General Tips & Information

  • Select the profiles button on the main screen to add or delete player profiles.
  • You may play this game in full screen or windowed mode by changing the settings in the options menu.
  • You may adjust music, ambient noise and FX sounds in the options menu.
  • You may turn on/off game tips in the options menu.
  • The options menu is accessible from both the main screen and the in-game menu.
  • This game is not timed.
  • The in-game menu is accessed by pressing the menu button in the lower left.
  • You can pause your game by using the menu button, then selecting “Return to Game” when you are ready to resume play.
  • The help button will show a screen with brief explanations on some areas of the game.
  • Select “Save and Exit” to save your game and return to the main menu.
  • Just above the menu button is the map button.
  • Once at the map, click on a photograph to travel to that location.
  • The hint button is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • You will receive 5 hints for each investigation so use them wisely.
  • Directly below hints is where you will find hidden object lists or tasks.

Investigation One: Who Am I?

  • Someone has left a mysterious note at the police station.
  • You begin playing as Lindsay Boxer, Homicide Detective for the San Fransisco Police Department, but will change between the other members of the Women's Murder Club.
  • Locate all the hidden objects on the list.

  • Click on the collected items to trigger a mini-game.

  • The object of this mini-game is to determine the location of the possible next crime by eliminating the streets based on the clues.
  • Click on a street to cross it off the map.
  • When you cross off the wrong street, click on it again to erase the mark.
  • The first clue states, “I am not a body of water”, so click on Pacific Ave.

  • The second clue says, “I am neither a state, nor a city”- select California, Sacramento, Washington, Jackson, Montgomery, Mason, and Stockton Streets.
  • The third clue is, “I am not a famous explorer,” so you can cross off Columbus Ave.
  • The fourth clue is, “I am not a natural substance or a plant” allows us to eliminate Clay, Pine and Bush Streets.
  • “There is no 'o' in my first word nor does my first word end in 'y'” lets us eliminate Broadway, Post, Geary, Jones, Taylor, Powell, and Kearney Streets.
  • With the final clue stating. “'T' may spell trouble, but it does not appear anywhere in my name,” we can cross off Grant Ave. and Sutter St.
  • Only one street remains- Jack Kerouac Alley.

  • The street light is flickering so you will need to repair it to be able to see in the alley.

Investigation Two: Don't Fear The Ripper

  • You are now playing as Cindy Thomas, reporter for the San Fransisco Register.
  • Collect all the hidden objects on the list.
  • Click on the sparkling CD case to trigger a mini-game.

  • Take a CD from inventory and place it into a slot.
  • Left-click and drag to rotate the CD.

  • The final line indicates that the cross streets are only separated alphabetically by one letter.
  • That leaves only one possibility- the intersection of Octavia and McAllister.
  • Cross off Eddy, Hayes, Pierce, Webster, Buchanan, and Laguna Streets.

  • The hotel room is filled with gas.
  • You must quickly clear out the gas.
  • Click on the window , but it is sealed shut.
  • Pull the tablecloth off the table under the window.

  • Time is limited here, so if you are too slow, Lindsay will succumb to the gas.
  • You will immediately be able to try again.

  • The subject is lying if the meter moves +/- 3, or if they have a nervous fidget and the meter is jittery.
  • Ask each suspect a series of questions.
  • After each question, look at the lie detector and click on the the 'Lie' or 'Truth' button.
  • You want to ask two questions in the beginning to see what his readings are for lies and truths.
  • The questions will repeat until you choose the correct response.
