Introduction

  • Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source is the 4th title in the popular Resource Management game series from HipSoft.
  • For each level, you are given several real estate-related Goals, like constructing a certain type of house, or raising a specific amount in rent.
  • There are many different possible strategies for achieving these Goals: using resources like a Workshop to generate cheaper, faster workers; a Tech Center to supercharge your power generators; or a Garden Center to let you landscape the homes you construct and maintain public parks at lower cost.
  • On each level, you can work at a leisurely pace to get a Normal score, or beat the clock for Super Speedy Efficiency.
  • This guide is divided into two sections: General Tips and the Full Walkthrough.

General Tips

    • At the beginning, you can choose from Tutorial Campaign (3 levels) or Main Campaign (45 levels). If you have played previous Construct-a-Lot games, you can skip Tutorial Campaign if you like.
    • After you have completed Main Campaign, you will unlock Challenge Campaign (10 levels).
    • After you have completed Challenge Campaign, you will unlock Expert Campaign (10 levels).
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • You can replay any previous level at any time by using the planner.
    • If you have to restart a level for any reason, or you go back to play it again through the planner, the arrangement of lots may be somewhat different, but the key factors will be the same.
    • The big new feature is power management! If your neighborhood uses more energy than your power generators provide, you go into a black-out. During a black-out you can still buy, sell, upgrade, add Energy Savers, construct, and demolish. But you don’t collect rent.
    • It is possible to get stuck in a black-out that you can’t get out of if you need to repair a power generator and you don’t have enough money to buy the materials to do so.
    • Most of the time you will be able to work your way out of a black-out by adding additional Energy Saver features to existing houses, building new power generators, or even demolishing some properties.
    • There is a special trophy for going seven levels in a row without a black-out, but it can be very difficult to get the Speedy Efficiency award for the level if you’re also going for no black-outs. So you may have to play some levels twice to get both.
    • If you’re going to construct a new house and you’re close to the black-out line, it’s a good idea to make sure you have enough materials to also add Energy Savers to the new house.
    • Most houses will be energy neutral if they have three added Energy Savers. If you’re waiting for a power generator to complete, you can still paint, upgrade, demolish, and add Energy Savers even during a black-out, so stay busy.
    • Once you start constructing Condos and larger houses you’re going to need a lot of power.
    • Shops and recreation facilities also require power.
    • If you’re going for the Speedy award on a level, you will generally start out by constructing one large house to sell for cash, a power source, and a large house or shop to keep for rent income.
    • The key to this game is multi-tasking. You need to keep workers and technicians busy, and keep power online.
    • Try to anticipate material or power shortages and buy what you need ahead of time to allow for continuous work.
    • When you hear the black-out siren, you have a few seconds before the generator goes offline. In that time you can try adding more Energy Savers, demolishing a property you don’t need, or building another power source.
    • The larger the generator, the more materials it will take to repair, anywhere from 100 to 1,000 units.
    • If a generator breaks and you go into a blackout, you will have to repair it before you can complete the level; so once you get to higher levels with more resources, try to keep enough materials in reserve to do a needed repair.
    • Apartments appear to require the most energy, but you can make them energy-neutral by adding three Energy Savers.
    • Fancy shops require the second most power, and there is no way to make them more energy efficient after they are built.
    • It is usually best to wait and buy materials in large lots, 1,000 units at a minimum. The exception is if you need to repair a power facility, or a single rental income property.
    • If you need to build a lot of large houses, say four or more Georgians or Apartments, it is almost always more efficient to build several houses first, then go back and upgrade them.
    • If a house is damaged, repair it right away, or demolish it if you are just going to build something else there.
    • If you are going to build a Recycling Center, wait to demolish houses until it has completed building, and you will get credit for some of the materials from the demolished property.
    • The Recycling Center saves you money by cutting the cost of materials in half. You can demolish it towards the end of a level if you have rental properties or sales making lots of cash.
    • The Workshop not only saves you money by letting you train workers for half-price; it also provides Lightning Efficiency training which makes your works work much faster. This saves you a lot of time. It’s important any time you have to paint, landscape, upgrade, construct or demolish houses.
    • The Garden Center lets you add landscaping which improves Appeal rating and also automatically maintains recreations. This can save you time and money on levels with several recreations, but you can still probably demolish it before the end of the level if necessary.
    • The Tech Center lets you train technicians for half price, saving you money, and is also the only way to assign workers to supercharge power facilities.
    • Once the workers are assigned, you can demolish the Tech Center and the facilities will stay supercharged.
    • However, if you are using the Genius Certificate upgrade to the Tech Center to make the Tech Center works work faster, you will lose that if you demolish the Tech Center.
    • The Business Center handles staffing for Fancy shops so you get continuous income. It’s only important on levels where you need a lot of shops.
    • Once you get up to level 20, a standard strategy for many levels will be the Workshop First Strategy. Construct a Workshop. Buy Lightning Efficiency training so the workers work faster. Train 3 workers. Construct 1 expensive house, paint it, and upgrade it 2 times. Buy 1,000 units of materials, which will pay for the 3rd upgrade on the cash house and the Recycling Center. Upgrade the house to 3-Stars, then sell it for cash. Construct the Recycling Center. Buy 5,000 units of materials. Construct a power source. Construct another big house and keep it for rent. Then get down to the specific requirements of the level.
    • An alternative for levels where you need to build really big houses and you have fewer materials is the Cash Sale First strategy. First train 2 workers. Then build a large house and sell it for cash. Build the Recycling Center. Buy 15,000 units of materials. Build the Workshop. Buy Lightning Efficiency training. Train 2 more workers. Build a large power source. Build a large house/shop for rental income.
    • You will use the Cash Sale First strategy to make Speedy on most of the Challenge Campaign levels.
    • If you start the level already owning a big house you can upgrade and sell, you just skip that construction step in either standard strategy.
    • If you need a lot of cash quickly, upgrade before you add Energy Savers.
    • If you are close to going into a black-out, add Energy Savers before upgrading.
    • If you are need to finish quickly, try to keep both Workers (who do upgrades) and Technicians (who add Energy Savers) busy, by working some properties with upgrades while other properties are getting Energy Savers.
    • In levels where you need to get a high Appeal rating, it will be useful to build a Garden Center early in a spot between two houses where you will eventually place a recreation facility. Use the Garden Center to landscape a number of houses, then demolish it and construct the recreation facility in its spot.
    • Recreation facilities (also called "recreations" in the game) add a positive Appeal value for the lot they are on, plus the same amount for any house they influence. So an Amphitheater gives you +25 Appeal when you build it even if it’s not near any houses. Put it between two houses, and it has increased the Appeal by +75, +25 for its own lot and +25 for each of the houses.
    • The more houses you will have on a level, the more valuable the painting and landscaping bonuses are towards making an Appeal goal.
    • 4 painted and landscaped houses will cancel out the negative Appeal factor of a Nuclear reactor.
    • It’s almost always worth buying an empty lot as they become available.
    • To view your trophies, you must be in a level, but it doesn’t matter which one. Click on the Trophy symbol in the top bar and the Trophy list will open up. Each Trophy slot is clearly identified so you can see what you have to do to earn it.
    • If you really need to buy a specific property and it’s too expensive, you can try putting several of your own properties up for sale and then offering a low-ball price. However, this strategy works best for fast clickers, as it requires a lot of click maintenance to respond to the offers on your own houses.
    • In addition, while a house is up for sale it collects no rent, so you may lose more money from lost rent than you gain in low-balling another property.
    • If you demolish a power generator at the very end of a level, you will have a few seconds before the neighborhood goes into black-out. If you have made all your goals at that moment, the level will end and you will get credit even though it’s about to have a power failure.
    • Demolishing a Nuclear Reactor at the very end of a level can be an important strategy for making an Appeal Goal.
    • There are many different strategies that work for every level, so feel free to experiment!
    • All walkthroughs are designed to get the Speedy award for that level.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • To match the terminology in the game, we will say "upgrade" to add a star and "add Energy Saver" to add a light bulb. A "Triple Energy Saver" has 3 light bulbs.
  • To match the terminology in the game, "house" means any single lot residential unit, from an A-Frame to Apartments.
  • The screenshot for each level shows the completion stage when all goals have been met unless otherwise noted in the text.

  • Finally, sell however many houses you need to sell to make your money Goal of $100,000.

Main Campaign, Level 5

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Workshop, 6 workers, own 3 houses, rent $9,000
  • Start with: $75,000, 4 workers, 1,000 materials, 2 technicians, 1 A-Frame, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: The key to this level is to remember that when you have a power black-out, you can’t collect any rent, so you want to add Energy Savers to existing houses before starting new construction to avoid interruptions in rent collection.
  • Level Tip: Also, the Workshop uses a huge amount of power. You don’t actually need it until the end of the level, but if you construct it earlier it’s OK, you’ll just be more likely to run into black-outs.
  • Begin by adding 3 Energy Savers to the A-Frame, paint, upgrade once.
  • Make any repairs when needed.
  • Construct the Workshop on a lot where it doesn’t impact any houses.
  • Construct a Duplex and add 3 Energy Savers. That should bring you back below the black-out line.
  • Sell the A-Frame.
  • Paint the 1st Duplex and begin upgrading it. You want 3-Stars eventually.
  • Once the 1st Duplex has at least 2 Energy Savers, start constructing a 2nd Duplex.
  • From now on, buy materials as needed in 1,000 unit lots.
  • Add 3 Energy Savers to both Duplexes.
  • Paint the Duplexes and upgrade them 3 times each.
  • Start construction on a 3rd Duplex.
  • If you have already built the Workshop, do not start the 3rd Duplex until the other two have 3 Energy Savers added each! Make sure you will have enough materials before you start to construct the 3rd Duplex to add 2 Energy Savers to it.
  • As soon as the 3rd Duplex is built, add 2 Energy Savers. This should bring you back below the black-out line.
  • Upgrade the 3rd Duplex and add the 3rd Energy Saver.
  • As soon as you have $45,000 in cash, train two more workers.

Main Campaign, Level 6

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Wind Farms, +20 Appeal
  • Mid-level Goal: 2 painted Duplexes, $150,000
  • Start with: $75,000, 4 workers, 1,500 materials, 2 technicians, 1 A-Frame, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: The only way to make Goal on this level is to have a painted house on every lot except the two Wind Farms.
  • Paint the A-Frame, upgrade to 3-Stars, and sell.
  • Buy a Duplex when it comes up for sale, paint it, upgrade it once and resell.
  • Construct 1 Wind Farm where it doesn’t negatively affect any houses.
  • Buy 1,000 materials. You will be able to do this after you’ve sold a Duplex.

  • After you have purchased all the lots and built all the A-Frames, buy another 1,000 materials.
  • Construct the 2nd Wind Farm.
  • If you don’t have enough cash yet, you will once your rents come in and you’ve sold the upgraded A-Frames.

Main Campaign, Level 7

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 3 demolitions, 4 painted Duplexes, rental income of $15,000
    • Start with: $100,000, 4 workers, 1,500, 2 technicians, 3 A-Frames, 2 empty lots
    • Level Tip: To make the money Goal, you need to end up with 5 upgraded Duplexes, but you will need to move quickly to get the Speedy award. You also need to get a good rhythm going where you have one Duplex being upgraded, one adding Energy Savers, and then you start construction on the next one as soon as the previous has 2 Energy Savers. That should prevent any black-outs on the level.
    • Construct a Duplex on an empty lot, add 3 Energy Savers, paint, and upgrade to 3-Stars.
    • Demolish 1 A-Frame.
    • As soon as the first Duplex has 2 Energy Savers, start constructing a 2nd Duplex on the lot where you demolished the 1st A-Frame. From now as soon as the previous Duplex has 2 Energy Savers, you can start constructing the next one.
    • Paint the 2nd Duplex, add 3 Energy Savers, and upgrade to 3-Stars.
    • Demolish the 2nd A-Frame.
    • Construct the 3rd Duplex as soon as the previous Duplex has 2 Energy Savers.
    • Paint the 3rd Duplex, add 3 Energy Savers, and upgrade to 3-Stars.
    • Demolish the 3rd A-Frame.
    • Construct the 4th Duplex as soon as the previous Duplex has 2 Energy Savers.
    • Paint the 4th Duplex, add 3 Energy Savers and upgrade to 3-Stars.
    • Buy 1,000 units of material.
    • Construct the 5th Duplex on an empty lot.
    • Paint it, add 3 Energy Savers, and upgrade to 3-Stars.
    • If you move quickly enough, you can also get an award on this level for having no house requiring repair.

  • Start with: $100,000, 4 workers, 2,000 materials, 2 technicians, 4 empty lots, 1 A-Frame
  • Level Tip: Both the Public Pool and the Workshop take a lot of power, so you are going to need to construct a Wind Farm plus add Energy Savers to all your houses.
  • Level Tip: Put the Public Pool where it has houses on both sides so you get the Appeal boost.
  • Start by upgrading the A-Frame 3 times, add 3 Energy Savers, paint, and sell.
  • Construct the 1st Duplex, paint, upgrade 3 times, add 3 Energy Savers, and sell.
  • When you get to 2 Energy Savers on the first Duplex, start construction on a 2nd.
  • Buy 2 unpainted A-Frames whenever they become available. These will be your 2nd and 3rd A-Frame.
  • Paint the 2nd A-Frame, upgrade it 3 times, add 3 Energy Savers, and sell.
  • Paint the 3rd A-Frame and upgrade it 3 times. Add 3 Energy Savers to the 3rd A-Frame. Keep this one.
  • Buy one empty lot in a strategic position, either a good place for a Public Pool (between two houses) or a good place for the Wind Farm (away from houses).
  • Construct a Wind Farm. Try to position it so it won’t negatively impact any houses, but you can put the Workshop next to it.
  • Buy the materials you need for the Workshop and construct it.
  • Train 3 workers.
  • Buy the materials you need for the Public Pool. Position it so it positively affects at least 2 houses.
  • You will end with one 3-Star A-Frame and one 3-Star Duplex, along with the Public Pool, Wind Farm, and Workshop.

Main Campaign, Level 10

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 3 Wind Farms, $300,000
  • Start with: $100,000, 4 workers, 2,000 materials, 2 technicians,4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: You have to construct and sell 3-Star Duplexes and construct 3 Wind Farms.
  • Level Tip: Don’t worry about adding Energy Savers; the Wind Farms give you more than enough energy.
  • Construct the first Wind Farm.
  • Construct the 1st Duplex, paint, upgrade 3 times, and sell.
  • Keep constructing and selling 3-Star painted Duplexes. You don’t need any Energy Savers.
  • Every time an empty lot comes up for sale, buy it and put a 3-Star painted Duplex there and sell. Just remember to leave space for the 3 Wind Farms.
  • Every time an unpainted A-Frame comes up for sale, buy it, demolish it, construct a 3-Star painted Duplex there and sell.
  • Construct the 2nd Wind Farm whenever convenient.
  • You will need to buy one lot of 2,500 materials and one lot of 1,000 materials, but it doesn’t matter which order.
  • Construct the 3rd Wind Farm when convenient.

Main Campaign, Level 11

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Solar Tower, 6 houses, 1 Bakery, $16,000
  • Start with: $100,000, 4 workers, 2,000 materials, 2 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: This is an interesting level because there are many different strategies that work. The simplest way is not to sell any houses until the very end, but just construct 3-Star Duplexes, buy 2 A-Frames and 1 Duplex, and collect rent until you have enough money to buy the materials and workers you need.
  • Level Tip: At the very end, construct the Solar Tower and then the Bakery to avoid a black-out when the Bakery comes on line.
  • Construct the 1st Duplex, add 3 Energy Savers, paint, and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Construct the 2nd Duplex, add 3 Energy Savers, paint, and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Buy any empty lots or A-Frames that come up for sale until you have bought 2 A-Frames and all available empty lots.
  • Keep 2 lots free for the Solar Tower and the Bakery, but don’t construct them yet.
  • Keep constructing Duplexes and upgrading them.
  • Buy one of the Duplexes that come up for sale and upgrade it, too.
  • Eventually you will own 5 Duplexes and 2 A-Frames.
  • When you buy an A-Frame, you may need to add Energy Savers to stay under your power allowance. You don’t need to upgrade them.
  • Once you have all 7 of your houses, you just want to collect rent for awhile until you have $150,000 to buy 2,500 materials.
  • If you need to make repairs during this time, it’s ok to buy $10,000 worth of materials once or twice.
  • When you start to get close to the end, sell one of the 3-Star Duplexes to get cash for more materials. Make low-ball offers for any competing houses that are up for sale first so you get the best price.
  • With the money plus all the rent you’ve been earning, buy materials. Buy 2,500 units first.
  • Construct the Solar Tower first. That way you won’t have any black-outs when the Bakery comes online.
  • You will need to buy another 1,000 units of materials to construct the Bakery, so you have a total of 1,500.
  • Construct the Bakery.

Main Campaign, Level 12

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Garden Center, 3 landscaped houses, 1 3-Star Duplex
  • Last minute Goal: Appeal of +30
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 2 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • Start by constructing a Wind Farm on an edge lot with an empty lot next to it. You need the power so you can collect rent.
  • Leave the lot next to the Wind Farm empty for the future Garden Center.
  • Now as quickly as possible construct 3 Duplexes.
  • Paint the 3 Duplexes if it’s not raining. If it’s raining, go on to the next step and paint them once it stops raining.
  • Upgrade all three Duplexes to 3-Stars each.
  • Add 3 Energy Savers each; even though you have a Wind Farm, the Garden Center will take a lot of energy when it comes online.
  • Buy the first 2 vacant lots that come up for sale.
  • Construct 2 more Duplexes, add 3 Energy Savers each, and upgrade each to 3-Stars. You are now collecting a good amount of rent.
  • Buy the first A-Frame that comes up for sale.
  • Paint the A-Frame when it’s not raining.
  • Upgrade the A-Frame with 1 star.
  • Sell the A-Frame.
  • Buy the 2nd A-Frame that comes up for sale.
  • Paint the A-Frame when it’s not raining.
  • Upgrade the A-Frame with 1 star.
  • Sell the A-Frame.
  • Flipping the A-Frames this way will help you meet the last minute Appeal Goal.
  • Buy materials in large quantities, at least 1,000 units, as needed.
  • The Wind Farm generator will break several times. You need 100 materials to repair it. Repair it as quickly as possible because you won’t get any rent while it’s down.
  • Once you have all 5 Duplexes built and they all have 3 added Energy Savers and at least 2 upgrade stars, buy enough materials to construct the Garden Center plus another 100 to cover repairs and landscaping.
  • Train 1 more worker.
  • Construct the Garden Center.
  • As soon as it’s built, landscape 4 houses.

  • Paint the four Duplexes, add 3 Energy Savers to each, and upgrade each to 3-Stars.
  • Buy any vacant lots that become available.
  • Save two lots for the two recreations.
  • Buy the first A-Frame that becomes available. You don’t need to do anything with it; it’s just to help meet the rent requirement.
  • Construct the 5th Duplex, paint, and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • You may need to add 1 Energy Saver to the 5th Duplex when the recreations come online.
  • Construct two Tennis Courts.

  • Level Tip: You will need a Wind Farm to support the energy requirements of this community.
  • Construct the Wind Farm.
  • Start 2 Craftsmans, upgrade to 3-Stars each, and add 1 Energy Saver to each.
  • Construct a 3rd Craftsman, upgrade to 3-Stars, and add 1 Energy Saver.
  • Buy any empty lots and A-Frames that become available.
  • Construct 2 Duplexes, paint, upgrade them to 2 stars each, and add at least 2 Energy Savers each.
  • Buy materials in lots of 1,000 when needed.
  • Repair the Wind Farm whenever needed.
  • You may need to add a few Energy Savers to the A-Frames if you go over the black-out line as you construct the Duplexes.
  • Train the extra 3 workers after you have all 8 houses collecting rent. Although it’s cheaper to construct a Workshop, the extra power requires means a lot of time adding Energy Savers, so it’s easier to get the Speedy time on the level if you just hire the workers at full price at the end of the level.

Main Campaign, Level 15

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 4 Wind Farms, 3 technicians, $15,000 rent
  • Mid-level Goal: $400,000
  • Start with: $120,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 2 technicians, 5 empty lots, 1 Duplex
  • Paint the Duplex and upgrade to 3-Stars. We will sell it eventually, but right now we want the rent.
  • Buy the first two empty lots that become available.
  • Construct 1 Wind Farm.
  • Train 1 technician.
  • Construct 2 Craftsmans and upgrade to 3-Stars each.
  • Once the Craftsmans are collecting rent, sell the Duplex for money for materials.
  • Construct a 3rd Craftsman and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • Construct a 2nd Wind Farm.
  • You need to construct a total of 5 Craftsmans so you can sell 2 and keep 3.
  • You will need to buy and demolish 2 A-Frames so you can put Craftsmans on those lots. The ones next to Wind Farms will be $5,000 cheaper, but just buy the first ones that become available.
  • Construct the 3rd Wind Farm.
  • From now on, buy materials in lots of 1,000 as needed.
  • Construct 2 more Craftsmans and upgrade to 3-Stars each.
  • Sell 2 Craftsmans to make the cash requirement.
  • Construct the final Wind Farm.

Main Campaign, Level 16

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Boutique, +85 Appeal
  • Last minute Goal: 2 Triple Energy Saver Craftsmans
  • Start with: $120,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 technicians
  • 3 empty lots, 1 Craftsman, 1 A-Frame
  • Level Tip: Construct a Wind Farm where it will negatively impact the fewest homes. Ideally you should construct it so you can put the Boutique next to it.
  • Level Tip: By the end of the level you will construct 2 Public Pools, each of which needs to be in between two houses, so plan your sites to leave those kinds of lots free for the Public Pools.
  • Construct a Wind Farm.
  • Construct 2 Craftsmans, upgrade to 3-Stars each, and add 3 Energy Savers each.
  • Demolish the A-Frame and construct another 3-Star Craftsman there.
  • If a Duplex comes up for sale, buy it, paint it, upgrade to 3-Stars, and sell it again. You only need to do this once.
  • Continue to buy materials in lots of 1,000 as needed.
  • Towards the end, buy 2,500 materials and construct the Boutique.
  • You may need to add a few more Energy Savers to get everything back online once the Boutique opens.

Main Campaign, Level 17

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Recycling Center, 6 3-Star Craftsmans
  • Last minute Goal: at least 6 painted Craftsmans
  • Start with: $120,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Use the most remote empty lot for the Recycling Center.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Buy the first empty lot that becomes available.
  • Construct a Wind Farm any where it will affect the fewest houses.
  • Paint all Craftsmans that you construct.
  • Construct a Craftsman, upgrade to 3 stars, and add 3 Energy Savers.
  • It will take all of the energy from the Wind Farm just to keep the Recycling Center going, so it’s very important that you anticipate power needs by adding extra Energy Savers to existing homes before construction is done on a new one.
  • Now just keep constructing painted 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Craftsmans.
  • You may start constructing a new Craftsman as soon as the previous has two Energy Savers and you can add the 3rd Energy Saver while the new house is being built.
  • Remember that technicians and workers are from different labor pools, so keep both groups working at all times.
  • You will need to buy one A-Frame and demolish it to make space to construct the 6th Craftsman. Buy any one that becomes available, although the ones next to the Wind Farm will be cheapest.
  • Buy materials in lots of 1,000 as needed.
  • As soon as all 6 Craftsmans are painted and upgraded to 3-Stars, you will be done.

Main Campaign, Level 18

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Workshop, own 8 hours, 5 inspections +50 Appeal
  • Start with: $120,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 technicians
  • Construct a Wind Farm.
  • Construct a Workshop. Keep an empty lot next to the Workshop for the Tennis Court.
  • Construct a painted, 3-Star, Triple Energy Saver Craftsman.
  • Inspect the Craftsman.
  • Buy any empty lot or A-Frame that comes up for sale.
  • Paint the A-Frames, but you don’t need to do anything else to them except inspect them.
  • Keep constructing painted, 3-Star, Triple Energy Saver Craftsmans. Inspect as the last step.
  • Buy materials in lots of 1,000 as needed.
  • Towards the end, construct 2 Tennis Courts, one near the Workshop so it doesn’t affect any house negatively, and one between two houses.

Main Campaign, Level 19

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Tech Center, 6 technicians, 3 Triple Energy Saver Duplexes
  • Start with: $150,000, 5 workers, 2,800 materials, 3 technicians, 1 Craftsman, 6 empty lots
  • Paint the Craftsman and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • Construct a Wind Farm.
  • Construct the Tech Center.
  • Construct 3 painted Triple Energy Saver Duplexes. You don’t need to upgrade.
  • Buy the first 2 empty lots that come available.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Craftsman.
  • As soon as the 2nd Craftsman has 1 star, sell the 1st Craftsman. Low-ball any competing offers.
  • Buy materials as needed 1,000 units at a time. If you get stuck having to repair the Wind Farm, you may need to buy 500 units.
  • Construct a 3rd 3-Star painted Craftsman.
  • Sell the 2nd Craftsman as soon as this 3rd one has 1 star.
  • Construct a 4th Craftsman.
  • Paint the 4th Craftsman and upgrade with 1 star.
  • Sell the 3rd Craftsman as soon as the 4th one has one star.
  • Train 3 more technicians.
  • You may not need to upgrade the 4th Craftsman any further. Sell it as soon as you can get enough money to make the money Goal.

Main Campaign, Level 20

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Condos, 2 supercharged Solar Towers, +80 Appeal, rent $50,000
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,000 materials, 4 technicians, 2 A-Frames, 5 empty lots
  • Level Tip: To beat this level you will need to own 3 painted 3-Star Condos to make the rent, construct two Solar Towers and the Tech Center in areas where they won’t negatively affect any houses, and add 4 pools to the neighborhood in lots where they will influence houses.
  • Level Tip: Since you’re going to supercharge the Solar Towers, you won’t need to add Energy Savers.
  • Level Tip: You will also need to construct one painted 3-Star Craftsman and sell it for money for materials.
  • Construct one Solar Tower. Preferably choose a spot where you can put the other Solar Tower next to it.
  • Construct the Tech Center.
  • Assign one technician to supercharge the Solar Tower.
  • Construct one painted 3-Star Condo, preferably in a spot where you can put pools on each side of it.
  • Construct the 2nd Solar Tower and supercharge it.
  • From now on buy materials as needed in the highest quantity you can afford. This will often be 2,500, which is fine; you need a lot of materials for this level.
  • Buy any empty lots that become available.
  • Construct a 2nd painted 3-Star Condo.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Craftsman.
  • Sell the Craftsman so you will have cash for materials.
  • Construct a 3rd painted 3-Star Condo.
  • Construct 2 Public Pools. Try to pick lots where they will positively impact 2 houses. It’s OK to put a Public Pool on each side of one house; you’ll still get double benefit.
  • Once the Public Pools are complete, you should meet all the Goals for the level.
  • If you’re still short 5 or 10 Appeal points, buy any unpainted house that comes up for sale and paint it.

Main Campaign, Level 21

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 5 Painted Condos, 2 shops, no empty lots
  • Mid-level Goal: construct a Public Pool
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,000 materials, 4 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: You need to be very efficient on this level and concentrate on getting the Condos up before you start painting or upgrading them. That’s the only way to get enough rent coming in to buy materials in 2,500 unit lots.
  • You’re not using much power to begin with, so start by constructing 4 Condos. Get each one started as quickly as possible, but don’t paint or upgrade them yet.
  • Throughout the level, buy any empty lots that become available.
  • Now construct a Solar Tower some place out of the way.
  • Buy materials as needed in 2,500 units. Only buy less if the Solar Tower goes down and you need to repair it so you can collect rent again.
  • Start the 5th Condo as soon as possible. You will have to wait until you can buy more materials, though.
  • Keep painting and upgrading Condos until all 5 are up to 3-Stars. This will take most of the rest of the level.
  • After you have the 5th Condo constructed, use the next set of materials to construct a Bakery. You can put it anywhere.
  • Continue upgrading the Condos. When you have enough money to buy the next 2,500 in materials, construct a 2nd Bakery.
  • Finally, buy enough materials to construct a Public Pool and finish upgrading the Condos.
  • As soon as you have $120,000, train 3 more workers, and start constructing the Public Pool.

Main Campaign, Level 22

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Mini-golf, Appeal +100, $1,000,000
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Save two empty lots that are each between two houses. You will eventually put Mini-golfs here to raise the Appeal level.
  • Construct 1 Condo.
  • As soon as the Condo is built, construct 1 Solar Tower far away from other houses.
  • Once the workers are available, paint the Condo and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Construct a Wind Farm next to the Solar Tower.
  • Now construct 3 more Condos as quickly as you can.
  • Upgrade the Condos one at a time to 3-Stars and 3 Energy Savers.
  • Buy materials as needed in 2,500 lots (you may need to wait to earn the money).
  • Buy any empty lots that come up for sale.
  • Buy any two houses that come up for sale, paint them, and sell them again. This is just to help make the Appeal Goal.
  • Once you have started construction on the 4th Condo, you can sell the first one that is fully upgraded with 3 Energy Savers. Don’t sell it for less than $20,000 below acting price. If necessary, low-ball competing houses to raise your price.
  • Continue upgrading the Condos.
  • Construct the Mini-golfs as soon as convenient, but remember they will require more energy, so you will want to have Energy Savers in place on the houses first.

Main Campaign, Level 23

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Garden Center, 1 Tennis Court, 1 Public Pool, 1 Mini-golf
  • Mid-level Goal: $45,000 in rent
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • Level Tip: This is a tricky one, because the only way to get super speedy efficiency is to know in advance what the Mid-level Goal is, because you have to construct 4 Condos for income before you construct all the recreations or you can’t finish in time.
  • Start by constructing one Solar Tower. Eventually you want two, so try to pick a location where there are two lots next to each other and away from everything else.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Condo and sell the Condo.
  • Buy any empty lots that come up for sale, but don’t buy anything else yet; you need the money for materials.
  • As soon as you’ve sold the first Condo, buy 5,000 units of materials.
  • Construct a 2nd painted 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Condo and sell it.
  • Construct a 2nd Solar Tower next to the first.
  • Now you want to, as quickly as possible, construct 4 painted 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Condos. You’re going to keep these to meet the rent requirement and to generate income.
  • Buy another set of 5,000 units of materials.
  • To make all the requirements you will need to buy several smaller homes and demolish them to make room for either Condos or recreations. You can buy things as they become available, but stay focused on constructing the Condos first.
  • If you do buy any smaller houses, go ahead and demolish them right away. This helps the energy load until you’ve got the Energy Savers added to the Condos.
  • Once your 4th Condo is constructed, you can start constructing the 3 recreations and the Garden Center. It doesn’t really matter which order you construct these in. Just try not to construct recreations next to a small house you’re going to need to buy later, or its price will go up.
  • You may need to be patient and wait until you have enough cash to buy materials in 2,500 unit lots. That’s OK. Only buy in 1,000 unit lots if you have a rent-producing property or a Solar Tower that needs repair.
  • This will make Super Speedy Efficiency with a few seconds to spare.

Main Campaign, Level 24

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Hydro Turbine, 5 Triple Energy Saver Condos, 1,500,000
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 5 empty lots, 1 Craftsman
  • Remember the Hydro Turbine can only be built on a waterfront lot.
  • Paint the Craftsman, upgrade 3 times, add 1 Energy Saver and sell.
  • Purchase 5,000 materials.
  • Train one additional worker.
  • Construct the Hydro Turbine.
  • Buy any empty lots that come up for sale, but don’t buy anything else.
  • Now you are going to be working on two different sets of Condos at the same time. You will need 5 Triple Energy Saver Condos to keep, and 4 3-Star Condos with 1 Energy Saver each to sell.
  • Start the process by starting the first for-sale Condo.
  • Once it’s built, start constructing the 1st to-keep Condo.
  • Paint the for-sale Condo, upgrade 3 times, and add 1 Energy Saver, but don’t sell it yet.
  • Add 1 Energy Saver to the to-keep Condo, but don’t do anything else yet.
  • Start constructing the 2nd to-sell Condo.
  • Add 1 Energy Saver to the 2nd to-sell Condo.
  • As soon as the 2nd to-sell Condo is constructed, you can sell the first to-sell Condo. Low-ball any competing houses, and don’t accept less than $389,000.
  • Buy another 5,000 materials.
  • Now start working on upgrading the 2nd for-sale Condo. You want it to be painted, with 3 upgrades, and 1 Energy Saver.
  • Start constructing the 3rd to-keep Condo.
  • Add 1 Energy Saver to the 3rd to-keep Condo.
  • You will have to buy 2 A-Frames and demolish them to make way for Condos. Do that whenever it’s convenient.
  • Construct the 3rd for-sale Condo.
  • As soon as the 3rd for-sale Condo is constructed, sell the 2nd one.
  • Paint the 3rd for-sale Condo.
  • Construct the 4th to-keep Condo.
  • Add 1 Energy Saver to the 4th to-keep Condo..
  • Upgrade the 3rd for-sale Condo 3 times and add 1 Energy Saver.
  • From this point on keep adding Energy Savers to all the to-keep Condos as convenient. You want to end up with 5 to-keep Condos with 3 Energy Savers each.
  • Construct the 4th to-sell Condo.
  • When you need materials, buy one more set of 2,500.
  • As soon as the 4th to-sell Condo is constructed, sell the 3rd one.
  • Construct the 5th to-keep Condo. Add 1 Energy Saver to it.
  • Upgrade the 4th to-sell Condo 3 times and add 1 Energy Saver.
  • Keep adding Energy Savers to the to-keep Condos until you have 5 with 3 Energy Savers each.
  • Start upgrading the to-keep Condos for more rent, using the materials you still have. Don’t buy any more materials. But you can paint them and upgrade them to increase rent.
  • When the time starts to get close, sell the last for-sale Condo.

Main Campaign, Level 25

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 6 painted Craftsmans, 6 landscaped lots, 1 Bakery, 4 empty lots
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 4 empty lots, 1 A-Frame, 1 Duplex
  • Train one worker.
  • Paint the Duplex.
  • Construct a Hydro Turbine.
  • Upgrade the Duplex 3 times, add 1 Energy Saver, and sell.
  • Buy 2,500 materials.
  • Buy any empty lots that become available.
  • Now you just want to construct 4 painted Craftsmans and buy 2 and paint those.
  • Once you have the 4 Craftsmans built and painted, upgrade them to 3-Stars each to collect the rent.
  • Construct the Bakery to collect its income.
  • Construct the Garden Center and start landscaping the Craftsmans.
  • Buy materials as needed in lots of 1,000.
  • Once you have the Craftsmans and the Bakery bringing in income and the Garden Center is built, buy any inexpensive properties that come up for sale and demolish them until you have 4 vacant lots.

Main Campaign, Level 26

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Workshop, 10 workers, 7 3-Star Condos
  • Last minute Goal: 3 Wind Farms
  • Start with: $150,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: 7 3-Star Condos will take a lot of materials, a lot of workers, and a lot of power. It will also take a lot of time unless we have Lightning Efficiency workers. So we’re going to need a Hydro Turbine, a Workshop, and a Recycling Center. The 3 Wind Farms will help with energy requirements so we don’t have to spend too much extra time and materials adding Energy Savers.
  • Level Tip: Also, we are going to have to buy some cheaper homes and demolish them to make room for Condos, so in a reverse of our usual policy, try to put all the commercial buildings near homes to drive down their value since we’ll have to buy them later.
  • Train 1 worker.
  • Construct 1 Condo.
  • Construct 1 Hydro Turbine.
  • As quickly as possible, paint the Condo and upgrade to 3-Stars. Don’t add any Energy Savers.
  • Sell the Condo for full price. You may need to lowball competing properties.
  • Buy exactly enough materials for the Recycling Center and construct it.
  • Buy 2,500 units of materials.
  • Construct the Workshop.
  • Buy Lighting Efficiency training.
  • Train 3 extra workers.
  • Construct 2 Condos as quickly as possible.
  • Construct 1 Wind Farm.
  • Upgrade the two Condos to 3-Stars each and paint them.
  • Construct 2 more Condos.
  • Construct the 2nd Wind Farm.
  • Keep upgrading Condos to 3-Stars each.
  • Buy more materials as needed in a minimum of 1,000 units each time.
  • Buy any empty lots or A-Frames that come up for sale to make space for Condos.
  • At this point you should be getting good rental income, so you can go ahead and buy houses that are under $150,000 to demolish.
  • Construct 2 more Condos and paint the Condos.
  • Upgrade all Condos to 3-Stars each.
  • Construct the 3rd Wind Farm.
  • Construct the 7th Condo.
  • Upgrade the 7th Condo to 3-Stars; you may not have time to paint this one.

Main Campaign, Level 27

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 4 painted Condos, 3 painted Craftsman, 2 shops, +50 Appeal
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 3 empty lots, 1 A-Frame
  • Save 1 empty lot between two houses for an eventual Mini-golf to make the Appeal Goal.
  • Train 1 worker.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Condo.
  • Construct a Solar Tower.
  • Sell the Condo.
  • Buy exactly enough materials to construct a Recycling Center and construct it.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials.
  • Construct a Workshop.
  • Buy Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Condo.
  • As soon as it comes up for sale, buy the one house suitable for a Hydro Turbine, demolish it, and construct the Hydro Turbine there.
  • Continue to buy materials as needed in lots of at least 1,000.
  • Keep constructing Condos and painting them until you have 4 of them.
  • Upgrade Condos when convenient to increase your rent.
  • Start constructing Craftsmans.
  • You will have to buy some cheaper houses and demolish them to make room.
  • Paint each of the Craftsmans, but don’t upgrade. You will eventually have 3.
  • Construct a Bakery.
  • Construct a Mini-golf between two houses.
  • Buy one last set of at least 2,500 materials.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Construct the 2nd Bakery.
  • Although you can assign a worker to the shops, if you wait to construct the shops until near the end of the level, you won’t have to.
  • Demolish the Workshop. This should make the Appeal Goal.

Main Campaign, Level 28

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 3 Triple Energy Saver Georgians, 7 technicians, $100,000 rent, 3,000,000
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 4 technicians, 3 empty lots, 1 Craftsman, 1 A-Frame
  • Train 1 worker.
  • Construct 1 Georgian.
  • Construct 1 Solar Tower.
  • As soon as the lot that can take a Hydro Turbine comes up for sale, buy it and demolish the house there.
  • Paint the Georgian and upgrade 3 times.
  • Sell the Georgian for full price.
  • Buy exactly enough materials to construct the Recycling Center and construct it.
  • Buy 5,000 materials.
  • Construct the Hydro Turbine.
  • Buy any empty lots that come up for sale, but don’t buy anything else yet.
  • Construct the Workshop.
  • Buy Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Train 3 more workers. You want to eventually have 19 workers total.
  • Construct Georgians two at a time.
  • Add Energy Savers to each Georgian as you go to stay under the black-out line.
  • Paint and upgrade the Georgians. Upgrade one at a time until it has 3-Stars, but spread the Energy Savers around.
  • Once you have 4 Georgians collecting rent, train 3 more technicians. You want to eventually have 10.
  • Always buy materials in 5,000 unit lots.
  • Keep constructing Georgians one or two at a time.
  • Once you have 5 Georgians, you can start selling them one at a time. Make sure any one you sell after the very first one has 3-Stars and 3 Energy Savers. You want to make sure you never hit a black-out except for generator repairs or you’ll lose rent.
  • Try to sell each Georgian for full price by low-balling competing properties. You will need to sell at least 4.
  • Once you have 4 Georgians collecting rent, whenever you’re short of workers, add another 3 until you have 19.
  • Once you have 4 Georgians collecting rent, whenever you’re short of technicians, add another 3 until you have 10.
  • Buy smaller properties to demolish and replace with Georgians.
  • Towards the end if you happen to buy a Craftsman and you’re close on money, it may be better to just paint it, upgrade it once, and sell it to make the money Goal.

Main Campaign, Level 29

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 3 Hydro Turbines, 8 Duplexes
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • Level Tip: There are many different ways to do this level. In order to get enough money to pay for everything, we built 3 Georgians early, sold 2, and kept 1 for rent.
  • Train 1 worker.
  • Construct the Workshop. The power will go off, but that’s OK for now, we’re not worried about rent, anyway.
  • Pay for Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Construct 1 painted 3-Star Georgian and sell.
  • If an empty lot comes up for sale, buy it.
  • Buy 5,000 materials.
  • Buy the two houses on the other Hydro Turbine lots once they come up for sale, inspect them, and leave them collecting rent until you need the energy.
  • Construct a Hydro Turbine.
  • Construct 2 more painted Georgians.
  • Upgrade 1 Georgian 3 times.
  • Sell the 3-Star Georgian. Keep the other for rent.
  • Now quickly construct painted Duplexes as fast as possible.
  • When you have 2 or 3 painted Duplexes, construct the 2nd Hydro Turbine.
  • Once you have 4 painted Duplexes, construct the Garden Center.
  • Keep buying materials as needed, at least 2,500 at a time.
  • Upgrade the Georgian once for added rent.
  • Paint and landscape Duplexes as convenient.
  • Keep constructing Duplexes until you have 7. You don’t need to upgrade or add Energy Savers to any. Just paint and landscape and inspect them so you don’t have to pay repair bills.
  • Buy one last round of 5,000 materials unit.
  • Construct the 3rd Hydro Turbine.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center and put the 8th painted Duplex there.
  • Landscape the 8th Duplex.
  • As soon as the 8th Duplex is landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and construct a Tech Center there.
  • Train 3 more technicians. If you’re short on time you can start their training earlier while you’re still landscaping, although it will cost more.
  • Assign technicians to supercharge each Hydro Turbine.

Main Campaign, Level 30

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Grocery, +100 Appeal, 10 houses
  • Last minute Goal: no empty lots
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • This one is easy. Your ultimate Goal is to construct 1 3-Star Georgian and sell it for cash, construct 2 more 3-Star Georgians and keep them for rent money.
  • Level Tip: To make the Appeal number, paint and landscape all 10 of your houses and add 1 Mini-golf in between any two houses.
  • Level Tip: 1 Solar Tower will provide enough energy as long as all of the other houses you construct are small, even A-Frames will be good enough. Don’t construct the Grocery until the very end.
  • Level Tip: Choose the lots carefully so that the Recycling Center, Workshop, and Solar Tower don’t negatively impact other houses. You can tear down the Garden Center towards the end and construct the Grocery there, so it won’t matter as much.
  • Level Tip: Leave one lot empty between two houses for the Mini-golf course. It’s OK if this has an A-Frame on it, you can afford to tear it down at the end of the game.
  • Construct the Workshop. Try to choose a place where you can put the Workshop, Recycling Center, and Solar Tower together, if necessary with the Bakery as a buffer before the next houses. You can tear down the Recycling Center towards the end if you need to, but you need to keep the Workshop and the Solar Tower.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Train 3 workers. This will be all you need for the level if you don’t construct the Grocery until the very end.
  • Buy as many materials as you can afford.
  • Construct a painted 3-Star Georgian.
  • If you have enough materials, add 1 Energy Saver to the Georgia.
  • Sell the Georgian.
  • Construct the Solar Tower.
  • Construct a 2nd painted Georgian.
  • You’re going to keep this 2nd Georgian for rent, so upgrade as convenient.
  • Now that you have some income from the Georgian, you can buy empty lots as they become available.
  • Construct a 3rd painted Georgian. Again, you’re keeping this one for rent, so upgrade as convenient.
  • Construct the Garden Center. From now you’re going to paint and landscape everything you own.
  • The only things you need to upgrade are the 2 Georgians.
  • Buy materials as needed in lots of 1,000 or more.
  • Inspect each house once it has been painted and landscaped so you don’t have to do repairs.
  • You can also inspect your Georgians in between upgrades.
  • Don’t worry about the Grocery for now; you’ll construct it on the lot where the Garden Center is after you’ve landscaped 10 houses. This will reduce your energy requirements since you will get rid of the Garden Center before you build the Grocery.
  • Construct A-Frames on empty lots.
  • Buy any house under $175,000 that comes up for sale.
  • Paint any of these houses that you buy.
  • Landscape the houses.
  • Inspect them before or after the landscaping, but always after the painting.
  • Once you own about 8 houses, construct a Mini-golf course in between any two houses.
  • After you own and have landscaped 10 houses, demolish the Garden Center.
  • Construct the Grocery where the Garden Center was.
  • If necessary at the very end you can demolish the Recycling Center to improve your Appeal rating, but remember you’ll have to construct an A-Frame there since you’re not allowed to have an empty lot. If you’ve selected the right locations for the houses, though, you won’t need to tear it down.

Main Campaign, Level 31

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Business Center, 1 Fancy Grocery, 1 Fancy Boutique, 1 Fancy Bakery
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 4 empty lots, 2 A-Frames
  • Level Tip: You will need 1 supercharged Solar Tower for each Fancy shop, but they will bring in some good money. So the basic strategy is to construct the Workshop, Recycling Center, and 1 3-Star Georgian. Sell the Georgian for cash for materials. Construct a Solar Tower, the Tech Center, and the Business Center. Supercharge the Solar Tower. Now keep constructing shops and Solar Towers to keep, and Georgians to sell.
  • Construct the Workshop.
  • Pay for Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Train 3 workers.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Construct 1 Georgian paint and upgrade as much as possible, and then sell.
  • Construct 1 Solar Tower.
  • Construct a 2nd Georgian, paint it, and keep it for rent.
  • Construct a Tech Center.
  • Supercharge the Solar Tower.
  • From now on by materials when needed in 5,000 unit lots.
  • Construct the Bakery.
  • Construct the Business Center.
  • Make the Bakery Fancy.
  • Upgrade the Georgian to 3-Stars.
  • Construct a 2nd Solar Tower and supercharge it.
  • Construct a 3rd Georgian. Once it starts collecting rent, sell the 2nd.
  • Paint the 3rd Georgian and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • From now on you will need to buy cheaper houses and demolish them to make room for Georgians.
  • Train 3 more technicians.
  • Construct the 3rd Solar Tower and supercharge it.
  • Construct the Boutique and make it Fancy.
  • Construct a 4th Georgian. Once it starts collecting rent, sell the 3rd.
  • Paint the 4th Georgian and upgrade to4 stars.
  • Construct the 4th Solar Tower and supercharge it.
  • Construct the Grocery Store and make it Fancy.
  • Construct a 5th Georgian. Once it starts collecting rent, sell the 4th.
  • Paint and upgrade the 5th Georgian.
  • Now it’s just a matter of getting enough cash. You can sell one more Georgian and construct another for rent, or you may just be able to collect enough for your shops.

Main Campaign, Level 32

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 amphitheater, +120 Appeal, $120,000 rent
  • Start with: $200,000, 6 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: It is very important for this level that you leave spaces for 3 recreations that will influence 2 houses each. However, you can put the Recycling Center on one and the Garden Center on another, since you can tear both of those down later.
  • Construct a Workshop.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Train 3 additional workers.
  • Construct a Georgian, paint it, upgrade to 2 stars.
  • Buy 1,000 more materials. This is enough for a 3rd star for the Georgia plus the Recycling Center.
  • Upgrade the Georgian to 3-Stars and sell.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Purchase 5,000 units of materials.
  • Construct another Georgian and paint it. You will keep this one for rent.
  • Construct 3 Solar Towers.
  • Construct a Tech Center on the space where you will construct the Garden Center.
  • Continue to buy materials in 5,000 unit lots as needed.
  • Train 6 more technicians.
  • Supercharge all 3 Solar Towers.
  • Demolish the Tech Center and construct a Garden Center in its place.
  • Continue to construct 3-Star Georgians and paint them and landscape them. You don’t need to sell any; you just want the rent from 6 3-Star Georgians.
  • Train 3 more workers.
  • You don’t need to add any Energy Savers, because the Solar Towers provide enough energy for everything.
  • You can buy A-Frames as they become available, demolish them, and replace with Georgians.
  • Construct 1 Amphitheater in the empty spot you’ve been saving.
  • Buy another round of 5,000 units so you have enough to construct the final Amphitheater.
  • If you’ve finished landscaping 6 Georgians, you can demolish the Garden Center and put an Amphitheater in its place.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center. If necessary, put Tennis Court in its place.

Main Campaign, Level 33

  • Whenever needed, buy 5,000 units of materials.
  • Continue to construct Condos, paint them, and add 3 Energy Savers to each.
  • Upgrade 2 of the Condos to 3-Stars each, but you don’t need to upgrade the others.
  • Construct 3 more Wind Farms as convenient. Remember to supercharge them.
  • Once you have 5 Condos and 5 Wind Farms built, buy one more set of materials, then demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Built a Garden Center.
  • Landscape the Condos.

  • Construct a Workshop.
  • Train 3 additional workers.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency.
  • Construct a Georgian. Paint it and upgrade to2 stars.
  • Purchase materials needed for the 3rd star.
  • Upgrade the Georgian to 3-Stars and sell.
  • Buy enough materials to construct the Recycling Center.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Buy the most materials you can afford.

  • Construct 2 Solar Towers.
  • Construct a 3rd Georgian. Paint it and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • From now on, buy materials as needed, at least 1,000 at a time.
  • Purchase any empty lots that become available.
  • Construct the Tech Center.
  • Train 6 additional technicians.
  • Supercharge the first 2 Solar Towers.
  • From now supercharge all Solar Towers you construct.
  • Now construct a Georgian, a Solar Tower, a Georgian, a Solar Tower, etc. until you have a total of 5 Georgians and 4 supercharged Solar Towers.
  • Keep all 3-Star Georgians inspected so you don’t have to pay repairs.
  • Keep buying empty lots and cheap houses. You still need places to put a 5th Solar Tower and 1 more empty lot (you will be able to demolish the Tech Center, Recycling Center, and Workshop for the other 3 empty lots).
  • Once you have $500,000, when the house on the Hydro Turbine lot comes up for sale, quickly put a lot of your Georgians up for sale and then low-ball the house on the Hydro Turbine lot. You should be able to get it.
  • Demolish the house on the Hydro Turbine lot and construct the Hydro Turbine.
  • Construct the last Solar Tower and supercharge it.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Demolish the Tech Center.
  • Demolish the house you bought to make the 4th empty lot.
  • Once you have 2.4 million dollars, start selling Georgians one at a time. Get full price, or close to it. Low-ball any competing properties.
  • Once you have made $5 million, demolish the Workshop, and the level will be complete.

  • Paint the Apartment.
  • Construct a Tech Center.
  • Train 6 additional technicians.
  • Buy the Genius Certificate training at the Tech Center.
  • Supercharge the Hydro Turbine.
  • Add 3 Energy Savers to the Apartment. This first Apartment will also be upgraded to 3-Stars. None of the other Apartments need upgrades, just paint, landscaping, and Energy Savers.
  • Now just keep constructing Apartments, painting them, and adding Energy Savers to them. Start the next Apartment constructing when you have 2 Energy Savers on the previous one. You need a total of 6.
  • Whenever you need more workers, train another 3 until you have a total of 21.
  • You can train additional technicians if you need them.
  • Once you have 4 Apartments built, construct a Garden Center. Now start landscaping all 6 of your Apartments.
  • Construct the Tennis Court.
  • Construct the Public Pool.

Main Campaign, Level 37

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 Cinema, +120 Appeal, $10,000,000
  • Start with: $500,000, 6 workers, 1,500 materials, 5 technicians, 1 Hydro Turbine lot, 4 other empty lots
  • Level Tip: To reach the Appeal rating, you need to be able to put recreations in between houses, so leave lots for that purpose. Initially you can put the Recycling Center and Tech Center on two of these lots, then eventually replace them.
  • Level Tip: Ultimately you will need to have sold 4 3-Star Apartments, kept 5, and have 2 Amphitheaters in between two houses each.
  • Construct 1 Workshop.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency.
  • Train 3 workers.
  • Construct an Apartment. Paint it. Sell it as soon as it’s ready.
  • Buy just enough materials to construct a Recycling Center.

  • Buy 5,000 materials.
  • From now on buy materials as needed in 5,000 units.
  • Construct an Apartment. Paint it and upgrade to 3-Stars.
  • Construct a Hydro Turbine.
  • Construct a Solar Tower.
  • Construct the Tech Center.
  • Buy the Genius Certificate training.
  • Train 3 more technicians.
  • Supercharge the Hydro Turbine.
  • Supercharge the Solar Tower. Even with these power sources you will need to add 3 Energy Savers to each Apartment, but this will give you enough power to run the houses, the Cinema, and the recreations.
  • Now construct Apartments, 2 at a time, painting each, upgrading each to 3-Stars, and adding 3 Energy Savers to each.
  • Keep your Apartments inspected regularly so you don’t have to repair too many.
  • Keep buying any house under $400,000 as it becomes available, and demolish it to use the lot.
  • Construct the Garden Center. From now on, landscape every constructing you own.
  • Train more workers, up to 21 workers.
  • Train more technicians, up to a total of 15. Don’t demolish the Tech Center until you have 9 Apartment houses with 3 Energy Savers each; you need the Genius Certificate training for speed.
  • Don’t sell any Apartments yet; you want to collect the rent. Just keep constructing them.
  • When convenient, construct the Cinema so it impacts only one Apartment. You will have to occasionally assign a worker to it, but that’s OK.
  • Once there are 9 Apartments total, and all have been painted and landscaped, demolish the Garden Center. Construct an Amphitheater there as long as it affects two houses.
  • When all 9 Apartments upgraded to at least 2 Energy Savers each, buy one more set of 5,000 materials, then demolish the Recycling Center and construct a 2nd Amphitheater there as long as it affects at least 2 houses.
  • Demolish the Tech Center and construct one more Apartment constructing there. Paint it.
  • Once you have the Amphitheaters built you can start selling the Apartments one at a time. Try to get full price by low-balling competing properties. Keep 5 in order to make the rent requirement, so you will be selling 4 or 5 at this point.

Main Campaign, Level 38

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source

  • From now on, buy materials as needed in 5,000 units.
  • Demolish the A-Frame so you can use the lot.
  • Construct a Nuclear Reactor.
  • Buy another 5,000 units of materials.
  • Construct an Apartment. Paint it.
  • Construct the Tech Center. Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Buy the Genius Certificate training.
  • Upgrade the Apartment to 3-Stars.
  • Construct the Garden Center. You won’t be able to tear it down until the very end, but it won’t matter.
  • Construct the 2nd Nuclear Reactor and supercharge it.
  • Now all you have to do is keep constructing Apartments, paint and landscape them.
  • Upgrade 3 to 3-Stars for the rent money.
  • Buy the last 3 houses and paint and landscape them.
  • Construct 3 Amphitheaters and one pool.
  • The only building you’ll have to demolish is the Recycling Center.

Main Campaign, Level 40

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 10 painted Condos, 1 Fancy Bakery, 1 Fancy Boutique, 1 Fancy Grocery Store, 1 Fancy Cinema
  • Start with: $100,000, 7 workers, 2,500 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • Level Tip: You will need a Business Center to make the Fancy businesses.
  • Level Tip: Fancy businesses take a lot of power, so we recommend a Nuclear Reactor.
  • Level Tip: At the end, all the lots will be filled as follows: 1 Nuclear Reactor, 4 Fancy businesses, 10 painted Condos, 1 Apartment you own, and 1 Apartment you don’t own.
  • Construct 1 Workshop.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency.
  • Train 1 worker.
  • Construct a Georgian. Paint, upgrade once. Sell it as soon as it’s ready.
  • Buy just enough materials to construct the Recycling Center and construct it.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials. From now on, buy materials as needed in 5,000 units.
  • Train 3 workers.
  • Construct an Apartment. You are going to keep this for rental income. Paint it and upgrade to 3-Stars as soon as convenient.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials.
  • Construct a Nuclear Reactor. This will provide enough power for the community if you construct things in the order we suggest. If you have trouble with power you can also construct a Tech Center, supercharge the reactor, and then demolish the Tech Center, but it shouldn’t be necessary.
  • Now construct 6 Condos as quickly as you can.
  • Buy materials as needed, 5,000 at a time.
  • Paint each of the Condos.
  • Upgrade each of the first 6 Condos with one star to begin with.
  • Add workers as needed until you have 18.
  • Keep the houses inspected so you don’t have to pay for repairs.
  • Once you have 6 Condos painted with at least one star, construct the Business Center.
  • Continue upgrading the Condos until each has 3-Stars.
  • Now you can start constructing the 4 shops, one at a time. Make each one Fancy.
  • Demolish the Business Center and put a Condo there. Paint it and inspect it.
  • At this point you should have enough income to start buying the more expensive houses and demolishing them to construct painted Condos. Don’t buy the Apartment constructing, but buy everything else. Note that as you are demolishing them the energy needs of the community are going down.
  • Buy 15,000 materials, then demolish the Recycling Center and put a Condo there.
  • Once you have all the Fancy shops and 9 Condos built and inspected you can demolish the Workshop and construct the 10th painted Condo there. Give yourself enough time since it will be a slower construct once the Workshop is gone.

Main Campaign, Level 41

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 6 Triple Energy Saver A-Frames, 9 empty lots
  • Mid-level Goal: paint the 6 A-Frames
  • Last minute Goal: landscape the 6 A-Frames
  • Start with: $200,000, 7 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots, 1 Craftsman on a Hydro Turbine lot

  • From now on, buy materials as needed in 5,000 units.
  • Construct a Hydro Turbine on that lot.
  • Paint the Apartment and inspect it again.
  • Now you have to be patient. Construct 1 A-Frame, and paint it.
  • Wait until you have enough cash to buy 5,000 units materials.
  • Upgrade the Apartment as quickly as you can to 3-Stars and inspect it again. This is your main revenue.
  • Start constructing 4 more A-Frames.
  • Purchase the one A-Frame already built when it becomes available.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency from the Workshop if you haven’t already.
  • Construct a Garden Center.
  • Train additional workers as needed, up to 15.
  • Now paint each of the 6 A-Frames, landscape, add 3 Energy Savers to each, and inspect.
  • As soon as the 6 A-Frames are landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and construct a Grocery Store there.
  • Once an A-Frame is ready, put it up for sale, but don’t actually sell.
  • Buy any empty lot that becomes available.
  • As other houses come up for sale, once you have 5 A-Frames up for sale, low-ball your offers if you don’t have enough money. When you get the new house, inspect it and leave it earning income for awhile. If it ever needs repair, demolish it.
  • Keep buying properties until you own everything.
  • Now start demolishing everything except the A-Frames and the Workshop.
  • Finally demolish the Workshop.

Main Campaign, Level 42

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source

  • Construct a Workshop. Do not buy Lightning Efficiency yet.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Construct an Apartment and sell it immediately.
  • Buy enough materials to construct a Recycling Center.
  • Buy 5,000 materials. From now on buy material in 5,000 unit lots.
  • Construct a Nuclear Reactor where it will not influence any houses.
  • Buy 5000 materials.
  • Construct an Apartment. Paint it, but don’t add upgrades yet; we want to construct at least 5 Apartments first.
  • Construct a Tech Center and supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Construct a 2nd Apartment. Paint it.
  • Train a total of 21 techs.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency from the Workshop.
  • Construct a 2nd Nuclear Reactor and supercharge it.
  • Demolish the Tech Center and construct the Garden Center. From now on landscape all Apartments.
  • Now construct Apartments as quickly as possible. Paint each, landscape, and upgrade to 3-Stars. You will not have to add Energy Savers because of the Nuclear Reactors.
  • Construct the Business Center.
  • Construct 2 Fancy bakeries.
  • Demolish the Business Center when you need the space to construct Apartments.
  • Add workers whenever needed until you have a total of 24.
  • Keep buying houses. You will need all of them. Keep the Apartments. You need a total of 10.
  • Construct 3 Amphitheaters and 1 pool. If you have landscaped all the Apartments, this should meet the Appeal requirement.

Main Campaign, Level 43

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: rent $300,000, $15,000,000
  • Mid-level Goal: 3-Star Craftsman
  • Start with: $200,000, 9 workers, 5,000 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots, 1 Duplex
  • Construct the Workshop. Do not buy the Lightning Efficiency yet.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Construct 1 Apartment, paint it, and sell it immediately.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials and construct one Nuclear Reactor.
  • Construct an Apartment. Paint it, but do not upgrade it until you have at least 4 Apartments collecting rent.
  • As soon as convenient, buy another 5,000 units and construct a 2nd nuclear reaction.
  • Keep constructing Apartments. Eventually you want every lot to have an Apartment except for the Workshop, the Recycling Center, and the 2 Nuclear Reactors.
  • Construct the Tech Center and supercharge the two Nuclear Reactors, then demolish the tech reactor.
  • Once you have 5 or 6 Apartments, you can start upgrading them as well. Eventually you want them all to have 3-Stars, but construct new houses first, as that’s the quickest way to raise the rent.
  • Keep your Apartments inspected so you minimize repairs.
  • Once you have all your Apartments built, you will need to buy back the two you don’t own. Put 5 of yours up for sale so you can low-ball the price.
  • Once you own all the Apartments, keep upgrading them all to 3-Stars, paint them, and inspect them.
  • As you get up to the last round of upgrades, buy about 15,000 in materials, then demolish the Recycling Center and construct a 3-Star Craftsman.
  • Finally you are ready to start selling Apartments. You need to keep 6 to make the rent requirement. If you wait until you have $11 million in cash from rents, you’ll be able to sell 5 or so, one at a time, and make the Goal.

Main Campaign, Level 44

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 3 supercharged Nuclear Reactors, 5 supercharged Solar Towers, 7 supercharged Wind Farms
  • Start with: $200,000, 9 workers, 5,000 materials, 5 technicians
  • Level Tip: This one is easier than it looks once you realize you can sell one Apartment at the beginning and one at the end, and you don’t have to buy them back to make the Goals.
  • Start by demolishing two small houses.
  • Construct a Workshop.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Construct an Apartment, paint it, upgrade it 3 times, and sell.
  • From on, buy any constructing under $300,000. Let it collect rent for a cycle or two, then demolish one at a time as needed to construct power generators.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Construct one Nuclear Reactor.
  • Construct an Apartment constructing, paint it, and inspect it.
  • Upgrade the Apartment constructing with 3-Stars.
  • Construct a 2nd Nuclear Reactor.
  • Construct the Tech Center.
  • Supercharge each of the first two Nuclear Reactors.
  • From now just buy technicians as needed in groups of 3, so you supercharge each generator as you go.
  • Each time you run out of places to construct, demolish a constructing. Try to demolish one that is near houses you haven’t bought yet, so when you construct you will drive down their prices.
  • Construct the 3rd Nuclear Reactor and supercharge it.
  • Now construct the 5 Solar Towers, one at a time, supercharging as you go.
  • Construct the first Wind Farm.
  • Around now you will run out of inexpensive houses to buy. Make sure you have enough materials on hand to construct the last Wind Farms, then demolish the Recycling Center and construct there.
  • Sell the Apartment. This should be enough to buy the last 2 houses you’ll need.
  • Keep constructing Wind Farms.
  • When you have 6 built, demolish the Workshop and construct the 7th there. You will be able to leave 2 Apartment houses standing at the end.

Main Campaign, Level 45

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 15 houses, 2 Fancy shops, +300 appeal, 2 recreations
  • Start with: $200,000, 9 workers, 5,000 materials, 5 technicians
  • Level Tip: There is a trick to this level, because as the very last step you can demolish the nuclear reactor to make the Appeal Goal, and the level will count as complete even though it is about to go into a black-out.
  • Level Tip: You will need to use a lot of Energy Savers early in the level, so make sure you pay for Genius training.
  • Level Tip: Also, locations matter a lot! Put the Nuclear Reactor where it will only affect a shop.
  • Level Tip: Put the Recycling Center in between two houses and the Garden Center in between two houses. These are the two buildings you will replace with Amphitheaters to make the Appeal Goal.
  • Level Tip: Wait to demolish the Garden Center until you have landscaped all 15 houses, or you won’t make the Appeal Goal. This is the only level where the Workshop is not the last item demolished.
  • Level Tip: Once you have constructed 8 apartments total, construct A-Frames and just paint and landscape any other size houses you end up buying. You want to try to keep energy consumption low.
  • To start, construct a Workshop.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Buy the first two A-Frames that come up for sale while you are waiting for the Recycling Center to be done.
  • Construct the 2nd Apartment. (The 1st Apartment is already built at the start of the level.)
  • Paint the 2nd Apartment.
  • Add 1 Energy Saver to the 2nd Apartment.
  • Upgrade the 2nd Apartment once.
  • Sell the 2nd Apartment.
  • Construct the Recycling Center.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials. From now on, buy materials as needed in 5,000 units.
  • Try to anticipate; you should probably buy more materials when you get down around 1,000.
  • Construct a Nuclear Reactor on a corner spot, preferably with an empty lot or inexpensive house next to it. You want to eventually build a Bakery next to it.
  • Buy 5,000 units of materials.
  • Now as quickly as you can, construct 2 Apartments. These are the 3rd and 4th Apartments. They are going to generate cash for you right now.
  • From now on until 8 Apartments have been built, buy any property under $300,000, demolish it, and use the lot to build an Apartment.
  • Paint the 3rd Apartment and inspect it.
  • Path the 4th Apartment and inspect it.
  • Build a Tech Center. It doesn’t matter where you build it, since it will get torn down near the end of the level.
  • Buy the Genius training.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Construct the Garden Center. Use a lot between two houses, since this will eventually be an Amphitheater.
  • Train 3 more Technicians.
  • Now add 3 Energy Savers each to the 3rd and 4th Apartments.
  • Upgrade the 3rd Apartment 3 times.
  • Upgrade the 4th Apartment 3 times.
  • From now on, whenever you build an Apartment, paint it, add 2 Energy Savers to it, upgrade to 3 stars, add a 3rd Energy Saver, inspect it, and landscape it. You are going to be working on a lot of buildings at the same time, so try to work across in rows.
  • Train additional workers up to 27.
  • Train additional Technicians up to 21.
  • Construct the 5th Apartment.
  • Construct the 6th Apartment.
  • Construct the Business Center.
  • Build two Bakeries and make them Fancy.
  • Construct the 7th Apartment.
  • Construct the 8th Apartment.
  • Continue to add Energy Savers, 3-Star upgrades, landscaping, and inspections to all the Apartments you own until all are complete.
  • Demolish the Tech Center and build an A-Frame there.
  • Paint the A-Frame.
  • Inspect the A-Frame.
  • Landscape the A-Frame.
  • Since there are now 8 Apartments built and you own 6 of them, from now buy any house you can afford it, paint it, landscape it, and inspect it. It won’t need upgrades and it probably won’t need Energy Savers. That includes the last two Apartments you don’t own yet.
  • Buy a total of 15,000 in materials.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center and replace it with an Amphitheater.
  • Demolish the Business Center and replace with a painted, landscaped, inspected A-Frame.
  • From now on whenever a shop has a Help Wanted sign, just assign a worker there.
  • Now you should be getting close to the end. When you have painted, landscaped, inspected houses on all lots except the Workshop, Garden Center, and Nuclear Reactor, demolish the Workshop and replace it with a painted, landscaped A-Frame.
  • Demolish the Garden Center and replace it with the 2nd Amphitheater.
  • Demolish the Nuclear Reactor. You will get credit for meeting all the Goals even though the town is about to have a black-out.

Challenge Campaign, Level 1

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 3 pink Craftsmans, 2 supercharged Hydro Turbines, 7 empty lots
    • Mid-level Goal: 4 Triple Energy Saver A-Frames
    • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 2,000 materials, 4 technicians, 4 empty lots
    • Level Tip: The key to this level is Cinemas, because they will earn money for you without you have to sell them, and then you can demolish them at the very end when you need empty lots.
    • Start by training 2 workers.
    • Leave the lot next to the smaller hydro turbine lot open for a Solar Tower, so you can drive down the price before you buy it.
    • Build a Georgian and sell it.
    • Build the Recycling Center.
    • Train 2 more workers.
    • With the money from the Georgian, buy 10,000 in materials.
    • Build 2 Solar Towers. Put 1 of them next to the smaller hydro turbine lot, the other can go anywhere.
    • Build a Cinema.
    • From now on, by any A-Frame and any Duplex that come for sale and demolish them.
    • Build the Tech Center. If you don’t have enough power, demolish the Recycling Center, you can get it back later for just 600 materials.
    • Supercharge the 2 Solar Towers.
    • Train 3 more Technicians.
    • Build a 2nd Cinema.
    • Now you’re starting to earn some money. Buy the smaller hydro turbine lot as soon as you can afford it.
    • Build a 3rd Cinema.
    • Keep $250,000 to buy the Hydro Turbine lot if you haven’t already.
    • From now on, buy any building under $400,000, as long as you save enough to buy the smaller Hydro Turbine lot as soon as it’s available.
    • If you buy a Craftsman, just paint it.
    • If you buy anything else, demolish it.
    • Build the Workshop. If there isn’t enough power, demolish the Recycling Center.
    • Buy the Lightning Efficiency.
    • As soon as you buy the smaller Hydro Turbine lot, demolish it.
    • Build the 1st Hydro Turbine.
    • Supercharge the 1st Hydro Turbine.
    • Now build 2 more Cinemas for a total of 5.
    • If you had to tear down the Recycling Center, rebuild it.
    • Buy 15,000 in materials.
    • Demolish the Recycling Center.
    • Buy the Genius certificate from the Tech Center.
    • Train a total of 9 Technicians.
    • Demolish the two Solar Towers.
    • Build 4 A-Frames. If you need more lot go ahead and demolish 2 Cinemas, but it’s better to keep them a little longer.
    • Add 3 Energy Savers to each A-Frame.
    • Demolish the Tech Center.
    • Inspect each A-Frame.
    • Now save cash to buy the larger Hydro Turbine lot.
    • With any extra cash, buy other houses and demolish them.
    • As soon as you have the 2nd Hydro Turbine lot, demolish the house there.
    • Build the 2nd Hydro Turbine.
    • Supercharge the 2nd Hydro Turbine.
    • If you have time and materials you can upgrade each pink Craftsman to 3 stars, but you don’t need to.
    • Keep the Craftsmans and the A-Frames inspected so you don’t have to spend money on repairs.
    • We have provided a screenshot to show what the level looks like before you start demolishing the Cinemas.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • As you get to the end, just keep buying houses and demolishing them.
  • You will be able to leave 1 house standing in addition to the 3 Craftsmans and 4 A-Frames.
  • If you have enough extra time, you might want to build a 6th Cinema, as there is a special trophy for that. But it’s not necessary to get the Speedy award for the level.
  • Start demolishing the Cinemas.
  • Lastly, if necessary, demolish the Workshop. It will just depend how many of the other houses you were able to buy. Remember you can use the Goals tab to tell you how many empty lots you still need.

Challenge Campaign, Level 2

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 4 Fancy shops, 3 recreations, 8 landscaped houses
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 2,000 materials, 4 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Your goal here is 8 landscaped Triple Energy Saver A-Frames, 4 Fancy Cinemas, 3 Tennis Courts, and a Nuclear Reactor. The only trick is keeping enough power online while you do all the building and demolishing.
  • Level Tip: Use a standard Cash Sale First strategy.
  • Train two workers.
  • Build a Georgian and sell it immediately for full price.
  • Build the Recycling Center.
  • Once the Recycling Center is built, buy 10,000 materials.
  • Buy empty lots and A-Frames if they become available.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor.
  • Buy another 5,000 materials.
  • Build a Cinema (the first of 4).
  • During this stage, demolish any small houses you buy, including A-Frames; you need the spaces for Cinemas for awhile.
  • Build the Workshop.
  • Buy another 5,000 materials.
  • Buy Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Build the Tech Center, supercharge the Nuclear Reactor, and demolish the Tech Center again.
  • Buy any houses up to $200,000 and demolish them.
  • Keep training workers until you have around 20.
  • Build 3 more Cinemas as soon as you can.
  • Build the Business Center and make all 4 Cinemas Fancy, then immediately demolish the Business Center again. Power may go off briefly, but it will return when you demolish the Business Center.
  • Now that you have 4 Fancy Cinemas, your next task is to build 8 Double or Triple Energy Saver A-Frames and landscape them.
  • Just keep buying properties for sale, demolish them, and replace them with landscaped A-Frames.
  • The number of Energy Savers you will have to buy just depends on how many of the big houses you can get demolished quickly. Add Energy Savers whenever needed to prevent black-outs.
  • Inspect your A-Frames often to avoid having to make repairs.
  • Once you have 8 landscaped A-Frames, demolish the Garden Center. You can check the Goals tab to see how many more you need.
  • Now build 2 Tennis Courts. You should have one empty lot from demolishing the Garden Center.
  • You may need to wait to buy the last building to demolish it and put the 2nd Tennis Court on it.
  • Time for the last Tennis Court. Demolish the Workshop and build it there.

Challenge Campaign, Level 3

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 solar towers, 3 houses with +30 appeal, $10,000,000 cash
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 2,000 materials, 4 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level tip: The key to this level is placement. You want to be able to own 3 lots in a row so you can build a Georgian, Amphitheater, Georgian. Then you just need another other two in a row for an Apartment and another Amphitheater. Build lots of Apartments, first for rent and then to sell and you can make Speedy quite easily.
  • Level Tip: the most important placement is to own 3 lots in a row so you can put an Amphitheater in between 2 Georgians. So keep an eye out for these opportunities and buy when available.
  • Level Tip: Use a standard Cash Sale First strategy.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build a Georgian, preferably somewhere that doesn’t tie into either of your top appeal zones. Sell immediately for full price.
  • Build a Recycling Center. You can put this on one of your intended Amphitheater lots if you like; you will tear it down eventually.
  • Buy 10,000 units of materials.
  • Immediately build a Nuclear Reactor, ideally where it doesn’t influence any other houses.
  • Build a Cinema. This can also go on a future Amphitheater spot if desired.
  • Build a Solar Tower. If you can get two isolated spots next to each other, that’s perfect, but otherwise just keep them out of your intended Amphitheater areas.
  • Build an Apartment, paint it, and upgrade to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Buy 10,000 units of materials and demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Build a Workshop.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency Training.
  • From now on, buy inexpensive houses whenever convenient and demolish the houses.
  • Build the 2nd Solar Tower.
  • Once the 2nd Solar Tower is built, build a Tech Center, supercharge all 3 power generators (1 nuclear, 2 solar), train 3 more Technicians, and demolish the Tech Center. It’s ok if the power goes off during this time, it will come back on.
  • Now you are ready to concentrate on building Apartments in most locations, and Georgians on either end of your row of 3 lots.
  • Paint every Apartment and upgrade to 3 stars. Don’t sell any yet. You want to collect the rent for awhile.
  • Make sure you keep your houses inspected so you don’t have to pay repair fees.
  • If you need more materials you can temporarily rebuild the Recycling Center, buy another 10 or 15 thousand materials, and then demolish it again.
  • When you get your row of 3 lots, build a Georgian, empty lot, Georgian. Paint the Georgians and upgrade to 3 stars. It’s OK if there’s a temporary building in the middle for awhile, like the Recycling Center.
  • Once you have 4 3-Star Apartments earning rent, demolish the Cinema and build an Amphitheater there. 1 down, 1 to go!
  • Once you have 4 3-Star Apartments earning rent, you can start buying Georgians that are not in your row of 3, demolishing them, and replacing them with Apartments. This can be worth $1 million per lot.
  • When you get to where you have about 7 million dollars in cash, it’s time to start selling the houses you don’t need. Keep your row of 3 and the Apartments next to the 1st Amphitheater.
  • Sell the Apartments one at a time so you get a good price, but you don’t have to get the maximum. You should have at least 3 or 4 to sell, and meanwhile the one next to the 1st Amphitheater and your 2 3-Star Georgians in your row of 3 are still earning for you.

Challenge Campaign, Level 4

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 6 supercharged Wind Farms, +20 appeal, $30,000 rent
  • Mid-level Goal: 2 3-Star Duplexes
  • Start with: $150,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 4 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level tip: This level is easier if you buy a Nuclear Reactor at the beginning and then demolish it at the end after you have added Energy Savers to all your Apartments.
  • Level Tip: Try to build the Wind Farms in pairs in the areas with just two lots, and one set of 2 Wind Farms and the Workshop next to them.
  • Level Tip: Use a standard Cash Sale First strategy.
  • Train two workers.
  • Build a Georgian and sell it immediately.
  • Build a Recycling Center. Try to build it in a central location where it will have houses on two sides. If that’s not possible, at least one side.
  • Buy 10,000 units of materials.
  • Build a Wind Farm.
  • Build an Apartment, paint it, and upgrade to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Build a 2nd Wind Farm.
  • Build a workshop. You will keep it throughout the level, so try to find a place where it will only influence a house on one side and a Wind Farm on the other.
  • Buy the Lightning Efficiency Training.
  • Continue to buy materials 5,000 units at a time as needed.
  • Build a 2nd Apartment building, paint it, and upgrade to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Build Wind Farms 3 and 4.
  • Build a 3rd Apartment building, paint it, and upgrade to 3 stars when convenient. You are going to need 5 or 6 Apartments total to meet the rent requirement.
  • Build Wind Farms 5 and 6.
  • As soon as you have the 6th Wind Farm built, buy $10,000 in materials.
  • Built the Tech Center. The power may go out temporarily, that’s OK; it will come back on soon.
  • Buy the Genius training.
  • Supercharge all 6 Wind Farms and the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Train 6 more Technicians.
  • From now on keep the Technicians busy upgrading all your Apartments with 3 Energy Savers each.
  • As soon as most of your Apartments have 3 Energy Savers each, demolish the Tech Center and build a painted Duplex there.
  • Upgrade the Duplex to 3 stars whenever convenient, then inspect it.
  • Buy 15,000 more units of materials.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center and build the Garden Center there.
  • As quickly as you can, landscape all your houses, then demolish the Garden Center. It’s OK if you haven’t built them all yet.
  • Build an Amphitheater where you had the Garden Center.
  • Build a 2nd painted Duplex and upgrade with 3 stars.
  • Finally, demolish the Nuclear Reactor to complete the level.

Challenge Campaign, Level 5

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 8 houses, +15 appeal, 1 shop, $40,000 rent
  • Mid-level Goal: Make the shop Fancy
  • Start with: $150,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 4 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: This one is easy if you stay focused on what you need. You want to end with 5 3-Star Triple Energy Saver painted landscaped Apartments, 1 Fancy Cinema, 1 supercharged Nuclear Reactor, and 3 more houses of any kind. So you will build and demolish Buildings several times, but make every house count.
  • Level Tip: Start with a standard Cash Sale First strategy.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build a Georgian and sell it immediately. Put it someplace it can stay permanently and you can buy it back at the end to help make your house Goal.
  • Build the Recycling Center on a lot that will eventually be a house.
  • Buy 10,000 materials.
  • Build the Workshop on a lot that will eventually be a house.
  • Pay for Lightning Efficiency Training as soon as you can afford it.
  • Train 3 additional workers.
  • Build the Nuclear Reactor on its permanent lot, someplace away from any houses.
  • From now on buy materials as needed in lots of 5,000.
  • You will need every lot eventually, but don’t spend too much money until you have 3 Apartments collecting rent, so for now just by empty lots and houses under $100,000.
  • Build the Cinema on its permanent lot.
  • Build an Apartment and paint. Upgrade to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Build the 2nd Apartment and paint. Upgrade to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Build the Tech Center.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Pay for Genius training and train 6 or 9 more Technicians.
  • As quickly as you can, upgrade your Apartments to 3 Energy Savers each.
  • Keep your Apartments inspected to avoid repairs.
  • Build the 3rd Apartment and paint. Upgrade to 3 Energy Savers.
  • As soon as the 3rd Apartment has 3 Energy Savers, demolish the Tech Center.
  • Upgrade the 3rd Apartment to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Build the Business Center on the lot where the Tech Center was.
  • Make the Bakery Fancy, then immediately demolish the Business Center. You should be fine on power as long as you did your Energy Savers already.
  • Build the Garden Center and very quickly landscape as many houses as you own, then demolish the Garden Center again. This is just to help you reach the Appeal Goal.
  • You did two more painted 3-star Apartments to make the rent goal, so buy 15,000 materials, then demolish the Recycling Center and build them where the Business Center was and where the Recycling Center was.
  • Buy the Georgian when it comes available and paint it and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Now all you have to do is make the 8 house requirement. Buy and demolish houses and build painted A-Frames.
  • For the last house, demolish the Workshop and build another A-Frame there. You may not have to paint it, it just depends how many houses you got landscaped.

Challenge Campaign, Level 6

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 1 green Georgian, 1 Tennis Court, +50 Appeal, $15,000,000, 17 empty lots
  • Mid-level Goal: Make the shop Fancy
  • Start with: $150,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 4 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Use 3 supercharged Nuclear Reactors to get through the level. Build 8 Fancy Cinemas, a Recycling Center (on the Amphitheater lot), a Workshop, a Business Center (on the Tennis Court lot) and 3-Star Apartments on all the other lots. Just collect money until you have 15 million, then demolish everything and build an Amphitheater on one side of the Georgian and the Tennis Court on the other. Demolish the Nuclear Reactors last, and you will get credit for finishing the level even though you’re going into a black-out.
  • Level Tip: At the start, look for a location with 3 empty lots in a row. Build the Green Georgian on the center of these, and save the ones on each side for the Tennis Court and the Amphitheater.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build the Georgian, paint it green, and sell.
  • Build the Recycling Center to one side of the Georgian. This will eventually be torn down for an Amphitheater, but not until the very end of the level.
  • It will be tempting, but don’t buy any properties until you get the first Cinema built and you start having cash coming in.
  • Buy 10,000 materials.
  • Build a Workshop and pay for Lightning Efficiency.
  • From now on buy materials as needed 5,000 units at a time.
  • Train 2 more workers.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor.
  • Build a Cinema.
  • Build 2 more Nuclear Reactors.
  • Build a Tech Center and train 6 Technicians.
  • Supercharge all 3 Nuclear Reactors.
  • Build 3 more Cinemas.
  • Build a Business Center on the other side of the Georgian and make all 4 Cinemas Fancy.
  • Keep building Cinemas and making them Fancy until you have a total of 8. You will be making money very rapidly now.
  • Build your 1st Apartment, add 3 Energy Savers, paint it, and upgrade to 3 stars as convenient.
  • Now get to work and fill all remaining lots with painted 3-Star Apartments.
  • You will need to add Energy Savers to 3 of the Apartments, but the rest won’t need them.
  • When the Georgian becomes available for sale, buy it, upgrade it 3 times, add 3 Energy Savers, and inspect it.
  • Towards the end of the level, buy 10,000 more materials, then demolish the Recycling Center and build the Amphitheater there.
  • Just keep collecting money. Once you have $15 million, start demolishing everything.
  • Once the Business Center is demolished, build the Tennis Court there.
  • Demolish the Nuclear Reactors last. You will make the Appeal Goal once the last Nuclear Reactor is demolished.

Challenge Campaign, Level 7

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 3 supercharged power generators (any kind), +100 Appeal, 1 Tech Center, 9 houses
  • Start with: $200,000, 7 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Since you can supercharge any kind of power generator, you might as well just put 1 Nuclear Generator and 2 Wind Farms on 3 isolated lots. That will save you money on Energy Savers and you won’t have as big of an appeal deficit to overcome.
  • Level Tip: You don’t need all big houses on this level since there’s no cash Goal. So when you buy the two Craftsmans just paint them and keep them for yourself to add towards your house Goal.
  • Level Tip: Use your Buildings! The easiest way to get to Speedy on this level is to use the Recycling Center, Workshop, Tech Center, Business Center, and Garden Center. Just not all at the same time.
  • Level Tip: Site location is everything on this level. Put the 3 power generators and the Tech Center on isolated lots. You need to put two Amphitheaters where each will influence two houses, but you can use those for temporary buildings in the meantime. Find a row of 3 very early in the level where you can put Business Center, Fancy Cinema, Fancy Cinema, and then you’ll be able to replace those houses later.
  • Train two workers.
  • Build an Apartment, paint it, and sell.
  • Build the Recycling center. Ideally put it on a lot between two houses where you will put an Amphitheater later.
  • Buy any empty lots or buildings under $100,000 that come up for sale.
  • Buy the houses on the 4 isolated lots as soon as you can, even if they cost more. You need to put the power generators and the Tech Center there.
  • Buy 15,000 materials. From now on buy materials as needed, 5,000 at a time.
  • Build the Workshop and pay for Lightning Efficiency training. I thought I would tear it down before the end of the level to make the Appeal Goal, but it turned out I didn’t need to, so siting isn’t a big issue for this building.
  • Immediately build a Nuclear Reactor on one of the isolated lots.
  • Build a Cinema so you have some income coming in.
  • Build the two Wind Farms as soon as you have the lots available.
  • Build a Tech Center on its permanent location as soon as it becomes available.
  • Train 3 additional Technicians.
  • Supercharge all the Nuclear Reactor and the two Wind Farms.
  • Build a second Cinema and the Business Center. I built mine all in a row and replaced the 2 Cinemas and the Business Center with houses late in the level.
  • Make the two Cinemas Fancy.
  • Throughout the level, add workers as convenient until you have a total of 21 or 22.
  • Buy the Craftsmans and the Georgian as they become available, paint them, upgrade them to 3 stars, and inspect them. Just keep these; they’ll help with your house Goal.
  • Build a row of 3 of painted Apartment, empty lot, painted Apartment. Upgrade the Apartments to 3 stars when convenient.
  • Buy 15,000 materials, then demolish the Recycling Center whenever you need the space.
  • Once you own 8 houses, build the Garden Center on the empty lot you’ve been saving for an eventual Amphitheater, quickly landscape all 8 houses, and then demolish the Garden Center.
  • Demolish the Business Center and the two Cinemas and replace with three houses. At this point in the level, these houses can be any size.
  • Build two Amphitheaters that each influence two houses.

Challenge Campaign, Level 8

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Wind Farms, 1 Grocery, 16 houses, rent $500,000
  • Start with: $200,000, 7 workers, 3,500 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots
  • Level Tip: You need to own 10 Apartments to make the rent Goal. And if you own 11, you can just build A-Frames for the remaining 5, which makes things much easier at the end of the level. Apartments are energy neutral once they have 3 Energy Savers, but those take time to add even with Genius training.
  • Level Tip: Build 2 Nuclear Reactors at the beginning to make sure you have continuous power until all the Energy Savers are applied. Then at the very end of the level, demolish the two reactors and replace them with two A-Frames to count towards the houses Goal.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build an Apartment and sell it immediately.
  • Build the Recycling Center.
  • Buy 15,000 materials.
  • Build the Workshop and buy Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Build 2 Nuclear Reactors.
  • Build the Grocery on its permanent site.
  • Build the Tech Center and pay for Genius training as soon as it’s convenient. You may have to wait until you have some Apartments earning rent to pay for it.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactors.
  • Now build 10 painted 3-Star Apartments as quickly as you can and add 3 Energy Savers to each.
  • Once you have 8 3-Star Apartments built, when the original Apartment you built comes up for sale, buy it and install 3 Energy Savers. This will be your 11th, and its rent allows you to just build A-Frames for the remaining 5 houses.
  • Build 2 Wind Farms and supercharge them whenever convenient.
  • You will eventually need to demolish the Tech Center, Recycling Center, and Workshop to build 3 A-Frames. They don’t need Energy Savers. Demolish the Workshop at the very last so you retain Lightning Efficiency for the earlier builds.
  • Once you have 10 Apartments with 3 Energy Savers each, demolish the 2 Nuclear Reactors and build 2 A-Frames there.

Challenge Campaign, Level 9

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 6 painted houses, 1 Public Pool, Appeal +85
  • Mid-Level Goal: 1 Fancy shop
  • Start with: $200,000, 7 workers, 3,000 materials, 5 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: The challenge on this level is that there are only 9 lots total. Once you’ve used 6 for the houses, 1 for the shop, and 1 for the pool, that only leaves 1 for a power generator. That makes things tricky. The easiest way to make Speedy is with our old trick of using a Nuclear Generator and then demolishing it at the last minute to make the Appeals Goal and win the level before the black-out occurs.
  • Level Tip: Since you’ll have a Fancy shop earning income, you’ll only need two 3-Star Apartments. The other 3 houses can be the Duplex and two A-Frames which are quicker and cheaper to build. At the end, you’ll buy back the 3rd Apartment, which you used for cash initially.
  • Level Tip: Decide which lot you’ll use for your temporary buildings. This will be the Tech Center, then the Business Center, then the Garden Center, and finally an A-Frame house.
  • Level Tip: Save one lot in between two houses for a Pool, but you can use it to put the Recycling Center on temporarily.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build an Apartment, paint it, and sell it immediately.
  • Buy just enough materials to build the Recycling Center.
  • From now on, buy every property that becomes available, you need all of them.
  • Build the Recycling Center on a lot between two houses. You’ll eventually use this lot for the pool.
  • Build the Workshop and purchase Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Buy 10,000 materials. From now on, buy materials in 5,000 unit lots as needed.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor.
  • When you buy the Duplex, just paint it, upgrade it 3 times, and inspect it.
  • Build a Cinema.
  • Build the Tech Center.
  • Train 3 Technicians.
  • Train workers throughout the level as convenient until you have 16.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Demolish the Tech Center and build the Business Center there.
  • Make the Cinema Fancy.
  • Demolish the Business Center.
  • Build a painted 3-Star Apartment.
  • Build another painted 3-Star Apartment.
  • Build the Garden Center.
  • Landscape all the houses you own. This will probably be 4.
  • Demolish the Garden Center.
  • Build a painted A-Frame where the Garden Center was.
  • As soon as you can afford it, buy the original Apartment. Inspect it.
  • Now you have 5 painted houses. Make sure they’re all inspected.
  • Buy enough materials to build the Public Pool.
  • Demolish the Recycling Center and build the Public Pool there.
  • Demolish the Workshop and build another A-Frame there.
  • Paint the last A-Frame.
  • Now you’ve met all the goals except Appeal. Demolish the Nuclear Reactor and you’re done.

Challenge Campaign, Level 10

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 8 painted Duplexes, 3 recreations, $15,000,000
    • Mid-Level Goal: 3 Fancy shops
    • Start with: $200,000, 7 workers, 3,000 materials, 5 technicians, 5 empty lots and 1 Craftsman
    • Level Tip: Fancy Cinemas! They’ll earn a lot of money quickly. Build the Duplexes towards the end of the level, as they’re quick to build and they only need to be painted, not upgraded.
    • Level Tip: You can build any kind of recreations and there’s no Appeal Goal, so just build 3 Tennis Courts.
    • Level Tip: With the Mid-Level Goal and 2 Nuclear Reactors, you will need every lot available for 8 Duplexes, 3 Cinemas, and 3 Tennis Courts, so plan accordingly.
    • Level Tip: To earn the very large amount of money needed for this level, you’ll need the income from at 8 7 3-Star Apartments. Then at the end you will demolish those to make space for the Duplexes. You will demolish the Business Center, Recycling Center, and Workshop to make space for the 3 Tennis Courts.
    • Train 2 workers.
    • Build an Apartment and sell.
    • Buy 100 materials.
    • Build the Recycling Center.
    • Buy 15,000 materials. From now on buy materials 5,000 at a time as needed.
    • Buy any houses under $175,000 that become available and demolish them. Eventually you will need to buy all the lots.
    • Build the Workshop and purchase Lightning Efficiency training.
    • Build 2 Nuclear Reactors.
    • Build 3 Cinemas.
    • Build the Tech Center.
    • Supercharge the 2 Nuclear Reactors.
    • As soon as convenient, train up to 15 or 16 Technicians, then demolish the Tech Center.
    • Build the Business Center and make all 3 Cinemas Fancy.
    • Now as quickly as possible, build 7 painted 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Apartments.
    • You will need to have at least 2 Energy Savers on the previous Apartment before beginning construction on the next to keep out of a black-out.
    • When convenient, buy back the original Apartment and upgrade to 3 Stars.
    • Throughout the level, continue to train workers until you have 30 or so.
    • Now you have 2 Nuclear Reactors, 3 Fancy Cinemas, the Business Center, the Recycling Center, the Workshop, and 8 3-Star Apartments.
    • Keep everything inspected.
    • We have provided a screenshot to show this stage of the level.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Just be patient, and let the rent come in. You can continue to train workers if you’re not up to 30 yet.
    • Once you reach 17 million dollars, purchase 15,000 units of materials and demolish the Recycling Center.
    • Build a painted Duplex on that lot.
    • Demolish the Business Center and build a 2nd painted Duplex on that lot.
    • Once you reach 18 million dollars, start demolishing Apartments. Replace 6 of them with painted Duplexes. Replace the last 2 with Tennis Courts.
    • Demolish the Workshop and replace it with Tennis Court.
    • This completes The Challenge campaign.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source

Expert Campaign, Level 1

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 6 painted Condos, 3 Triple Energy Saver Duplexes, 1 Fancy Cinema, +150 Appeal
  • Mid-Level Goal: No Empty Lots
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,000 materials, 3 technicians, 4 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Once you decide to just go ahead and maintain one supercharged Nuclear Reactor to handle energy requirements; this level becomes fairly simple because you don’t have to waste any time or money putting energy savers on the Condos.
  • Level Tip: Siting choice is critical here. You must put the Nuclear Reactor and the Workshop on isolated lots where they cannot negatively impact houses, because you’re going to keep them for the entire level.
  • Level Tip: Place the Tech Center in between two houses so you can demolish it and replace it with an Amphitheater towards the very end of the level.
  • Level Tip: It doesn’t matter where you put the Recycling Center, because eventually it will be demolished and replaced with a Duplex.
  • Level Tip: Place the Business Center on a site in between two houses. You will replace it first with the Garden Center and then with the 2nd Amphitheater.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build 1 Georgian and sell it immediately. You don’t need to paint it, because you’re going to demolish it later anyway.
  • Buy just the materials you need to build a Recycling Center. Put it on any lot where you eventually want to have a Duplex.
  • Buy 10,000 materials.
  • Build the Workshop on an isolated lot.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor on an isolated lot.
  • Build the Cinema anywhere it doesn’t interfere with a house-amphitheater-house plan. Now you will start collecting money from the Cinema.
  • Be patient, there may not be any great locations available yet. You don’t have a lot of money to stat with, so choose what you buy carefully.
  • If you get a lot where you want to have a house, build a condo, paint it, and eventually upgrade it to 3 stars. It won’t need Energy Savers.
  • If you get a lot where you eventually want to have an Amphitheater, build the Tech Center. It’s going to stay here almost until the end of the level.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • When you get a 2nd lot where you eventually want to have an Amphitheater, build the Business Center, make the Cinema Fancy, and demolish the Business Center again.
  • Throughout the level, train additional workers when needed up to 21.
  • You’re still not making a lot of money, so don’t bother training Technicians yet.
  • Now work on getting 6 painted 3-Star Condos. Buy and demolish anything up to $150,000 to build a Condo. If you buy a Condo, paint it and upgrade it. Keep all the Condos inspected.
  • Remember to leave one future-Amphitheater lot empty where the Business Center used to be.
  • Once you have 4 Condos earning rent, you can afford to train technicians, so train up to 12. Also buy the Genius training.
  • Buy 15,000 materials and demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Build a Duplex where the Recycling Center used to be, paint it, and add 3 Energy Savers. Inspect when you’re finished.
  • Once you have 6 Condos, build the Garden Center on the empty lot where the Business Center used to be and quickly landscape all your Condos and any Duplexes you have built.
  • Build the other two Triple Energy Saver Duplexes anywhere you can get another lot.
  • Landscape one more Duplex, then demolish the Garden Center. It’s OK if you leave one Duplex unlandscaped.
  • Build an Amphitheater where the Garden Center used to be.
  • Once the 3 Duplexes each have 3 Energy Savers, demolish the Tech Center and build an Amphitheater on that lot.

Expert Campaign, Level 2

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Solar Towers, 6 landscaped Craftsmans, 4 painted Georgians
  • Mid-Level Goal: +180 Appeal, 1 Fancy Boutique
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, 3 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Build the more expensive houses first so you can benefit from the rent.
  • Isolate the Solar Towers so they don’t create a negative impact on houses.
  • Level Tip: You will need to demolish the Garden Center last and replace it with a Mini-Golf, so make sure it is sited between two houses.
  • Level Tip: Save one other lot between two houses for a future Amphitheater. You can use it for the Recycling Center initially.
  • Train two workers.
  • Build a Georgian, paint it, and sell it. You will buy it back later to be your 4th Georgian.
  • Buy enough materials to build the Recycling Center.
  • Build the Recycling Center on a lot which will eventually have a house on each side so you can put a future Amphitheater there.
  • Buy 5,000 materials.
  • Build a Workshop anywhere. It will eventually be demolished and replaced with a Craftsman.
  • Buy Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Buy 5,000 materials.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor. You can put it anywhere. It will eventually be demolished and replaced with a Craftsman.
  • Build a Boutique.
  • From now on, buy materials in 5,000 unit lots when convenient.
  • Build a Georgian, paint it, and upgrade it to 3 stars.
  • Build 2 Solar Towers next to each other and isolated from any houses.
  • Build the Tech Center.
  • Supercharge all 3 power generators.
  • Add Technicians as convenient until you have 12. You probably won’t need the Genius training.
  • Demolish the Tech Center.
  • Build the Business Center, make the Boutique Fancy, and demolish the Business Center.
  • Now as quickly as possible build 2 3-Star painted Georgians. Just remember to leave an empty center lot between any two houses.
  • Upgrade your other Georgian to 3-Stars.
  • From now on, add workers when needed until you have 18.
  • As convenient, add 2 Energy Savers to all houses.
  • Keep your buildings inspected to avoid repairs.
  • Build the Garden Center on a lot that will eventually be a Mini-golf. It should be in between two houses.
  • With the 3 Georgians built, it’s time to start building Craftsmans. You don’t really have to worry about siting, because the Recycling Center is holding the space for the Amphitheater and the Garden Center is holding the place for the Mini-Golf.
  • Whenever convenient, buy back the 4th Georgian.
  • Landscape all your buildings.
  • Paint the Craftsmans, and add 2 or 3 Energy Savers each. You should have 4 Craftsmans at this point.
  • Buy 15,000 materials and then demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Time to demolish the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Build a 5th Craftsman on the lot where the Nuclear Reactor was, paint, landscape, and add 2 Energy Savers.
  • Build an Amphitheater on the lot where the Recycling Center was.
  • Demolish the Workshop.
  • Build the 6th Craftsman on the lot where the Workshop was, landscape, paint, and add 2 Energy Savers.
  • As soon as all 6 Craftsmans are landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and build a Mini-Golf on that spot.

Expert Campaign, Level 3

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Wind Farms, 4 public pools, 4 3-Star Apartments, 1 Fancy Bakery
  • Mid-Level Goal: 4 blue Apartments
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, 3 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: Do not buy lots or houses before you absolutely need them on this level. Cash is very tight until you have your 3rd Apartment collecting rent.
  • Train 2 workers.
  • Build a Georgian and sell it immediately.
  • Buy 500 materials.
  • Build a Recycling Center.
  • Buy 15,000 materials. Keep 1,000 in stock at all times for generator repairs.
  • Build a Workshop. Train 2 workers.
  • Buy Lightning Efficiency training as soon as you can.
  • Build a Nuclear Facility.
  • Remember, no matter how tempting, do not buy any property you don’t absolutely need until you have 2 Apartments earning rent or you will run out of cash.
  • Build an Apartment, paint it blue, upgrade it once, and inspect it.
  • Build the 2nd Apartment, paint it blue, upgrade it once, and inspect it.
  • From now on, buy more materials as needed. Try to buy in 5,000 unit lots, but you may need to buy in 2,500. Remember to keep the reserve to repair the generator.
  • Build the Tech Center.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Train 3 additional Technicians when convenient.
  • Buy Genius training.
  • Train 6 additional Technicians when convenient, but buy the Genius training first.
  • From now on, keep the Technicians busy. Each Apartment must have 3 Energy Savers or you can’t win the level.
  • Build a 3rd Apartment, upgrade once, paint it blue and inspect it.
  • Now start upgrading all 3 Apartments to 3 stars and 3 Energy Savers each.
  • Build 2 Wind Farms and supercharge them.
  • Train additional workers as convenient until you have 15.
  • Build the 4th Apartment once all previous Apartments have at least 2 Energy Savers each.
  • Build the Bakery.
  • Buy 15,000 materials and demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Build the Business Center where the Recycling Center used to be, make the Bakery Fancy, and demolish the Business Center.
  • Now all that’s left are the pools.
  • Build 1 pool where the Bakery was.
  • As soon as all 4 Apartments have 3 Energy Savers each and all 3 power generators are supercharged, you can demolish the Tech Center and build a pool there.
  • Do not demolish the Nuclear Reactor until all 4 Apartments have 3 Energy Savers each and you have built, used, and demolished the Business Center. Then demolish it and build a pool.
  • Demolish the Workshop last, but leave enough time to build the 4th pool there since you will no longer have Lighting Efficiency workers.

Expert Campaign, Level 4

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 11 Georgians, 8 Craftsmans, +200 Appeal
  • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, 3 technicians, 6 empty lots
  • Level Tip: This is a very straightforward level provided you have the Workshop with Lightning Efficiency training and the Tech Center with Genius certificate.
  • Level Tip: Build a supercharged Nuclear Reactor and demolish it at the very end to make the Appeal Goal and win the level before the town goes into black-out.
  • Level Tip: The Nuclear Reactor must be sited on any corner, and the lot next to must be used for an Amphitheater before you demolish the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Level Tip: you will end up with houses on every lot except the Nuclear Reactor and the one that will become an Amphitheater.
  • You are short of everything on this level: cash, workers, lots, materials. So don’t do anything extra! Don’t even buy an extra empty lot or add an extra upgrade star or you won’t make Speedy.
  • Level Tip: you only need to paint the first 3 Craftsmans you build. Skip painting the others or you will use too much time.
  • Level Tip: you will build two 3-star Georgians at the beginning of the level, but after that put only one upgrade star on each Georgian and no upgrades on the Craftsmans or you will use too much time.
  • Level Tip: You must have at least two Energy Savers on each Georgian after the first three before you construct the next Georgian or you’ll trigger a black-out, lose rent, and won’t make Speedy.
  • Sell each of the three A-Frames you own, one at a time, as quickly as you can, for full price. You will need this cash to buy Lightning Efficiency for your workers and the first two empty lots.
  • As you are selling the A-Frames, build a Condo. Don’t paint it oar anything else. Sell it as soon as all 3 of you’re a-Frames have sold.
  • As soon as the Condo has finished building, start building a Recycling Center. You will have enough materials as long as you didn’t paint the Condo, and seconds count on this level.
  • As soon as the Recycling Center has finished building, buy 2 sets of 5,000 materials and 1 set of 2,500. Don’t wait until you think you need these; you need them.
  • Don’t buy any other properties yet unless you don’t own a corner lot. In that case, you may buy the first empty corner lot that comes available, but only that 1 lot.
  • Build the workshop.
  • Purchase Lightning Efficiency Training.
  • Train 6 more workers. (This is why you can’t have bought any properties yet.)
  • Build the Nuclear Reactor on a corner lot.
  • Immediately build 2 Georgians, paint them, and upgrade each to 3 stars. These are the only 3 Star Georgians you will have, every other Georgian will get just 1 upgrade star.
  • You will have to repair the Nuclear Generator soon, but that’s OK;you’ll have enough materials.
  • The next 3 times you buy materials it will probably have to be in 2,500 unit lots instead of 5,000. That’s OK because money is still tight, but don’t buy smaller lots than that, and don’t spend time waiting to earn enough to buy 5,000.
  • Add 2 Energy Savers to each of the Georgians.
  • At this point you can start buying property, but no more than 2 at a time.
  • Build a Tech Center.
  • Supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Buy materials and build a 3rd Georgian, paint it, upgrade to 1 star, and add 3 Energy Savers.
  • Buy the Genius training.
  • Train Technicians as convenient throughout the level until you have 12.
  • Train Workers as convenient throughout the level until you have 15.
  • Keep building painted 1-Star Georgians and add 3 Energy Savers to each until you have 10. But don’t start a new Georgian until all previous Georgians have at least 2 Energy Savers or you’ll get a black-out.
  • If you hear the black-out siren, quickly add Energy Savers to 3 different Georgians, which should turn the power back on.
  • Keep the Georgians inspected to avoid repairs.
  • Once you have at least 5 Georgians collecting rent, build the Garden Center and start landscaping everything.
  • Once you have 5 Georgians collecting rent, you should have enough cash to buy any properties that become available. You only have to be careful in the beginning of the level.
  • Once you have 10 Georgians, start on the Craftsmans. Just build them as quickly as you can. Just remember you still need to build the 11th Georgian also.
  • Paint the first 3 Craftsman, but you don’t need to paint the last 3.
  • Landscape the first 4 Craftsmans, but you don’t need to landscape the last 2.
  • You can inspect before or after landscaping, but inspect everything to avoid repairs.
  • Once all Georgians have 3 Energy Savers each and you have trained 12 Technicians, demolish the Tech Center and build a Craftsman there.
  • Buy 15,000 materials, demolish the Recycling Center.
  • Build the Amphitheater next to the Nuclear Reactor. It must be on that spot and no other, because if there is a house next to the Nuclear Reactor, the level won’t count for you before the black-out hits.
  • Once all 11 Georgians and 4 Craftsmans have been landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and build a Craftsman there.
  • Demolish the Workshop and build a Craftsman there. It doesn’t have to be painted or landscaped.
  • Once you’ve met all goals except the Appeal Goal, demolish the Nuclear Reactor. Just make sure there is no worker activity like painting or constructing still going on or you’ll go into black-out before winning the level.

Expert Campaign, Level 5

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 1 Hydro Turbine, 1 Fancy Grocery Store, $10,000,000
    • Mid-Level Goal: 12 painted A-Frames
    • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, 3 technicians, 6 empty lots
    • Build 2 Nuclear Reactors and a bunch of 3-Star Apartments.
    • Picture of when to start selling ($6 million)
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Sell 4 Apartments, low ball and buy them back.
  • Demolish all the Apartments and replace them with painted Double Energy Saver A-Frames
  • Demolish the Nuclear Reactors

Expert Campaign, Level 6

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 10 painted Condos, 6 Tennis Courts, Appeal 240+, Rent $150,000
    • Mid-Level Goal, 1 Fancy Boutique
    • Start with: $100,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, 3 technicians, 4 empty lots
    • Level Tip: Build a Nuclear Reactor and a Solar Tower early in the game, with the Solar Tower on an isolated lot. Eventually supercharge both. Then at the end of the game when you don’t need the Nuclear Reactor anymore, demolish it and replace with a Tennis Court.
    • Level Tip: This was the first level in the entire game where we found that the exact configuration of the starting lots made the difference between Speedy or no. You must have an isolated lot where you can permanently site the Solar Tower, and you want to be able to build it early in the game, so if there is an expensive house on that lot, you’re probably sunk and you may just want to restart.
    • Similarly, you must have a set of two lots next to each other and isolated from anything else, one lot of which will be inexpensive to build on early in the game, since that’s where you’re going to build the permanent Workshop and eventually the Boutique. If you can’t start building the Workshop on this lot in a timely fashion, you can’t get Speedy.
    • You must be able to build a sequence of Condo-Tennis Court-Condo-Condo-Tennis Court-Condo on the long row. Since the game starts with one prebuilt Condo and you’d like to keep it, if it’s in one of the Tennis Court positions you’ll have to demolish it eventually, and that may cost you the Speedy time.
    • You must be able to put the Recycling Center on a lot that will eventually become a Tennis Court, and that lot must be available to you right at the beginning of the game.
    • So if you don’t think you’ll be able to build quickly on 1 isolated lot, 1 of a pair of two lots, and 2 future-tennis-court lots, you may want to just restart. You can still get Normal, but getting Speedy will be hard or impossible if all of these conditions aren’t met.
    • Assuming you have the right configuration though, everything is quite simple. You’ll build the two power generators early. Build or buy Condos in the correct positions, upgrade to 3 stars for income, and add 3 Energy Savers so you can eventually get rid of the Nuclear Reactor. Then long-term you build the Fancy Baker and the Tennis Courts. Oh, and you’ll need to pain and landscape all Condos.
    • You own a Condo already it. Immediately paint it, then sell it.
    • Train 2 workers.
    • Build an unpainted Georgian and sell it.
    • Build the Recycling Center on a lot that will eventually become a Tennis Court.
    • Buy 10,000 materials.
    • Build the Workshop on its permanent home, on one of a pair of lots that are isolated together from other houses.
    • Train 3 workers for a total of 9.
    • Build a Nuclear Reactor on a lot that will eventually become a Tennis Court.
    • Now build 2 painted 3-Star Condos wherever they belong.
    • Build the Solar Tower on its permanent home.
    • From now on, buy materials 2,500 or 5,000 at a time as convenient.
    • Build the Tech Center on a lot that will eventually become a Tennis Court.
    • Supercharge both the Nuclear Reactor and the Solar Tower.
    • Buy the Genius training as soon as it’s convenient.
    • Over the course of the level, train 9 or 12 Technicians as convenient.
    • Build 2 more painted 3-Star Condos.
    • Once you have at least 4 Condos bringing in rent, start adding 3 Energy Savers to all Condos.
    • Buy lots to build Condos before you buy lots to build Tennis Courts, unless you need the Tennis Court lot of a temporary building like the Garden Center.
    • Once you have all the Condos built with at least 2 Energy Savers each, you can build the Boutique.
    • Build the Business Center, make the Boutique Fancy, and demolish the Business Center.
    • If you haven’t previously gotten the award for having each of the 5 buildings at the same time, this should do it, as you have Workshop, Tech Center, Recycling Center, Garden Center, and Business Center at the same time.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Once all the Condos have 3 Energy Savers, demolish the Tech Center and the Nuclear Reactor and build Tennis Courts there.
  • Once all the Condos are Landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and build a Tennis Court there.

Expert Campaign, Level 7

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 2 Solar Towers, 9 Apartments, Appeal 100+, Rent $500,000
  • Start with: $200,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 technicians
  • Level Tip: Two supercharged Solar Towers will support 9 Apartments, but only after you have applied lots of Energy Savers. So go ahead and build a third supercharged Solar Tower at the start of the level, then demolish it and replace it with a Tennis Court near the end of the level.
  • Turn the Workshop an Amphitheatre that affects two houses, and you should easily make the Appeal goal. The two Solar Towers will cause a -40 Appeal effect, Having an Apartment next to a Solar Tower (there’s no way around this) causes another -20, 9 painted and 8 landscaped houses are +80, the Amphitheater between two houses gives you +75.
  • Level Tip: By not landscaping the last Apartment, you can keep the Workshop until almost the very end of the level, letting you taking advantage of Lightning Training on everything except the Amphitheater.
  • Level Tip: Making Speedy on this just requires doing things in exactly the right order to minimize processing time.
  • Level Tip: Build your two towers in an isolated row of three, where the third will be an Apartment but it will be the only one affected by the towers. However initially you’re going to build a third Solar Tower there so you have continuous power while you’re applying Energy Savers.
  • Train 4 workers. You’re starting with $200,000 here, so you can afford it.
  • As soon as they’re ready, build an Apartment and sell it. This means that towards the end you can just buy it back, you won’t have to demolish it to build something else. And of course you’re getting a lot of cash.
  • On this level, buy everything that becomes available and demolish everything except the one Apartment. Buy it whenever it’s convenient, usually after you have 5 or 6 other Apartments built.
  • The order in which you build the add-ons makes a huge difference in this level, and it changes. In the very beginning, when you only have two Apartments, do star upgrade, Energy saver, star upgrade, Energy saver.
  • Once you have the Tech Center and you’ve paid for Genius training, and you’re working on Apartments # 3-7, apply Energy Savers first so you can get started on constructing the next Apartment as soon as possible without going into blackout. Once all 3 Energy Savers are applied, add star upgrades. Paint last. Apartment #6 is on the lot where the Recycling Center was initially. Apartment #7 is on the lot where the third Solar Tower was initially. But the rules are the same for these;apply Energy savers first.
  • Before you can build Apartment #8, you have to tear down the Tech Center, and you want to tear down the Garden Center as soon as Apartment #8 is landscaped. So for #8, landscape first, then add the 3 stars and paint, then come back and add the three Energy Saver. The reason is, and this is very important, you don’t care if you go into a black-out during the last few Apartment builds as long as you get the power back on to win the level.
  • You can tear down the Garden Center as soon as Apartment #8 is landscaped, and start Apartment #9 there. Now you want to tear down the Workshop. For Apartments 8 and 9, you want to paint and add 3 stars before you add the 3 Energy Savers. That’s because the Lightning Efficiency the Workshop provides will make building the stars faster, but it doesn’t change the speed at which you add Energy Savers.
  • It may take you a couple of tries to get this right since the changes are a little odd, but if you think about what building you want to tear down next, it will help. At the point where the next building to tear down is the Tech Center, you want to add Energy Savers before Workshop work. At the point where the next building to tear down is the Garden Center, you obviously need to get landscaping done before Workshop work. But once the Tech Center is already gone and the next building to be torn down is the Workshop, you want to shift and do all the painting and stars before adding Energy Savers.
  • Train 4 workers.
  • Build an Apartment and sell it. Don’t paint it first.
  • Once you’ve sold the Apartment, you have lots of cash, so throughout the level buy any properties that become available and demolish anything except the Apartment.
  • Build the Recycling Center.
  • Buy 10,000 materials.
  • Build the Workshop on the one lot that will eventually be an Amphitheater, so site it between two potential houses.
  • Once the Workshop is complete, pay for Lightning Efficiency training.
  • Train 3 more workers.
  • From now on, buy materials as needed, 5,000 units at a time.
  • Build 2 Solar Towers on a row of 3 lots. Keep the 3rd lot for another Solar Tower which will eventually become an Apartment. Make sure the first two towers can only influence 1 Apartment, the one which will be right next to the 2nd Tower.
  • Build an Apartment.
  • Build the Tech Center and supercharge the two Towers.
  • Build the 2nd Apartment.
  • Improve the first two Apartments in this sequence: first a star each, then an Energy Saver each, then a star each, then an Energy Saver each, then a star each, then an Energy Saver each.
  • Build a 3rd Solar Tower next to the first two and supercharge it.
  • Pay for Genius training.
  • Throughout the level, train up to 12 Technicians as convenient.
  • Throughout the level, train up to 18 Workers as convenient.
  • Build the 3rd and 4th Apartments, add two Energy Savers each, paint and upgrade to 3 stars each, add a third Energy Saver each and inspect.
  • Keep all your Apartments inspected regularly to avoid repairs.
  • Build the Garden Center. From now on, landscape all Apartments until 8 are landscaped. The 9th one will be built on the lot where the Garden Center is.
  • The 5th Apartment is the one you can buy, but if you haven’t been able to buy it yet, don’t worry. Just go on to the next step and get it when you can. If you have bought it, add 3 Energy savers, then landscape, then paint and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Buy 20,000 materials and demolish the Recycling Center. If you have trouble making Speedy on this level, you may want to buy these materials earlier on, just have 20,000 in stock when you demolish the building.
  • Build the 6th Apartment on the site where the Recycling Center was. Add 3 Energy savers, then landscape, then paint and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Demolish the 3rd Solar Tower and build the 7th Apartment there. Add 3 Energy savers, then landscape, then paint and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Again, if you’ve just recently bought the one Apartment you didn’t own, add 3 Energy savers, then landscape, then paint and upgrade to 3 stars.
  • Time to demolish the Tech Center. First make sure any Apartment you own has 3 Energy Savers. Then demolish the Tech Center, build an Apartment, landscape, paint and upgrade to 3 stars, then add 3 Energy Savers.
  • Very important: note that once the Tech Center is demolished, the improvement sequence changes so that you landscape, then paint and upgrade, then add Energy Savers. You may go into a black-out, but that’s OK, you can work in the dark.
  • Now you must own and landscape 8 Apartments before you tear down the Garden Center, or you can’t make the Appeal goal. Just keep working, but buy that last unowned Apartment as soon as possible and get it landscaped. You can put a bunch of your Apartments up for sale and low-ball it if necessary, but you should have the cash on hand.
  • As soon as you have 8 landscaped Apartments, demolish the Garden Center and build your 9th Apartment there. Paint and upgrade any remaining Apartments, then add 3 Energy Savers.
  • Very important: you want to have 9 Apartments upgraded to 3 stars before you demolish the Workshop. It’s really hard to make Speedy otherwise. You may be able to get by with having one still left to paint, just watch the time. It’s OK if you still have Energy Savers left to add, the Workshop does not affect the speed of those improvements.
  • Check to make sure all finished buildings are inspected, then demolish the Workshop and build an Amphitheater there.
  • Now to finish the level you just have to finish add Energy Savers until the lights come back on. As soon as they come back on, stop working, and you will win the level.

Expert Campaign, Level 8

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Goals: 3 supercharged Wind Farms, $30 million
    • Mid-level Goal: 1 Fancy Grocery Store
    • Start with: $200,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 technicians, 1 A-Frame, 1 Duplex, 1 Craftsman, 1 Condo, 1 empty lot
    • Level Tip: The trick to this one is to use Amphitheaters to increase the amount you will get for selling 6 of your Apartments. Fortunately there’s no rent requirement, so this is doable.
    • Level Tip: Although you start with 4 different kinds of smaller houses, they are no affect on your goals;just treat them as empty lots. In fact, demolish them so they don’t use energy.
    • Level Tip: The Goals only call for 3 supercharged Wind Farms, but build two additional Nuclear Reactors to begin with so you don’t have black-outs before you get the Energy Savers up.
    • Level Tip: In fact, we’re going to build the two Nuclear Reactors twice! Once on lots where they’ll be replaced by Wind Farms, and then again on lots where they’ll be replaced by Amphitheaters. It’s all to get us through the level with no black-outs so we can earn lots of money.
    • Level Tip: There’s another important step;in the beginning, we’re going to build 3 Fancy Cinemas on lots that will eventually become Amphitheaters. These are quick to build, and each one will generate about $3 million in cash before the end of the level.
    • Level Tip: Ultimately you want to have 9 3-Star Triple Energy Saver Apartments, 3 supercharged Wind Farms, 6 Amphitheaters and the Fancy Grocery.
    • Level Tip: So stage 1: Build the Recycling Center, the Workshop, 2 Nuclear generators, 3 Fancy Cinemas
    • Level Tip: Stage 2: Build the Tech Center Super charge the Nuclear Reactors, add a super charged Wind Farm on its permanent lot, and start building 9 3-Star Apartments You don’t have to add Energy Savers initially because of the Nuclear Reactors, so just upgrade them to 3 Stars as quickly as possible to get more rent.
    • Level Tip: Stage 3 Build a Garden Center and landscape all 9 Apartments while all adding 3 Energy Savers to Each.
    • Level Tip: Stage 4: Move the Nuclear Reactors to 2 lots which will be future Amphitheaters, demolish the old Nuclear Reactors, build the 2nd and 3rd Wind Farms there and super charge them.
    • Level Tip: Stage 5: Once all 9 Apartments have 3 Energy Savers each, demolish the Tech Center and replace it with a Grocery. Demolish a Cinemas, build the Business Center there, make the Grocery Fancy, demolish the Business Center and replace it with an Amphitheater.
    • Level Tip: Stage 6: Demolish the remaining Cinemas and the Nuclear Reactors and replace them with Amphitheaters. Start selling Apartments.
    • Level Tip: Stage 7: once all the Amphitheaters are built, demolish the Workshop and build one more Amphitheater there.
    • Level Tip: Stage 8: Sell the Apartments 2 at a time. You’ll get a good price on the first one and top price on the second and should make Speedy.
    • Level Tip: Siting: Build the Workshop and Recycling Center on lots between two houses that will eventually become Amphitheaters.
    • Level Tip: Siting: Build the Tech Center on one end or the other of the long row of 7 lots. It will eventually become the Grocery Store. Then build Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment.
    • Level Tip: Siting: Save a row of 3 for power generators. Initially this will be 2 Nuclear Reactors and a Wind Farm, but eventually it will be 3 Wind Farms.
    • Level Tip: Siting: Level Tip: Siting: Build a row of Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment.
    • Level Tip: Siting: For the other long row, build a row of Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment-nonApartment-Apartment.
    • Level Tip for quick clickers: If you are a quick clicker, you may get a higher score by building 12 Apartments and only 2 Amphitheater instead of 9 Apartments and 5 Amphitheaters. But slower clickers will find Amphitheaters quicker to build and they don’t have to be sold again.
    • Train 4 workers.
    • Build an Apartment on a lot that will be its permanent home and sell it.
    • Buy exactly enough materials to build the Recycling Center and put it on any nonApartment lot.
    • Buy 10,000 materials.
    • Build the workshop.
    • From now on, buy materials in lots of 5,000 whenever you get down to around 1500 materials in stock.
    • Pay for Lightning Efficiency.
    • Train 3 workers.
    • From now, train workers as you need them, until you have around 24.
    • Build a Nuclear Reactor on any of the Utility row lot of 3 lots.
    • Build a Cinema on any nonApartment lot.
    • Build a 2nd Cinema.
    • Build a 2nd Nuclear Reactor.
    • Build a Tech Center on a lot on end or the other of the top row. This will eventually be replaced by the Grocery Store.
    • Buy Genius training.
    • Supercharge both Nuclear Reactors.
    • Train 3 more Technicians.
    • From now, train Technicians as you need them until you have about 15.
    • Build a 3rd Cinema on a nonApartment lot.
    • Build the Business Center anywhere, make all 3 Cinemas Fancy, then demolish the Business Center.
    • Whenever convenient, add a Wind Farm on the 3rd lot in Utility Row and supercharge it.
    • Now you have a lot of money coming in, no power worries, but a lot of Apartments to build.
    • Build 9 3-Star painted Apartments on the Apartment lots. Don’t worry about Energy Savers right now.
    • Once you have 4 Apartments built, start adding 3 Energy Savers to each.
    • Build the Garden Center on an Amphitheater lot and landscape all 9 Apartments.
    • Keep all Apartments inspected regularly to avoid repair costs.
    • Once you have 5 Apartments built, keep buying materials as convenient until you have an inventory of about 30,000.
    • Keep building Apartments, paint them, upgrade them, add energy Savers, inspect them, and landscape.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
    • Once all 9 Apartments are landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and built a Nuclear Reactor there, then supercharge it.
    • Once at least 8 Apartments are built and you have an inventory of 30,000 materials, demolish the Recycling Center, build a Nuclear Reactor there, and supercharge it.
    • Once you have two Nuclear Reactors built OFF of Utility Row, demolish the two Nuclear Reactors you built first, build the 2nd and 3rd Wind Farms there, and supercharge them.
Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Getting close now! Once all 9 Apartments have 3 Energy Savers each AND you have built all 3 Wind Farms on Utility Row and supercharged them, demolish the Tech Center and build the Grocery there.
  • Demolish a Cinema, build the Business Center there, make the Grocery Fancy, then demolish the Business Center again and replace it with an Amphitheater.
  • Check your money. You should have around $18 million or more. If so, demolish the remaining Cinemas and replace them with Amphitheaters.
  • Demolish the two Nuclear Reactors that are left and replace them with Amphitheaters.
  • Start selling Apartments. You can list them two at a time. The first one should sell for at $1.8 million, and the second will sell for over 2 million.
  • Demolish the Workshop and build the last Amphitheater there.
  • Just keep selling Apartments until you make your goal.

Expert Campaign, Level 9

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source
  • Goals: 7 3-Star Georgians, 7 painted Georgians, 4 Fancy shops
  • Mid-level Goal: 7 landscaped Georgians, 50 workers
  • Level Tip: This one turns out to be pretty simple, at least as compared to Level 8! Start with a standard Cash Sale First strategy by building a Georgian and selling it, then build the Recycling Center and the Workshop. Build a Nuclear Reactor, 2 Cinemas, 2 Bakeries, the Business Center and the Tech Center.
  • Level Tip: Make the 4 businesses Fancy, demolish the Business Center and supercharge the Nuclear Reactor.
  • Level Tip: Now it’s just a matter of building, painting, upgrading to 3 stars, and landscaping 7 Georgians.
  • Level Tip: The only problem is there aren’t enough lots to go around. So at the very end you’ll have to demolish the Workshop and build a landscaped Georgian there. Demolish the Nuclear reactor and build a landscaped Georgian there. Then demolish the Garden Center, rebuild a Nuclear Reactor there, and just finish up on the improvements for the last 2 Georgians.
  • Level Tip: To get to 50 workers, just keep training them from the time you start building Georgians. You’ll have plenty of money coming in once you get to that point.
  • Train 4 workers.
  • Build a Georgian and sell it immediately.
  • Build the Recycling Center.
  • Buy 10,000 materials.
  • Build the Workshop. You can’t afford to purchase lightning efficiency yet, but do it as soon as you can.
  • Build a Nuclear Reactor.
  • Build a Cinema.
  • Build the Tech Center and supercharge the Tech Center.
  • Build a 2nd Cinema.
  • Build the Business Center and make the 2 Cinemas Fancy.
  • Build a Bakery and make it Fancy.
  • At this point you may have to demolish the Tech Center and build the 2nd Bakery there. That’s OK.
  • Once you have all 4 Fancy shops, demolish the Business Center.
  • Remember to buy Lightning Efficiency as soon as you can afford it.
  • Now just start Building painted 3-Star Georgians as quickly as you can.
  • Also keep buying materials until you have 30,000 in inventory
  • Also, from now on you will have to train workers continuously to make the 50 worker mark.
  • Once you have 2 Georgians.
  • Now go ahead and add 3 Energy Savers to each Georgian as convenient.
  • Once you have 3 Georgians and 20,000 materials in inventory, as soon as you run out of lots to build on, demolish the Recycling Center and build a Garden Center there.
  • Landscape all Georgians.
  • Build the 4th painted, 3-Star, Triple Energy Saver landscaped Georgian.
  • Remember to keep training Workers!
  • You have to buy back the 5th Georgian. Add paint, 3 Stars, landscape it, and 3 Energy Savers.
  • As soon as you’ve run out of places to build AND you have enough cash to train the remainder of the 50 workers, demolish the Nuclear Reactor and build the 6th Georgian there. You can just work in the dark for awhile. Do the painting and star upgrades first, then landscape, then Energy Savers.
  • Keep training workers!
  • As soon as the 6th Georgian has paint and 3 stars, demolish the Workshop and build the 7th Georgian there. Landscape it first, then add Energy Savers, then paint and do 3 star upgrades.
  • As soon as the 7th Georgian is landscaped, demolish the Garden Center and build a Nuclear Reactor there.

  • Mid-level Goal: 17 empty lots
  • Start with: $200,000, 5 workers, 2,500 materials, 3 Technicians, 17 empty lots
  • Level Tip: This level is quite easy to make Normal on, and isn’t bad for quick clickers, but slower clickers will have to stay very focused to make Speedy.
  • Level Tip: Your goal is to build 2 supercharged Nuclear Reactors, 4 Fancy Cinemas, and a lot of 3-Star Apartments for income. You will also build 5 A-Frames which you will sell over and over to meet the sales Goal.

  • Once you have sold 12 houses, demolish all the A-Frames as you buy them back. Replace the first 3 you buy back with painted 3-Star Apartments, so you have a total of 7 Apartments.
  • Sell 1 more Apartment, then buy it back at a low-ball price.
  • Now just keep collecting money. As soon as you have $10 million plus enough to purchase any unowned Apartments, start demolishing.
  • Demolish the Apartments, then the Cinemas, then the Nuclear Reactors, then Warehouse last.
  • You have completed Campaign Mode.
  • After Campaign Mode, you can play in Casual Mode. This just gives you a Money Goal for each neighborhood, and you can solve it in any way you like. This is a good way to practice different strategies.

House Facts

  • There are 6 different types of houses you can build: A-Frame, Duplex, Condo, Craftsman, Georgian, and Apartments.
  • The A-Frame provides the best return on sale. Otherwise, all houses are equal in terms of return per unit of material.
  • Each house type from the Craftsman through the Georgian is double the cost and return of the previous. 1 Georgian = 2 Condos, 1 Condo = 2 Craftsmans, 1 Craftsman = 2 Duplexes.
  • 1 Duplex = 2 A-Frames for rent, but only 1.5 A-Frames in sales value.
  • The Apartments are approximately double the Georgians, but with some variation. They require slightly more than double the amount of materials. They return slightly more than double the rent as first constructed, but return less than double the amount of rent at the 3-Star level. Use Apartments to maximize the amount of cash you earn, not the amount of profit.
  • Any house can have its rent and sale price increased or decreased depending on what it is next to. Recreation facilities increase the value of the surrounding properties. Power generators and commercial Buildings reduce it. Shops have a neutral effect.
  • The star upgrades a house has, the more painting or landscaping will increase its value. This is why painting is the best thing you can do for a house in terms of investment. It always costs the same, but it gives you increasingly higher returns as the house is upgraded.
  • Painting and landscaping cost the same and provide the same bonus.
  • There is a bug in the game. If you have already painted a house and you hover the cursor over the landscape button, it will not show you the landscape bonus. However, if you both paint and landscape a house, you do get a double bonus.
  • Adding Energy Savers do not affect the rent or sales value of a house. They just reduce its power consumption.

However, the rent on a Duplex is twice that of an A-Frame, which at least isn’t any worse. There are few occasions when a Duplex, unless specified in a Goal, is worth building. If you need to build cheap houses, build A-Frames. If you need to earn rent, build Condos or better.

Building Facts

  • There are 5 different kinds of Buildings: Recycle Center, Workshop, Tech Center, Business Center, and Garden Center.
  • Since the Recycling Center only takes 600 materials to build and cuts the cost of materials by 50%, it’s worth building any time you have the time and the lot and you need to buy more than 1200 units of materials.

Recycling Center:

  • Requires 5 workers and 600 materials to construct.
  • -15 Appeal to the neighborhood for the lot is on, plus another -15 Appeal for any house that is on a lot next to it.
  • Reduces cost of materials by 50%.
  • Allows reuse of some materials from demolished structures.

Workshop

  • Requires 3 workers and 900 materials to build.
  • -15 Appeal to the neighborhood for the lot is on, plus another -15 Appeal for any house that is on a lot next to it.
  • Reduces the cost of training new workers by 50%.
  • Makes it possible to buy Lightning Efficiency for $75,000 which makes workers work much faster for building, painting, star upgrades, and landscapes. Does not affect the speed of Energy Savers.
  • Allows you to do inspections, which save significantly on cost and time by eliminating the need for repairs.
  • Note that buildings that are inspected will stay inspected even if the Workshop is torn down, but you will lose Lightning Efficiency as soon as the Workshop is gone.

Garden Center

  • Requires 5 workers and 1200 materials to build.
  • -15 Appeal to the neighborhood for the lot is on, plus another -15 Appeal for any house that is on a lot next to it.
  • Automatically maintains any recreation facilities you have built, reducing time and materials to keep them clean.
  • Allows you to landscape houses you own, which increases their value.

Tech Center

  • Requires 6 workers and 1200 materials to build.
  • -15 Appeal to the neighborhood for the lot is on, plus another -15 Appeal for any house that is on a lot next to it.
  • Reduces the cost of training new technicians by 50%.
  • Makes it possible to buy Genius Training for $75,000 which makes Technicians work much faster when adding Energy Savers. Does not affect the speed of any other kind of work.
  • Allows you to supercharge power generators by permanently assigning a Technician to them. This increases the amount of power generated by that structure and saves time and money by eliminating the need for repairs.

Business Center

  • Requires 5 workers and 1500 materials to build.
  • -15 Appeal to the neighborhood for the lot is on, plus another -15 Appeal for any house that is on a lot next to it.
  • Automatically maintains any shops you have built, reducing time and workers needed.
  • Allows you to make a shop Fancy. This increases the amount of cash earned in each cycle.

Shop Facts

  • There are 4 different kinds of Shops you can build: Bakery, Boutique, Grocery Store, and Cinema.
  • To make them Fancy, you must own the Business Center.
  • Smaller shops earn less cash, but also use less power.
  • Although shops have a listed "value," you can’t sell them.
  • The earning cycle for a shop is slower than the earning cycle for a house, but shops generally return more.
  • Shops have a minimum income per cycle, but will earn more when there are more houses in the neighborhood. For example, a Fancy Cinema has a minimum income of $16,000 per cycle, but can easily earn $150,000 per cycle or more in a neighborhood with 8 or 10 houses.
  • Even adding just a couple of A-Frames can double the income from a shop.

Bakery

  • Requires 1500 materials and 5 workers to build.
  • Requires 1,000 materials and 3 workers to make Fancy.
  • Minimum (no houses in the neighborhood) earns 2,000 dollars per cycle regular, 4,000 dollars if Fancy.

Boutique

  • Requires 1800 materials and 5 workers to build.
  • Requires 500 materials and 2 workers to make Fancy. That’s not a typo;apparently they start out pretty "fancy" to begin with.
  • Minimum (no houses in the neighborhood) earns 4,000 dollars per cycle regular, 8,000 dollars if Fancy.

Grocery Store

  • Requires 2,000 materials and 7 workers to build.
  • Requires 1,500 materials and 4 workers to make Fancy.
  • Minimum (no houses in the neighborhood) earns 6,000 dollars per cycle regular, 12,000 dollars if Fancy.

Cinema

  • Requires 2,500 materials and 9 workers to build.
  • Requires 2,000 materials and 6 workers to make Fancy.
  • Minimum (no houses in the neighborhood) earns 8,000 dollars per cycle regular, 16,000 dollars if Fancy.

Recreation Facts

  • There are 4 kinds of recreations facilities (also called "recreations" in the game): Tennis Court, Public Pool, Amphitheater.
  • A recreation facility adds positive Appeal points for the lot it is on, plus the same number of points for each of the surrounding houses that it influences.
  • If there are recreation facilities on each side of a house, the house will get credit for both Appeal boosts.

Tennis Court

  • Requires 500 materials and 4 workers to construct. +10 Appeal points.

Public Pool

  • Requires 750 materials and 5 workers to construct. +15 Appeal points.

Mini-Golf

  • Requires 1000 materials and 6 workers to construct. +20 Appeal points.

Amphitheater

  • Requires 1500 materials and 7 workers to construct. +25 Appeal points.

Power Generator Facts

  • There are 4 different kind of power generators you can build: Wind Farm, Solar Tower, Hydro Turbine, and Nuclear Reactor.
  • A recreation facility adds positive Appeal points for the lot it is on, plus the same number of points for each of the surrounding houses that it influences.
  • Normally you will want to place power generators so that they do not negatively impact lots where you will build houses.
  • However, if you want to buy expensive houses, putting power generators next to them will lower their price.

Wind Farm

  • Shop value = $500,000, 3 workers, 750 materials, Appeal -10

Solar Power

  • Shop value = $750,000, 5 workers, 1,500 materials, Appeal -20

Hydro Turbine

  • Shop value = $1,000,000, 7 workers, 2,500 materials, Appeal -30. Riverside lot required

Nuclear

  • Shop value = $1,500,000, 9 workers, 5,000 materials, Appeal -40
