Walkthrough Menu

General Tips

City of Fools • Click on New game (A) to begin a new game. • Click Continue (B) – to continue the saved game after closed the game and launched it again. • Click Resume (C) to go back to the game from the menu. • Click Save (D) – to save the game. • Click load (E) – to load a saved game if there are several save files. • The Options (F) button allows you to adjust the screen size (wide screen and fullscreen), music and sound. The Options menu is accessible from both the main screen and the in-game menu. • The Quit (G) will close the game and save your progress. • There are no profiles in the game. • You can save the game at any moment from the menu. • The game will be saved automatically before you quit it. • This guide will refer to Hidden Object Scenes as 'HOS'. • Items will stay in inventory until they are used. Inventory is unlimited. • Some puzzle and mini-games solutions are random. • The HINT button is accessible in HOS, in the task list inside the notebook and in mini games. You must wait for hint to recharge in between uses. In HOS and mini-games Hint needs 60 seconds to recharge, while in My Entries it needs only 0 seconds to recharge. • When you see a character you must always click on it to talk. Characters can give you tasks, as well as give items. You cannot use or pick up items while the dialogue is shown. You can click through current phrase by clicking anywhere on the screen. Cursor changes to a mouth icon during dialogues. • Inventory items are sometimes given after completing HOS, but sometimes they lie around non HOS screens. When you pick up an inventory item, it will go to inventory automatically. • You can tell if an item can be picked up when the cursor changes to a grabbing hand. • The cursor will change to feet when you hover over an area, which will take you to another screen. • The cursor will change to Magnifying Glass if the area opens up a HOS or a close-up. • If you hover over an item you can pick up in a non HOS screens, you will see it labeled. • You need to pay attention to all the pieces of papers, notes on walls, trash cans. Everywhere there can be useful information and keys to get and solve tasks. • Your inventory is unlimited. City of Fools • Options menu allows you to adjust Music (A) and Sound (B) volume. • Also turn full-screen on and off (C). • Select a difficulty level. Extreme Adventure Mode (D) will provide no hint. • We suggest always start with Light Adventure Mode (E), which will provide numerous hint. City of Fools • Cursor will change to shoes to show a click in this area will take you to a new screen (A). • Cursor will change to magnifying glass to show this area can be expanded (B). City of Fools • Click Menu button to go to menu (A). • Click Tutorial button to go to game help (B). • Click the Map (C) to open game map. • The Wallet (E) shows your money balance. • Click Inventory button to expand inventory (F). Use arrows (G) to scroll through inventory. City of Fools • If you want to get direction to any target on the map, first click on the button with the flag (A) to pick it up. • Click on a target area to place the flag (B). • Your current location is shown with a red cross and arrow (C). The arrow direction is your eyes sight direction. • Click on any area of the map to close it. • You can pick up the flag and change its position or click on the flag button to turn it off. City of Fools • If you have a flag located on the map and you have not reached that location yet, in regular outdoor locations you will see white arrows next to regular green arrows. Such white arrows show you the correct way to reach your target location, the one marked with flag. • As soon as you reach it, arrows and flag will disappear.

Chapter 1

City of Fools • You are a journalist. Your boss sends you to Tundel city to interview its mayor. City of Fools • First you need to pick up some stuff before going. The items in a HO list are hidden in several locations: City of Fools • You have to give a ticket to a conductor on the platform. City of Fools • Here you are in Tundel. You start out on a train station. You only have 24$ in your wallet. Use the money carefully. Complete tasks and collect empty bottles to earn more money. Your inventory is unlimited. You need to pay attention to all the pieces of papers, notes on walls, trash cans. Everywhere there can be useful information and keys to get and solve tasks. City of Fools • Take a look inside the trashcan. Pick up everything you can. City of Fools • On the sheet of paper we see the number of the box in the locker room and a part of the code. City of Fools • Enter the train station. City of Fools • Talk to the man. He asks for lemonade and a sandwich. After receiving them he says that the mayor lives outside the town, on his own island. Air plane is the only way to get there. In the cash register you learn that you can buy an airline ticket in the airline ticket counter. City of Fools • Open the map to find its location. Place the flag there and go there following the arrows. City of Fools • Go to airline ticket counter. The cashier says that you have to show a special admission card to buy a ticket to the mayor’s island. City of Fools • Open the notebook “My Entries”, to learn where you can get the admission card. You can receive it from an Egyptologist who lives at 33 Balding St. City of Fools • The Egyptologist agrees to exchange the admission card for an ancient papyrus. City of Fools • Open the note book and see that the scroll can be found in the library. Go to the library. City of Fools • The librarian asks you for eye-glasses that can be bought in the pharmacy. City of Fools • Go to the pharmacy. Buy the eye-glasses. City of Fools • Give eyeglasses to the librarian and get the papyrus. City of Fools • After you bring the papyrus to Egyptologist, you can open a safe. City of Fools • Opening the safe you will see a letter. Based on it you have to find the WC. City of Fools • It is in the Egyptologist’s yard (to the right). Enter it. City of Fools • You have found the admission Card. Pick it up. City of Fools • By picking it up you will get dirty. City of Fools • You have to clean yourself and the card in any water source, for example in a fountain next to the train station. City of Fools • After you are clean bring the card to the airlines cash register. After taking the card, the cashier asks you for $1264 to buy an air ticket. This now becomes the main goal of the game – to collect enough money for the ticket. City of Fools • Go to the train Station. The man will ask for a shaver. Open up the map and find a barbershop. City of Fools • At the barbershop, open up close up of a trashcan. City of Fools • And put a shaver together from the parts lying in the trash can: City of Fools • Go back to the station and give the shaver to the traveler. You will earn some money! City of Fools • Talk to the officer near the lockers room of the terminal: He asks you to show your ID. After seeing it he asks you for a receipt for the locker. City of Fools • The receipt is in the asphalt pit. City of Fools • Take the receipt and give it to the officer. Now you can enter the locker room. City of Fools • Go back to the lockers at the station. Find the box 12, mentioned on the sheet of paper which you found in the trash can on the platform. City of Fools • You have to guess the last 2 digits, which are also 46. So the code is 4646. Take the money go add another $183 to your account. Exit the train station. City of Fools • Talk to the artist. He asks you for a ruler. It can be bought in the stationery. City of Fools • This place is marked with a cross on the town map: City of Fools • Buy the ruler at the stationary. Bring it to the artist and get $20. Now the artist asks you for some purple pain that can be obtained in Ferelli's garage. Go there… City of Fools City of Fools • Go to the garage. City of Fools • Click on the paint jars on the shelves…Blend blue and red colors to receive purple. Bring it to the artist to get $20.

Chapter 2

City of Fools • Go up from the fountain where the artist is. You see a wallet and try to take it. City of Fools • But it disappears in the bush, and a boy laughs at you. In order to take the wallet you have to cut the rope with garden pruners. City of Fools • Go to the gardener's house. Take the pruners. City of Fools • Go back to the wallet and apply pruners to the wallet. You will get $32. City of Fools • Let's turn right to find another task…Turn to the right again. City of Fools • Open the door of house #3 and enter. City of Fools • You see a door in front of you. Ring the doorbell. City of Fools • Talk to the old woman and enter the flat. City of Fools • The woman asks you to find the missing buttons which must be in the next room. Click left arrow to go to the nest room. City of Fools • Open the refrigerator. City of Fools • Find all the hidden buttons. City of Fools • Look at the TV. You need detail to fix it. City of Fools • Go to the House of Radio to get them. City of Fools • Look for needed parts in the box on the floor. City of Fools • Find all the parts and go back to the old lady. City of Fools • Place parts to corresponding places. Fix the TV-set to receive $17. City of Fools • Exit this apartment and go one floor up. Ring the bell and enter the flat. City of Fools • Talk to the strange knight. He lacks a sword, so, we go away to find some. A sword can be found in the Cinema House City of Fools • Go to the Cinema House. The crew won't help you until they can shoot a beer commercial. The beer won't froth, but shaving foam could help the situation. Go to the barber's. City of Fools • Enter the barber's and take the shaving foam. City of Fools • Return to the shooting ground and apply the foam to the beer. The director is happy and asks you to get a script of Titanic. You can find it in the library. City of Fools • Go to the library and buy the script. City of Fools • Give it to the director to get $160. Now he asks you to bring the shooting properties from the next room. Here you also find a sword. City of Fools • Do a HOS in the properties box. Give the things you found to the director to get $20. • Go back to the knight, Give sword to him and get $73. City of Fools • Descend to the street and click UP arrow. Enter the house #70: City of Fools • The door you see on the ground floor leads to Prof. Shultzman's apartment. We'll return here later. Let's climb the stairs: City of Fools • Ring the doorbell. They ask you for the password. It is kept in the locker room at the train station. You receive $1 for each target you hit. Shooting gallery is a location where you can always earn money. When all the targets are hit, the location closes. Next time you enter the location, they are on their places again. City of Fools • Go back to the soldier. He asks to bring him a tactic ruler. • Go to stationary and buy the ruler. Go back to the soldier. The soldier gives you a new task to make a bomb. • The soldier gives you a new task to make a bomb. City of Fools • Go to the room on the left and make a bomb. • Bring it to the soldier. He doesn't need it, but it will come up handy for you. As the soldier now asks for a nuclear missile, you assume that he has gone mad and needs treatment. City of Fools • Go to the pharmacy and buy pills for manias. City of Fools • Talk to the semitransparent man. He says that it is the revenge of Prof. Shultzman for tearing his woman's photo. City of Fools • Go to the next room and click on the table. City of Fools • Restore the photo and give it to the ghostly man. He asks you to return it to Shultzman in exchange for the cure from transparency.

Chapter 3

City of Fools • Go to Shultzman's apartment. Ring the door and enter the flat: City of Fools • Talk to Prof. Shultzman. City of Fools • When you ask the Professor for some recipe, their list appears on the right. Just click the title of the needed one. This time it's transparency remedy. Shultzman asks you for his woman's photo in exchange. Give it to him. City of Fools • You get the recipe and now need to find all the ingredients. This time these are film developer, lens, cement and a gum. Click the recipe to put it into the inventory. City of Fools City of Fools • You can check it any time if you click it in the inventory or in My Entries. City of Fools • You should find the ingredients now. Go to the House of Radio to get the film developer. City of Fools • The cement is on the building ground. Take the cement and a crowbar. City of Fools • A glass lens can be taken in the astronomer apartment. He lives at 16423, 23 No Lightbulbs St. Enter the house #23. City of Fools • Enter the apartment 890. City of Fools • The girl is in a hurry and asks you to find her make-up. City of Fools • Go to the room on the right. • Complete the HO scene to get $23. City of Fools • Climb the stairs, as you are still searching for a lens. You see a boarded door. City of Fools • Apply a crowbar to it to enter the flat. City of Fools • The astronomer be indignant at your breaking in. You need to give him a telescope to calm him down. City of Fools • Go to the next room, assemble the telescope and give it to the astronomer. Now he needs a star catalogue which can be bought in the library. City of Fools • Go to the library and buy catalogue. City of Fools • Give catalogue to astronomer and receive the lens in exchange: City of Fools • Finally, the gum can be found on Unpretentious St. As you come up, you see and old man stuck to a bench. Click the gum to help him. City of Fools • Take the gum. Now you have all the needed ingredients. City of Fools • Go to Prof. Shultzman. City of Fools • You will have to prepare all the potions yourself. Go to the room on the left. City of Fools City of Fools • Here is a special device for making potions. If you have any recipes in your inventory, they appear on the screen. As you click the needed recipe, it unfolds on the right. • Put all the ingredients from the inventory to the cauldron. • The ingredients are ticked in the recipe as you add them to the cauldron. • You can't put wrong ingredients in the cauldron. City of Fools • After adding them all you pull the lever. City of Fools • Take the potion and give it to the ghostly man. You receive $21 for completing the task. City of Fools • Descend to the street and go right up to the house #65: City of Fools • As you enter the house you see an iron door. Switch the toggle and enter the flat. City of Fools • Talk to the strange astronaut. He asks for a sticky tape to fix the “jets” of his rocket. • Go to the stationery to buy the sticky tape and give it to the astronaut City of Fools • Now he needs a drill, a perforator and a screw. City of Fools • Go to Ferelli's garage to buy a drill. City of Fools • A perforator and a screw can be found under the hood of a blue car standing on the corner of houses #71 and #18. Go there and open the hood. City of Fools • Complete a HOS to find a perforator and a screw. Go back to the astronaut. Give the astronaut all he needs (+ $61). Chapter 4

City of Fools • Go to the barber's to take the scissors. The sergeants try to defuse a bomb and need a screwdriver and tweezers (hair clippers will work too). City of Fools • Go to Ferelli's garage to buy a screwdriver. City of Fools • Go to the Barber's shop to take the tweezers. City of Fools • As you return to the sergeants, they ask you to defuse the bomb. • Use the instruction to complete the task. In case you do, you receive $20. City of Fools • Searching for new tasks, you turn left from the terminal square. Enter the house #71 and climb the stairs. A branch prevents you from entering the flat. City of Fools • Go to Ferelli's garage to buy a hand saw. City of Fools • Saw the branch and enter the flat. City of Fools • The woman asks you to help her put everything to its place in the next room. City of Fools • Complete the mini-game using the outlines of the objects and return to the hostess (+ $17). City of Fools • Descend to the street and enter the house #18. City of Fools • You see the flat #649. Meanwhile let's climb the stairs. • Draw away the curtains and enter the flat. City of Fools • Talk to the man in the turban. City of Fools • Go to Shultzman to receive the recipe. City of Fools • Go to 85, Nothing St. and zoom in the cart: City of Fools • Tobacco is in the gardener's cart. City of Fools • Enter this house to take an amanita. City of Fools • Go to the House of Radio and take acetone. City of Fools • Go to the park and pick a cornflower. City of Fools • Go to Shultzman to prepare the blend just as we made the previous remedy. City of Fools • Take the smoking blend and give it to the man in the turban (+ $17). City of Fools • He needs a match to burn the blend. City of Fools • A match is under the hood of the blue car. City of Fools • Click a stone to light the match and burn the hookah (+ $52). City of Fools • Go to the house #72: City of Fools • Enter the flat #87: City of Fools • A woman can't feed a baby. We need to obtain a bottle with a nipper. City of Fools • Buy a bottle of milk in the food store. City of Fools • Buy the nipper (pacifier) in the pharmacy. City of Fools • Open your inventory, click the nipper and apply it to the bottle. City of Fools • Give the milk bottle to the woman and earn $ 34. City of Fools • Continue with the task search. Go to 7, Light bulbs St. City of Fools • And enter house #7. • Enter apartment 701. City of Fools • You can see a man with bad hangover. He asks for hangover medicine. City of Fools • Go to Pharmacy to get the pills. Go back to the man and earn $17. City of Fools • Continue the search. • Go forward the street and you will see a Casino. • Talk to the guard and enter. City of Fools • Talk to croupier and play. City of Fools • You can play roulette. Simple rules. You need to make a bet using chips of 1$, 2$, 3$ value. You should bet on a certain number. If the resulting number matches the number of your bet, you will win sum of our 10 bets. If you lose – you will lose your bet. • You can play unlimited amount of times. But don’t waste too much money! City of Fools • Leave the Casino. • In front of it there is a house #10. Enter it. City of Fools • You will see a man who asks you to play Thimbles game. City of Fools • You can try as many times if you want. • If you guess where the ball is, you earn $2. If you don’t guess – you lose $1. City of Fools • Go to museum on a Culture Lane. • Talk to its Director. He will ask you to put his favorite statue back together. He broke it by accident. City of Fools • Go inside and then to the left. City of Fools • Fix the statue. • After you are done, go to the director and earn $60. City of Fools • Go up to the stadium on Pot St. • Talk to the soccer team captain. He asks for a ball. City of Fools • The ball is located in the apartment with the hungry baby, who we brought the milk for. • Go there and take the ball. City of Fools • Give the ball to the soccer team and earn $32. • The captain suggests a bet. City of Fools • You have to score in 3 tries. If you do, you earn $50. • If you lose – you lose $50. City of Fools • Go north to the top of Nothing St. • See a dog and a barrier. City of Fools • The dog will eat nothing but sausage and bacon. You can read this on a sheet of paper on the fence. • We do have to pass the dog.

Chapter 5

City of Fools • Go to the Food Store next to the fountain. • Buy sausage and bacon first. City of Fools • Go to pharmacy and buy sleeping pills. City of Fools • Now use the pills on sausage and bacon in inventory. City of Fools • Go back to the top of Nothing St. • Give sleeping sausage and bacon to the dog. • After the dog falls asleep, go through the barrier. City of Fools • See the underwater machine. Get inside. • You need kerosene to dive. City of Fools • You can buy it from Ferelli's garage Go there. • Ferelli won’t give us kerosene unless we have corresponding container – kerosene lamp. City of Fools City of Fools • Go to Antique store. Its address is 8, Nothing St. Buy the lamp and go back to garage. City of Fools • Ferelli give us kerosene. City of Fools • Go back to the submersible. And fill it with kerosene. City of Fools • Now find all the items from the list and get $52. City of Fools • Now go to 2, Halfcentered St. City of Fools City of Fools • Enter the building and the 2nd apartment. City of Fools • A cigarettes pack collector lives here. • He will pay you $20 for each pack. By now you should have at least 2 packs and will earn $40. City of Fools • Go to the end of Chicken St. • You will see a poor man under a hen’s control • He needs any kind of bait to place in the cage. City of Fools • Go buy bread in the Food Store and come back. City of Fools • Place bread into the cage and save the man. • He will pay you $20. City of Fools • Go to the left to the house #5. Go inside. City of Fools • Go to the basement. City of Fools • The man in black will ask for a book called : “The Children of the Moon” City of Fools • Go to the library to buy the book. • Go back and get 56$ for the book. • But the man now asks for a time travel potion. City of Fools • Go to professor Shultsman. City of Fools • Select a needed recipe and try to find the ingredients. • You will need: coal, old clock, granite, mistletoe, brown glass, wine, thermometer City of Fools • Start with the coal and go to 64, Milkguesler St. • Enter the building. City of Fools • Enter the boiler room and pick up coal. City of Fools • No go to antique shop and try to buy the old clock. But it can be exchanged only for the old stamp. • You should have already found the stamp in a trash can next to the train station. • Exchange the stamp for the clock. City of Fools • You can also buy granite here. Buy it also can only be exchanged for the rare coin. • The coin is in a crack, not far from the fountain. Same place where the locker receipt was found. • Exchange the coin for the granite. City of Fools • Now let’s find the brown glass and wine. • They are located at the address 74, Nothing st. City of Fools • Go inside. Talk to the cowboy. He needs a gun. Buy it and go back to professor Shultsman. City of Fools • Make the potion and take it to the man in black. He gives us $137. City of Fools • Now you have enough money to buy the ticket. • Go to airlines cash register. • Buy the ticket and go to the airport. City of Fools • Talk to the policeman. He asks for a ticket. Give it to him. He lets us go inside airport. City of Fools City of Fools City of Fools • Talk to the pilot and fly.... City of Fools • Walk around the island to find the mayor. City of Fools • Find the hole in the ground and go down into it. City of Fools • This is the labyrinth. You need to make correct turns to reach the mayor. City of Fools • Here are the directions: • Go left, up, up, up, right, up, right, up, up, left. City of Fools • Now go up and find the mayor. Talk to’ him and see what is going to happen next... • Congratulations, you have completed City of Fools!
