Amaranthine Voyage: The Living Mountain is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME GAME - WHAT A SEQUEL!! It’s been a while since Dr. Sylvia Burns (you) saved a dying world in Tree of Life. You have become restless in the years since your last adventure and now even your students have begun to laugh at your theories of portals to other worlds. Where is your proof that these portals and other worlds exist? It seems that one of your students, Jonathan Ferguson, did believe in you and now he has gone missing while trying to prove your theories. Jonathan’s father arrives at your home with a package that contains proof of Jonathan’s discovery and he believes that you are now the only one who can find his missing son. And so begins our new journey to The Living Mountain. Will you be able to return Jonathan to his father and find tangible proof that the portals do indeed exist? In recent years the developer of this game has emerged as one of the top casual game developers on the scene, and each game they bring us is top quality. The developer continues to surprise us by always adding something new and innovative to each game. The Living Mountain has incredible graphics and, IMHO, they are so much better than the graphics in Tree of Life and we have a crisp clarity to the graphics rather than the graininess that existed in the previous game. The artwork is stunning and the art team has created realistic characters that seem to come alive on the screen. The sound package only adds more realism to the game and makes playing the game truly enjoyable. Combine the sound package with this visually stunning game and we have the total experience – a place where we can be immersed for many hours in a new world. Needless to say, only fifteen minutes into the demo and I was hooked. No need to wait for a weekend sale on this one. You have the standard tools that we find in most HOPA games such as a journal and an interactive map that you find very early in the game. There are varying types of HOPs in The Living Mountain including the standard list type. One of the things I liked a lot was the interesting twist on the silhouette type HOPs – again something new from the developer. If you have difficulty finding objects, or if you would rather not bother looking for items in the HOP, you have the option to switch to a “bubble-shoot” type game. Overall, I was blown away by The Living Mountain and decided that it was just too good to wait around for a weekend sale. I purchased the game after playing the demo for only a short while since that was enough to convince me that this is probably one of the best games to come our way in recent months. In the end I am happy I followed my instinct because I enjoyed every minute of this game and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like and excellent game. As always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will like. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great game I really like this game. I bought it without playing it first, but that is because of the developer. While I was greatly disappointed in the Tree of Life (waste of a good game credit), this game was easier to follow and play. Yes, help was needed and some of the mini games were hard. But, overall, I recommend this game. The graphics are great with terrific scenes. I could only afford the $6.99 games, but it was worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Game. Really enjoyed playing this game. The graphics and mini games were wonderful. I did have a freeze problem at the very end of the game. Looked at the walk through and saw only 2 activities left. I still wanted to rate this game high. Mac are a problem sometimes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORLD CLASS GAMEPLAY SUMMARY: Flawless gameplay; outstanding graphics and color palettes. Well thought-out story development and exceptional production values. Lengthy game with plenty to do and see. A nice day of exciting gameplay. I haven't finished it, but it might just rival my favorite game. GAMEPLAY: Immediately grabs and holds your attention. Superb artistry - full of color. Special effects are outstanding. Voice overs are terrific; music is compelling; lots of HOS (list and silhouette; very detailed and not too crowded, with nice color palettes); fun and interesting puzzles (wide variety of difficulty). Play bubble shoot instead of HOS if you want. BASICS you get: map with objectives and active areas (you can turn off); journal; 3 standard plus one customizable difficulty mode (turn on/off only those aspects you want, including time sets for hint and skip recharges); hint shows snapshot of where you should go; helpful messages. Helper dog (but he won't dig, only fetch). If you're interested in the SE vs. CE: CE includes achievements; collect fairies, souvenirs and dog biscuits; making of; pictures of process of drawing characters, et al.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous and Fun! Thank you, Eipix, for the stunning graphics and detail in this game. It was so refreshing to finally see scenery that is full of light and beauty rather than the gloomy pall that most of the HOG games depict! The story is very engaging, and the HOG's are clever with their panoramic sweep from one section to another. The mini-games are challenging enough, and enjoyable. However, what I really enjoyed was seeing each scene unfold - all gorgeous in their rendering. And, the animation sequences and interaction with the characters enhanced the story. Really excellent - I'll look for more games by Eipix - they just keep getting better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Loved It! I The graphics are absolutely stunning. I literally just sat and stared at the beautiful scenes. I also love how you can play a mini game (bubble game) instead of the ever so boring hidden objects. This is one of the best games I've played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpected Gem I didn't think I was going to love this as much I did. I played in expert mode where your cursor does not change when you hover over a place of interest. I found that a refreshing change from the norm. Some of the games where super easy but none of them super hard either. I thought it was a great way to spend 6 hours...just wish it were longer. 2014
