Sable Maze: Soul Catcher is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from An enjoyable HO mystery adventure to find lost brother This game goes by pretty quickly, primarily because most tasks are intuitive or logical. I was able to proceed without any Hints and didn't skip a single puzzle. The storyline is easy to follow and draws you into the mystery. The title of of the game is apropos for the plot and becomes apparent upon completion of the game. You travel to the underworld, but not a spooky game. Lots of special effects. Good animation. Ratio of HOS to puzzles is 1:1. At least half of the objects to find in HO require interaction with another item to find. I didn't find the puzzles too hard, but some took many tries before reaching the answer. Overall, a straightforward mystery/adventure game that most Fishies will enjoy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from FIND YOUR BROTHER DARREN REVIEW FROM COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS You play Aaron and are looking for your brother Darren who went missing 20 years ago. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map. The graphics are quite good and clear to see everything. Colours are bright but not gaudy. Sound is good. I honestly didn't even notice the music but I found I was playing to silence most of the time. The hidden object games are varied. In some you need to find 5 objects and take a key to unlock the next lot of objects. Some are interactive where you find one object to use to find another, etc. Some are silhouette and you need to find two of each item. Some are find the differences. All of these are very easy to do. There are a huge range of mini-games to play. Some of these only took me seconds to do and there were others that took a while. There are a lot, and I mean a huge, amount of sliding and rotating tiles games to play. I grew bored with them after I while, but you may like them more than me. A lot of time was spent getting the tiles in the right order and/or colour . You have a rune sign on your hand that wards off evil spirits. However, be warned this can be tricky to use and you need to hold the mouse for quite a while before the pieces click in together. I got used to it after about the third time I used it, but its very tricky and clunky to use and I know a lot of fishies won't like this. I didn't like it much and sort of gritted my teeth as I did each one. I didn't need to use the interactive map at all because you are only going a couple of steps forward or backward. So do you get the CE or SE? In the CE there are 37 Achievements. You also need to find 10 Collectibles and wallpaper pieces which are not hidden and you just grab them as you go. Personally, I think the SE will suffice better because there was no challenge in finding these. Overall, its not a bad game. The characters are nice, the HOS and mini-games are not taxing on the brain, and it will fill in an afternoon or evening without getting too bored.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from There are always worst things Probably not the worst, but pretty bad. The game moves very slow which I did not enjoy. The storyline ended abruptly. The games were either too easy or ridiculously hard and couldn't be finished. I thought the visuals where very good! The hidden objects were a good challenge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Q: Why Are We Back? A: To Find The Story. Your brother, Darren, disappeared at Sullivan River Camp, the site of an earlier Sable Maze game. You go back to refresh a memorial to the kids that disappeared at the same time as your brother. Suddenly you are outside the gates to another reality/world. How did you get here? Why? And how do you get home? The adventure has begun. Good stuff: The voices were OK, although strangley only the insets had moving lips. The music was not offensive. In the Demo there were HOPs with two steps - find five of two items to unlock a very short list of items to find as well as a HOP to find all the pieces to a picture. There is a threatening character, very little story-line, and lots of pedestrian puzzles. Bad stuff: The "rune" I get to fight the souls is attached to a nasty "3D" puzzle. I'd run miles to avoid doing it again. Every scene is tinted blue. And I'm out in the woods looking for the brother that disappeared 20 years ago. There is No urgency here and very little story line. There must be an alternative to another soul snatcher/lost child - or at least some explanation of why - something that makes me want to explore another run through what feels like familiar territory. I just don't want to hunt for a story-line again. This is a new year. I want something fresh and vibrant and this game is just not it. I will not recommend something I won't purchase. Try the game for yourself. If you find a story, send out a signal.
