Surface: Game of Gods Collector's Edition is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long waited on White Queen is finally here 14 Hops. 11 in the main game and 3 in the bonus. That isn't very many for a hidden object game. I Don't like pairs behind items in hops and not crazy about finding the item from a story, but I don't mind the story. I don't like limited sight hops either. I love having a art filled page to find things from a list. Which this did have. I had a good time playing this game except the above complaints. I drove a dog sled. Played bells. Tried to catch a Lion cub and boy is he fast. Sailed a raft to a mermaid. Filled bottles with blue and green spheres. In the Bonus, I rolled a ball around in a maze which I really liked. I collected flowers to buy stuff to fix up things in the bonus room and I really wanted that sofa cover. I thought I got every flower but I didn't have nearly enough to finish my room. Collected 13 Statuettes of the Characters which has little comments. 5 chapters + Bonus game. The Bonus is about Evan the Stranger. He has a life outside of the game and the evil goddess is back. Good Bonus but short. Achievements are large chess pieces. 10 wallpapers, 10 concept art, 5 music tracks and a screensaver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Setting the bar! I love the Surface series of games. I love you Elephant developers. I loved the beautiful scenes, the graphics, the story line was unique, awesome hidden object scenes and they were unique as well. This game has the works. I totally loved the fact that you could collect the little figurines of all the characters in the story, I also loved the achievements board set up like a chessboard. I loved collecting and finding the flowers that turn into coins to buy things for your apartment, which really got me going loved it though I missed buying the printer but that is because I went too fast through one scene. Youll want to slow down and grab the flowers first before talking to anyone when you can, youll want to buy everything in her bonus room apartment, complete with kitty loved it!!!! The collectors edition rocks, I was able to save the wallpapers, concept art, music and had one screensaver. Deff worth it AND EASTER EGG----on the main screen before pressing play, you'll see dice...you'll want to click those and watch a little show occur, just something cool to do that most people dont take the time to look and find. This game should deff bought as a collectors edition its got the works and deff way worth it!! 5 stars on everything!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adventure game I play these games for the adventure part of it, rather than the HOG, so I am always really pleased when there are differences in the HOGs. I found the ones in this Surface quite good. I love the Surface series and this game was no exception. I wish the game was a little longer. Overall I really enjoyed this and felt it was money well spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much More Than What Lies on the Surface The Surface series of games has been one of my favorites, and this might be their best entry yet. The goal of the game is to rescue your friends from a game of their own, created for nefarious purpose by extraterrestrial beings who call themselves gods. The way your character will do this is, naturally, to play the game itself. It's kind of like Jumanji with epic consequences. And it's very cool. The game starts in an exciting way, setting you up for what's to come and having you piece together how you got to that point with a police detective asking you questions. It's not overly hard, but it's very well done from a story perspective. Once that's done, you'll move into the game and encounter different worlds and baddies throughout, piecing together ways to defeat them using your environment and the items you collect. It's a smart way to make the humdrum more interesting. The game allows you to make choices that have the appearance of being random and yet aren't (I admit I'd like it more if it truly was, but it would require a LOT more game), and overall there are plenty of collectibles to acquire and flowers to find to make your apartment look spiffy. It's no better or worse than you'd find in any other CE, but works within the confines of the game presented. The game is fast-paced and fun, with never a dull moment. It looks and sounds very good, as all games in the series do, and if there is a weakness it's with the bonus chapter. It covers ground already mined in the main game and feels way too forced for my taste. I also felt many of the puzzles in game were fairly simple, but they were plentiful and mixed and so I'm willing to overlook it. All in all, this is a CE that gives you plenty of extras to work with and adds another dimension to a great game. It's like a mini-movie, and different enough that it doesn't play like something you've done fifty times before. Well worth a look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The polar bear hat comes off for this game! The dev's are becoming so clever. Not only can we play with birds, animal and objects during a game, we now can play before starting! The game has some interesting surprises and even made me jump a couple times. That is saying a lot as I help create a haunted forest! I would think I had everything all hunky dory then a twist would appear! I really like and enjoyed this game. The bonus game though short was also good. Only other thing I can say is - when you get to the computer click on the sticky note- wish I had sooner. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent hidden objects game Quite ordinary beginning. Almost boring first scene when to get ready to join the invitation, but then.... oh I loved the play and I saved all my friends and defeated the gods. I'm sure, that I will go back and play it again, when my solutions are forgotten. The mix of hidden objects and puzzles is what I like. As elderly woman (2 years from 70), I'm not reacting fast enough to play games with time limits, but hidden object games are great. And Games of Gods is a wonderful experience

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly Addicting Non Stop Blast This game draws you in from the second it begins and you are ON for the ride. Nothing to interfere or side track you from moving lickity split. Very exciting. A roller coaster. Great story line. Amazing. Gorgeous. Spooky. New. Different. Exciting. Thanks, Devs for a great new game!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost beats the problem of HOG genre plotting Others have covered most of the points of this game very nicely so I will just make one comment and that on the plot. I find that in game after game as soon as I understand where the plot is going the fun vanishes as I slog on to find elements for an alchemical mix or whatever it is that will put paid to the bad guys. Some games have little mystery from the beginning but this one does and it almost breaks through the plotting problem by the device of the game within a game and the uncertainty at least for the first half of the game as to whether Evan the recruiter of players is on the side of the players or of the game masters and indeed the game then has a quality of mystery and even fright ... If only they could have kept the mysterious question of who was who and what the game was about mysterious a little longer. At least for me once that is lost the thing becomes a matter of playing it out to the end ...and nowadays (is it game burnout a little?) I let some games go unfinished. So for the plot and the pleasure it gave for longer than usual in these games Im giving it 5 stars. The other aspects are well done, graphics, sound , some relatively interesting hidden object scenes and so on, but only in plot does it seem to approach a breakthrough the genre seriously needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Very Fun This game was so fun. It's been awhile since a game really pulled me into the story. I think we will forgive many graphic issues etc if the storyline is really tight and this one is. The basic storyline is that you are participating with three friends in a "research study" that pays well. You are late and your three friends get involved in a trap that you have to rescue them by playing "the game" as well even though you recognize the rules are absurd. You are coerced into playing in order to save them. There is a nice mix of feeling questionable about the authorities that may be helping you, that you want to find out who are the good guys and who are not. This game has great chemistry. The characters you meet along the way keep you motivated to achieve your goal. There is a nice blend of puzzles, hogs, find the flowers that keeps the story moving in a really nice way that doesn't feel artificial and lets you get really involved in the story. The music is not distracting and adds a nice dimension. The flow is very logical and you can figure things out like the main character would which adds to feeling part of the story. For those who want the added satisfaction of finding achievements" they blend nicely into the story and are not a distraction. A really fun game.
