles that have been offered so it's more challenging. The jigsaw puzzles are fun but there's no real challenge factor. I do wish developers would show results as a tabulation rather than telling the player he or she has failed. So I hit a few of the squares with the wrong cursor. I'm less accurate than I'd like to be but I don't think I "failed." Likewise using the hints gets a failure message. How about being more upbeat?? I'd like to see more contrast between squares that have been found, those that haven't, and those done incorrectly. Puzzle is just a bit too grayish for me. Also now some of the puzzlers have come out with different colors. Those stand out. I recommend this game because it is challenging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could Be Much Better I love nanogram or griddler type puzzles as they are always my go to type of game when I don't want to get involved in a long adventure game. There are two issues that will keep me from purchasing this game the first being the puzzle grid background. Many gamers are older and our eyes are not as sharp so it is very hard on the eyes to have a picture lurking behind the grid cells. It makes it extremely difficult to see what cells have not yet been filled. The other item is that I hate playing "beat the clock." Sorry but I had enough of high-pressure time management when I was working and I don't want that "feeling" in any game that I play. Aside from these two issues the game is okay and I would buy it. Sorry devs you missed the mark for me. Come up with some solid background grids and get rid of the time limits and I will definitely buy your games.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A very unforgiving game I like grid type puzzles, and bought this one because It has a fun Halloween theme and puzzles that (so far) can be solved by logic. The problem is that there are no "free" hints or mistakes. While I can ignore the resulting scores ("puzzle solved" is so blah!), the game would be a lot of fun if you could use a hint or two, and make a mistake or two, without a penalty. I sometimes misclick just because my hand is shaky. Also, having no untimed option bothers me. Having a timer that always tell me I missed the required time is no fun, even if going over time does not require a replay of the game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Uggh... This game is too difficult. It makes you think too much. As soon as I thought I got the hang of it, I was just totally wrong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The only thing spooky about this game is how it got such good reviews I love these kinds of puzzle games and I love the whole 'spooky' theme to the game - but that's where it ends. Unlike the "Arizona Rose" puzzles, this game series is more of a 'nuisance game' than a challenge. You get penalized for mis-clicks, using hints and my biggest peeve - the levels are timed. At least with the "Arizona Rose" puzzles - you can use powerups and not get penalized. These puzzles are not easy, nor should they be - but you shouldn't be required to be a mindreader just to play it. This game is a no-go for me. Had it been more 'fun-friendly' I'd have bought it.
